After recent Oreo update, phone dialer contact photo shows only on top and its small, a size of penny before that it was like 3/4 of the dialer screen. Is there any way to fix it?

I don't see how that affects the capability of making phone calls, so why fuss?
It's looks like this for some time in Google Dialer, so Moto only adapted this for their app. I prefer as close to vanilla android experience as possible, so I use google dialer for a long time and prefer it's design over old one.

Your analogy is all wrong.
There is a name, though. And it is perfectly visible.
Besides, it's not like you didn't have the will to call that person by yourself and forget his/her name all of a sudden. 99% of the time, you won't even look at the dialer when you make a call.

wokmed, no, just saying that Google Dialer (newest versions) all have small photos, while much older versions has full screen. There is even modified version somewhere here on XDA, where you can have really "full" screen photo.

ended up dumping touchpal dialer... Watchdog was flagging it as hi CPU even when the phone was idle... trying out GoDialerEX right now but have a feeling i'll find myself back with DialerOne... stock dialer is seriously lacking! why cant i click a pic of a contact after typing a few letters of their name and get actiuons like SMS, call, Open contact etc. the way I can with every other dialer??
Same about TouchPal... liked the crispness of the UI

+1 on this one, most of the apps they have are very good and user friendly.
go dialer/contacts is the best out, a lot of options/themes and stable
yup tried all 3 mentioned here and liked go dialer/contacts the most clean with options and had the functions I liked.

Yup... I'm running GoDialer EX at 200 as opposed to the stock 240 density and all is well... The green "call" butten is a tiny bit stretched but its tons better than the way the stock dialer looks at 200
Anyone know of a dialer like the one is sense...it was great at connecting pictures to Facebook and still only showing my Google contacts

This is driving me nuts as i work with this phone and receive ten's of calls from different numbers each day.
The phone app (i think) keeps asking me in the notification area after calls "Know xxx-xxxxxxx?" save this caller to phone book or something similar. Its a yellow base color notification..
Any idea how to kill this "feature" ?
That isn't the stock phone app. You have another one that is causing this off behavior. When the notification comes up next time long press the notification. A new menu will appear and the name of the app will show at the top. You can then try and turn off the feature in that apps settings or from the menu that appears after long pressing the notification. Turning it off in the apps settings would be a better solution though.

Hey,
Actually i am 100% sure its the phone app. as when i long press it, it shows that its the phone app. when i press the i-button i get to select stuff. everything else is turned off but show on lockscreen and allow peeking.
I have these in screenshots but dont know how to upload a photo to this post.. :/

To stop the message turn off Caller ID and Spam.

Really? I think you should reread the notification in the screenshot you posted. It clearly says "spam" in it.

That can be enabled by activating System UI Tuner. Pull down notification centre and long press on the settings button. It should be enabled.
Pixel Launcher and nothing else.

Are you on Verizon? I'm on T-mobile and can't get VoLTE or WiFi calling. Even though the phone and T-mobile both offer the service. I'm thinking T-mobile is gimping unlocked phones on purpose.

Nice! Can you share how you got the navigation buttons? I used good lock, but didnt find those icons. It says you can add your own icons as images, but I cant find those images to use.

Hey!! I used the Samsung theme DePixelizeD (Black theme), there is also Pixelize (White) and Pixelized (Dark).
I also used the "Lawnchair 2" launcher (Telegram only no play store) as well as "Pixel Icons" pack by Pixelflow.

It only allows using the theme as a whole, unfortunately it does not allow for Nav only. No worries! This is my first Samsung since the S6 Edge lol. I just came from 2 Pixel generations so I know what you mean).
Also I updated my previous comment with more info on Launcher, icons, etc.
I use Android 9 on my radio and the latest GMaps. When I start to navigate the big green label of directions covers 60% of the screen. How to delete it or turn it off? Thank you in advance

The culprit is likely your low screen resolution. Try to cram more content on the screen by increasing the DPI density. Here's some pointers:

Be careful though. Going too crazy with those settings may result in some elements or buttons showing off screen.

You're wrong! I already found the problem. The problem is in the new GMaps not in the resolution. A lot of users complain for this problem. I installed a lower version of GMaps and everything is good now.

That doesn't make me wrong. My suggestion may allow you to use the newer version on your low resolution screen by scaling everything smaller.
Just for the records, the current Google Maps looks just fine on my device.

What kind of device do you use? The newest version of GMaps works badly on horizontal view. Maybe it works on some phones not on the Android Radios.
