[HELP] Seems like water in loudspeakers - OnePlus 5T Questions & Answers

So i was bathing and listening to song, and suddenly the sound changed. I probably think water went in there, what can i do now?
I filled a plate with rice and kept my phone in there as of now.
Is there any other way? For how much time should i keep my phone in rice?

I experienced similar situation, just use a hot hair dryer on the speaker and the bottom chin for about 5 minutes.. it worked for me ??

My GNex took a brief swim. CPR in progress

Yes this is going to sound like a horrible lie or excuse to get a new phone but i love my gnex and want to hold onto it. I was in my kitchen and tripped and instead of falling to the ground and being protected by my otter box my phone flew forward into the sink where a pot from dinner was soaking full of water. You can guess what happened next. Like a puma I pulled it out and actually broke the otter box trying to quickly get it out and pull the cover and battery and sim. I removed it all since the phone was fully submerged for several seconds. I placed it in rice and aside from using the only rice I had (had flavoring powder mixed in which hopefully didn't do more harm then good). I did a damage control assessment. Everything seemed fine. Until I noticed my speaker was barely audible and I seemed to have destroyed my handset speaker as well. After several hours ans overnight in rice it appears my handset speaker is back to normal but it seems my loudspeaker is still rather muffled a little bit. It seems close to normal (maybe its in my head now) but I deff notice a small rattle or vibration only at certain points in ringtone (almost want to say when the bass is strong)as if maybe some rice or water is still stuck. The speaker may actually back to normal strength but this little rattle or brief period of abnormal sound is still present. Anyone have any suggestions? And yes I know I am very lucky if this is the only long term thing (aside from getting a new otterbox I escape with after my random gravity check almost destroyed my fav phone ever.

I don't have any suggestions for you, but I'm surprised it is working at all. You're very lucky.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Note II N7000 got wet!

Okay so my phone as on the table, somehow i didn't notice that the table was wet, i came back after an hour or so picked up my phone still didn't see the water for some reason! and then my message tone sounded very weird, i got a little worried, played music and it sounded horrible, robotic almost so i quickly removed my phones silicon cover. The whole cover was filled with water i quickly turned my phone off. wiped the whole phone clean, took the battery out dried it, dried the speakers then turned my phone back on, everything was fine except the sound was still robotic so i turned it off again, cleaned it again, even hair dried the speaker for 5 seconds, then tried turning it back on again but now it only flashes "Galaxy Note II GT N7000" on the screen. no matter how much i restart it that's what it shows.
What do i do? I checked the water indicator placed inside the battery pocket it's white with purple crosses on it. I googled a bit and it says your phone is water damaged if the sticker is red? If my phone is not water damaged then what happened? =/
It looks a lot like water damage to me. The constant reboot may be cause by a stuck power button.
If the sticker is still white it just means that water didn't touch the sticker, which may be a good thing if you seek a warranty repair. I don't know if there are other indicators.
BTW : N7000 is Note not Note II

well let your phone dry completely before using it now as it will damage the stuff completely keep it aside if possible open the complete panel and stuff and soak it in sun make sure the motherboard does not have water damage , if it still sounds robotic try replacing the speaker only.
Thank you!

Dropped phone into water..

I've dropped my phone to water and it was working for some moment's and it got shut down.I dried it and i tried to press power but it didn't react at all and it's not turning on now.Do we have something on our phone that can prove that it was exposed to water ? Or is there something i could do to fix the prob ? Also only half of the phone got into water. And it vibrated once after like half an hour by itself, and i heard some weird sound from phone for some time.

My friend with a S4 had same problem.
How he fixed it was that he shut his phone off and left it in a bowl of uncooked rice (or use any dehydrator) for 2 or 3 days.
This is just advice and I've never experienced such issue.

Well, uncooked rice is good, its an easy alternative. Whats even better is silica gel. Its not easily available unless you're working in chemistry lab or have friends that do. For silica gel, you can heat up the silica gel first, let it cool and put your phone inside the silica gel and let it be for 2 hours, even better if you remove the simcard and memory card tray so that the moisture can secape from inside the phone. You can try opening the back cover, only if you know how. Actually you need to open (I cant explain it here) the bottom rounded cover, then slide down the back cover then gently pull it out. For silica gel, a few hours should be enough. Longer is better. For uncooked rice, I would suggest a few days.Longer would be better.
Its really best to remove the battery of a phone, but in our phone case, its a bit difficult unless you know how to. At least you can put some insulator between the power contact between the battery and the phone.
It was sitting whole night on table and i plugged it on charger and now it booted and everything work's.
I've read somewhere that if it work's it can die any time because of water that was inside, like ppl had their phone working for 2 - 3 months and suddenly they stop.Do you know any way that I can prevent this from happening ?
EDIT: Now my touch doesn't work.

I think you should use the rice method to remove all traces of water left in your phone.

As we have said, leave your phone inside a bowl/box of uncooked rice, its a good humidity absorber. That will absorb almost all the humidity inside your phone. Don;t turn it on until then. You don't want anything to short circuit inside your phone. Silica gel is whole lot better than uncooked rice, but it can be hard to find.
Hardware button's doesn't work too so i can't wake it or turn it off..It was in rice for good 8 hour's and today I will return it to service.I think digitizer, microphone and hardware button's are the only thing's that doesn't work atm.
I was just listening to music when it fell in the tub filled with water(obviously). My initial reaction being the idiot and panicky me is to try if my phone is still on, and it was. then the battery drained so quickly and then i clicked the shut off button and it went off. I tried the rice method overnight. Nothing happened. Does my phone still have hope or should I let go? please help

[Q] Speaker Sorta dies after being near water for a while?

Hey guys just picked up the phone yesterday and I tested the waterproofing and it works fine just the speakers become very quite and distorted after touching water for a good minute or two. Happened when I tried to submerge it and just shower with music playing. The weird thing is it returns to full volume after 5 or 10 mins of just sitting there out of water. Should I return my phone?
No this is normal the speakers need to dry to resume normal functionality

Huawei Watch GT 2 speaker crackling sound after swimming

After swimming last night in the pool, speaker on my Huawei Watch GT 2 has a crackling sound when turned up above 50% volume.
The volume is OK, but sound quality is not good now.
After swimming, I washed it with tap water gently and dryed it out with soft towel.
This morning the speaker issue is same as last night. I expected the speaker to dry out during the night and sound to restore to normal.
How long does it take for the speaker to dry out?
What are your experiences?
Or is this more serious issue?

Having the same issue before. i always wear evrywhere i go even during bath. it is normal the speaker crackling due to water at the speaker. it will take a few hour to dry out. if you have cover or protection TPU please remove it and let the watch dry normally. It is a normal issue when the watch submerged under water.
Thank you for reply.
It turns out you were right.
In my case, the watch was left on a table during the night after swimming and in the morning still had crackling sound issue. I put it on, and during the day, sometime before noon, the issue was resolved on its own. So, it took about 10 hours for the speaker to dry, but it did, and is now working normally.
Also, at some point, an update brought the water eject sound feature(like iwatch), only it is not easy to summon at any time. It automatically starts after a swim workout, but just starting and immediately ending the workout doesnt do it.
You submerged your smartwatch and you expected a different result?
