Bugs after October 10 firmware update - Planet Gemini PDA Questions & Answers

Anyone else notice these problems, or just me?
Display rotation no longer works - cannot use in portrait mode at all.
VPN no longer works. This is extremely bad. Was working fine on original ROM.
EDIT: Oops - I meant October 31 update.

Latest Google Maps update - What happened to zoom ?

Loaded the latest update to Google Maps - Now on my ATT S3 - It takes away about 50 percent of the zoom ability - I used to be able to see trees in my backyard - Now I can barely see the entire block.
Is this a glitch, anyone else seeing this ?

I'm running version 6.11.1, updated yesterday. Seems ok for me. No problem with the zoom at all. I can still zoom until I see trees..
i can zoom in alot until i see trees and cars close up, uninstall and reinstall or maybe reboot the device.

I went ahead and uninstalled the update and went back to factory - The problem went away - Not sure any of the recent updates do anthing for me so I will probably stick with this for awhile -
Running the latest version of maps and I'm not seeing this issue. Zoom works as expected.
I re-booted- and re-loaded the update. Works fine now, thankfully -

Back camera problems

Hey guys,
lately, my m8 is giving me a headache. It randomly decides to not being able to connect to the camera and opens the front-facing camera instead.
I can manage to connect to the back camera by using Open Camera and only see an inverted image which is from the second camera above the actual one.
The thing is, these things happen randomly. Sometimes it doesn't work, sometimes it does.
I can't reproduce how to keep it fixed all the time and I am a bit clueless.
Things I try: Clearing cache, fix permissions. Sometimes that fixes it, sometimes it doesn't.
I am currently on Android 7.1.1 and I am using the Resurrection Rom version 5.8.0-20161224
Kernel 3.4.113-Team-M8_1.2 [email protected] #1 Fri Dec 23 21:05:38 EST 2016
Baseband 1.25.214500021.06G_20.68.4196t.01_F
Thanks!

Intermittent WiFi and dead sensors!

Hi, I have nexus 2013 with Android 6.0.1, since this update and issue came all along and I don't know why!
My WiFi, is intermittent, it disconnects and reconnects all the time
All my other sensors are not working anymore, like auto rotation and gyro
screen sometimes is not being responsive, unless I turn it off couple of times
is it a software issue or my unit is dud? it used to work perfectly for couple of years though.
Yup same here!
Ditto on the rotation working intermittently. Works for a minute after restarting then stops working until I reboot. My wifi is solid though.
I am having the exact same issues as OP, doesn't matter which rom/stock.

I'm in the same situation but I'm not using stock rom. I'm using a custom RR Nougat Rom for almost 2 years, everything was working nice until this happened. WIFI either stops entirely stops working or works intermittently, and auto rotate doesn't work. I downloaded a sensors app from play store to see if they were actually working or not, to my surprise it says no sensors detected. I panicked and did a hard reset, and then it stucks at bootloop (can't get past the four dots, may be the ROM can't find sensors). Flashed countless custom ROMS, stock rom (6.1, 5.0), but still no dice. But then when I was about to give up, I thought I would give the stock rom 4.3 a final try and magically, my nexus successfully boots up with all the sensors working perfectly. Then I re flashed the custom rom back to my device in which all the sensors are working fine (ORIENTATION, GYRO...).
So may be go back to STOCK ROM 4.3 and then see if the problem persists. I see a lot of 6.0 people are facing these issues.
Good luck!

Pixel 2 XL back camera Portrait mode issues after Oreo 8.1 update

Hi
I have been experiencing really poor blurring on the main camera Portrait mode following updating to the latest Oreo 8.1 update a week or so ago. (OTA update). I have a UK black white version on EE. This did not happen before the update.
The selfie mode is still very good like it was prior to the update. However for the main camera I can't seem to get very good results... No matter how I take the pic. Here is an example...
Anybody else experiencing this?
Thanks
Kozzy

Same here, happening since DP2.

New OTA update

Guys that have the latest update that supposed to fix the speaker and camera, is the update any good. Im on Three UK and we haven't received the update yet but I see people are experiencing loads of new issues now, eg; screen flickering.
One person on razers forum said how the speaker volume is now even lower and the camera is sometimes either really bright or the image is half-cut. Some mentioned that the screen flickering is due to the adaptive display being on or when screen is on full brightness on 120hz. Phone lagging, restarting and freezing is also mentioned and
Can you share your experiences on this new update. Has anyone managed to do a hard reset to see if that is any good or did this update just totally mess the phone.
I took the update and am not experiencing any of these issues. I run it at 120hz all the time and the audio is very loud coming from Sony devices which have nice audio but much too low volume. Camera works fine, better than before the update. No screen flickering or reboots but I don't use display at Max brightness. I also don't use auto screen brightness.
I took the update and had none of those problems. Then I went ahead with TWRP. On one slot I have the new 2009 build. TWRP broke the WiFi and flashlight. On the other slot I have the 851 build. TWRP didn't affect anything on it, and the play store updated the camera app. The play store update did the same camera fixes as the 2009 build.
