Anyone else seeing separation on back panel? - Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 Questions & Answers

Anyone else notice a small amount of play on the back of the tablet, about an inch and a half below the camera? There's a small area where I can push the back in a couple mm til it touches the frame(?). I'm concerned it's a manufacturing defect and the glass has come unbonded.

I exchanged mine tonight, this one seems better but there is still some play on the back case. Not a great sign on a 700 dollar tablet

It's not a defect. I've tried 5 devices, all has that little gap behind back panel. It is not suppose to be bonded there.

The why when you push and release you hear sticking and letting go? It's like glue that wont grab

No I don't have that on mine. I will double check other tablets tomorrow but as far as I remember it wasn't like it on them as well.

Dust under screen

Has anyone had issues with getting dust under their screen. I recently received a replacement from asurion and the bottom left corner seems to have a wider gap than the right with backlight bleed and at night when there is a black background I can see what looks like dust. Would you consider this something worth contacting them about and possibly getting replaced.
If its bad, then yes I'd see about a replacement because it shouldn't be like that. I mean, you could try opening it up to clean it and see about sealing it better, but I don't know that you're obligated to fix it yourself because that is a defect. But be warned, it seems like a lot of people have been getting inc 2s as replacements, although its not a bad phone.
Ive got a couple of specks of dust that are only noticeable with the screen off. I dont have asurion but still have the Htc warranty. I could take it apart but refuse to potentially kill a perfect Dinc. Any Suggestions?
None here, but this problems brings back bad memories of my BB Storm. Glad I made the switch!

Bubbles under digitizer? No screen protector

Hi all. Quick searching leads me nowhere as there are thousands of problems concerning issues I'm NOT having. Sorry for the crappy 3ds camera pic, it's the only thing I have at my disposal right now besides the phone. As I said in the title, I'm not using a screen protector - this is a stock phone right out of the factory with no accessories, albeit aged a bit.
If you'll take a look, you'll see two screen bubbles. The huge funky-looking one at the top started out looking like the one at the bottom, and grew over a period of a few weeks. The bottom one started out really small and doubled in size to what it is now, but has since stopped.
It's really annoying and starting to bother me, but I was wondering if anyone had experienced similar issues, or has any input whether or not I can maybe fix this thing without having to get a whole new screen/digitizer/whatever. No replacement plans on this phone so gotta figure something else out. Any idea what's going on?

Is the plastic actually raised up? Can you see it when the screen is off? To me it looks like the digatizer may be going out, but its hard to tell from a pic.
It appears to be sealed and working fine... just has bubbles. I don't really know much about the insides of this phone, but it almost looks as if whatever is behind the digitizer is slightly warped and might be causing some contact with the glass or something like that. Reflections (off what is behind the screen - lcd? Not the reflections off the glass) tend to bend near the bubbles, whereas everywhere else behind the glass is pretty straight.
Essentially it just looks like water droplets or air bubbles forming on the inside surface of the glass, but it's never seen water before. I don't think the digitizer is failing.
Same problem, can I fix this myself?
Hi guys, I have the exact same problem on my HTC Desire. Touch is working fine, the pixels underneath are ok... yet this thing is expanding. What used to be 3 little bubbles near the very corner moved and turned into this amoeba looking thing after a few months.
Here are a few other shots.
Hope someone can let me know the possible verdict? Is it gone? Can it only be repaired by a professional or can I expect to be able to "clean up" the inside of the screen if I dismantle my phone as it is done here?:

Maybe the liquids from the lcd are boiling from the heat? Sounds dumb but is a possibility

Yikes. Mine is still having the same issues. I'm thinking about just tearing it down soon and figuring it out myself. A little nervous working on something with such small components. Any tips for a first teardown? I need to get a T6 torx and I've already looked at a couple disassembly guides, was a while ago though.
As far as I can tell, I will have to replace either the digitizer/glass or the LCD. If it's the latter I'll probably just upgrade the phone cause they seem pretty pricey.
Ok, I did what I said and investigated myself. Unfortunately, I broke my phone doing it.
The problem is the front glass/digitizer. I couldn't get the LCD off, but I pried it back enough to see bubbles through the glass looking from the inside.
I broke my LCD prying on it, now I have an ugly black spot. Guess I'll be buying an LCD and a digitizer now. Anybody have some spare ones, or know the cheapest place to get them?

There are some digitizers on ebay for about $20 USD. i dont know about LCDs cause i never needed to replace mine but i would assume that they would be a little more expensive. Also, make sure you get the digitizer WITH the bezel because it will make your life a ton easier.
I'd better not touch it then
Sorry to hear about your LCD, D-Lew
Guess I wont be touching mine on my own. I'll definitely break it trying to do the same thing as you. I wonder if it's gonna break my phone if I just leave it as is. I mean, apart from the fact that it is there, it is not affecting the performance at all.
The bubble might get bigger. That's all you have to worry about.

[Q] build quality & service

Well, I got my Nexus on thursday, but immediately I noticed a problem .
At the bottom, the glass is slightly tilted, on the right is raised above the frame, while on the left is recessed ...
these are some pictures I took
I talked to the shop and they told me that they will solve the problem (repositioning of the glass) ...
What I wanted to know is what happen when the phone is opened, because on my current Nexus One, after first service, i have tons of dust entering between the display and the glass, and obviously I don't want the same thing also on this phone
So, do you have some experience with samsung's assistance ?
thanks!
anyone ?
As long as it's purely cosmetic, I wouldn't risk (or waste the money) having some guy open the phone to even out the glass.
Mine is the exact same way at the top of the screen, and I only noticed mine a few weeks after having it just because I was looking very very closely at the screen.
However, the problem it's quite visible on my phone, the difference between the two corners is about 1 mm, and with the glass that protrudes from the frame is even more subject to scratching ...
I don't know what to do ...
there is no one who opened the phone ?
The what you call a "glass" is the whole screen, so there no any way you get dust particles under it, as there no "under" , maybe the glue that hold it not have not dry good, I remember SGS2 have some yellow tint, or maybe it was SGS1, anyway things like that do happen to some devices.
Are you sure?
I have always found that touchscreen ("glass") and the display are two separate things
I'd return it for a replacement, that's an obvious build defect cite that you fear it'll either get worse or become a leak source.
Also, I am relieved I don't have this issue although I'd expect that I'd notice it quickly as you

R.I.P my moto 360(10 days old)

Just got my 360 two weeks ago.
Everything works fine for me.
4 days ago, when I was walking in the mall.
Suddenly my wrist with 360 hit the wall by accident, but I didn't feel the impact was so big.
But when I looked at my 360 which only showed few stripes since then.
I was not able to fix it by myself and nor can the local phone repair guys.
So I have no way to order the second one.
Please, beware of sudden impact upon your precious 360.
I also don't recommend wearing it while cutting the grass and using a trimmer. I liked being able to control my music on my wrist while working in the yard until a rock from the trimmer hit my g watch and cracked the screen.
Hmm, this is why I got myself a Spigen Glass Screen Protector for the Moto 360. I don't trust myself, better safe than sorry.
I remember the last watch i actually tried to wear day to day was a Star Trek Watch in late 90's. I had just put my Tigger watch down due to battery problems (replacement batteries kept dying withing a week). First day wearing it I got home from work and looked down. Glass is cracked. Still have it. Cracked glass and all. I am more conscious about something on my wrist now that I started wearing the 360. I stopped my self from reaching under the car seat to pick something up. Hopefully I can keep it out of harms way for a while.
You can push on the bottom left or right edges and see the screen change colors... I'm guessing OP didn't break the glass but actually damaged the components underneath... I don't think any kind of protector would have helped.
i would imagine you shouldnt be able to hit the watch hard enough to cause dmg and not break the screen. id send it in and say you dont know how it got like that..
they might charge you to fix it, or they might just replace it for free.. id still try.

Are you saying that the display cracked/shattered? Or, are you saying that it's just displaying a static, garbled image, but the glass is otherwise fine?
Here's why that matters. If the glass is not cracked, it MAY fall under warranty repair, because it's a solid state device, and such a small impact would not have jarred something internally unless it was poorly assembled (mistakes happen). If the glass is cracked, Motorola gives one free screen replacement on their phones during the 1 year warranty period. So, it's worth calling them to see if it applies to their watches as well.
Give it a shot.
I wouldn't be surprised if the connector for the display didn't pop out enough to
loose some of their data lines/clock, but still have power, that would explain the lines on your display.
If only it was easy to take the watch a part.....

Notes frame coming unglued ??

Just under the volume button is popping out. After about a month or so thinking it was the case - I just put on a Samsung stock case and I believed it was not attached to the phone. Turns out, today I was looking a little deeper and the glass screen is bowing up from the bottom. Another words, you can push with your thumb on the back cover and it will bulge up while the frame stays. Never been dropped or even hardly carried.
Anyone else seen or heard of this?
Nobody had any issues of the glass pushing up in the middle left side of the phone under the volume button. I might as well play the lotto then......or not.
Ok, looks like my battery is a bit swollen and may have caused it??? Anyone else notice anything?
Mines been fine
I have had mine since last November, It has been in an Otterbox for the better part of six months, I have not noticed anything like you are describing.
My phone is awesome. So is it's condition.
