Hi, finally we have a SlimROM for our ZUK Z2 :fingers-crossed:
 @Fedor917 and others have decided to work assiduously on this fantastic zuk z2. From this great collaboration were born so many ROMs, this thread will talk about the SlimROM.
Installation Instructions:
Your bootlaoder must be unlocked ( Unlock guide Tool )
You must have a custom recovery installed ( TWRP Tool )
Download the lastest SlimROM
Download the GAPPS ( ARM64/6.0/Pico )
Put SlimROM and GAPPS on your phone
Reboot in TWRP
Wipe Data, Cache and Dalvik Cache
Flash SlimROM and GAPPS
Reboot

Because in the Thread write "Z2" while in the folder AndroidFileHost present only the ROM for "Z2 Plus"

separately, does slim rom support substratum/layers or use CMTE? would be great to have a z2 rom that supports substratum, since CMTE app themer engine is still quite buggy ...

Zuk z2 and zuk z2 plus is the same phone

hi, My friend use this ROM found the problem:
opened and closed to mobile data after three mobile data can't open it, must phone restart to open the mobile data.

I want to move this rom to chinese zuk z2 bbs，in china ，not every one can see this page，because of gfw ，Can I get your permission?

The following commit tries to fix this problem:

After ROM compile, data still doesn't come back after wifi disconnect but comes on after turning airplane mode on & off. Only benefit is that you don't have to restart your device to get data on. But problem is not 100% fixed.
Note: any Dev with a complete fix for this, let me know. this is my daily driver.

hm never used anything above marshmallow for this device. Just assumed anything above MM will be unstable. Just use latest twrp - wipe system/cache/data. clean flash, all should work I guess.

I've just tried it and data is not working whether connection type I am using, but I had to go back on Cr droid:/

I've tried the air plane workaround but it didn't work out.
No I didn't downgrade but it is a good suggestion, so I should flash a twrp zui version
first the flash slim rom? knid of a pain in the ass if I don't keep the rom as a daily driver.
Any more detailed feedback on this rom?

Its also recommend to upgrade to stock nougat first instead of flashing a nougat rom directly due to firmeware related things like baseband etc. so..

Have you managed to flash the rom with data working? Only issue I had in the past was Wi-Fi not working, fixed long ago. I'm guessing this issue has something to do with flashing rom from a Nougat base/rom (different drivers etc). In past devices i had to flash modem/bootloader for MM to get stuff working with MM Custom Roms. Not sure about about this device, never upgraded beyond MM.
If anyone tested this update & everything works let me know. If there's still issues, I'll remove the links.

Everything seems to be fine, flash with darkmoon kelner 4.1
Except Wifi/data but after turning on airplane mode and turning of, data works

I will need your help to do that. Any issues please log and please post below.
Okay while I work on compiling and starting from scratch I know many of you are impatient and I'm keen to show there is people looking to develop for this device since everything around here has been so quiet.
Since this is mostly feature complete anyone wanting to test can do so
Support is a little limited, at this stage I'm very interested in hearing about any bugs but at the moment I can't be rushing to fix them while this isn't feature complete.

Now I'm assuming you have an unlocked bootloader, have made backups of your apps with something like TitaniumBackup, made a full TWRP backup and your keeping a copy off device (copied to your desktop or made the backup to a USB stick)so you're ready to go.
Guide for Installation
1. Download gapps (I used nano but any arm64 7.1 is fine)
2. Boot into TWRP
3. Format system and userdata (your "sdcard" will be fine, folders like download are fine - Only installed apps are erased)
4. lineage-14.1-20170403-UNOFFICIAL-scorpio.zip
5. Flash scorpio.zip
6. Flash gapps
6.5 (Optional - Recommended) Flash Magisk
7. Reboot to system
Updating from an earlier build?
There's no requirement to format userdata. System wipe is still recommended. Any dirty flash will remove Magisk and gapps.
If after installing update you find that fingerprint reader is not working follow these instructions
Boot to TWRP and backup everything - Copy the backup to PC or make the backup to USB)
Install MIUI dev 7.3.30 - I used fastboot method but zip method may work (if you use zip method and it works please post and let me know)
Boot into MIUI and sign into your Mi account.
Reflash TWRP
Restore Userdata from your TWRP backup.
Once completed continue the installation as normal
Flash lineage, scorpio.zip, openGapps and Magisk as above
When you return to Lineage all settings and apps should be intact.
Why Magisk
If during setup you add a fingerprint/password/passcode/pattern then you will enable full drive encryption.
My TWRP builds have no problem with this and if you've been using a passcode on MIUI you're probably already encrypted. If you wish to avoid this encryption but still have a passcode/fingerprint registered - install the latest version of Magisk.
While built-in root works perfectly well, for those wishing to avoid encryption Magisk will do just that.

Screen brightness adjustment scale is wrong (set delicately or auto-brightness is working correctly)

That sounds like a TWRP error. Make sure you're using any of the Mi Note 2 (Scorpio) TWRP, I know others are somewhat compatible but they will throw errors like this.
The most recent is here.
As a side note flashing miui 7.3.30 prior to updating to the latest build is somewhat recommended anyway, particularly if you encounter any issues with fingerprint. I don't fully understand why, but it's part of the reason fingerprint support took as a long as it did.

Another one, the reaction of fingerprint touch is not so sensitive. For example, I need to double or triple touch to wake screen up !

I hope all developers keep working on it and fix the remaining bugs.

Brightness can be adjusted but only the first few mm are useful for manual adjustment. Automatic brightness is working as it should.
There are third party apps you can try for more control over screen brightness (more than ever will be implemented in LOS) such as Twilight, and Pixel Filter. Both can be found in the Play Store.
Touching the fingerprint reader won't wake the phone usually, it does require pushing the button, at the moment this is by design because of other issues, but may be changed in the future.

I updated to 3.3.1 in the process of trying to get the rom to install. I'll give your build of TWRP a try at some point.

Didn't test it. it may or may not work. u can test it and share the experience.
backup your data & apps just in case, using Migrate app, and do a clean fresh flash if it didn't work.

Ok so dirty flash was a huge fail for me so did a clean flash and EVERYTHING works great in fact it feels like a brand new phone.. DAMN it's great again... Just friggin loving this rom.... only issue I have had is occassionly it disconnects from WIFI and then take a long time to reconnect... other than that all works great.
for those wanting a better camera all the following work great

all with similar results and all pretty damn good.

possible second issue
if I add or change unlock pin code... RN2 just locks up... have to pull battery out, once rebooted code has been changed and can unlock phone fine after that... seems too be the initial action of adding or changing it that causes issue.

Hello,sir will you make DotOS v2.0 too For our Xiaomi Note 2?

my sim cards don't seem to work on this rom. i've had this issue before in RR 5.8.5 and the only way to fix it is just to reboot my phone and voila, it's fixed, but in this rom it can't even read my sim cards at all

sim 1 is working as of right now. i just had to wait for it to work though the signal cluster icons don't show that it does. sim 2 is still not working
i have successfully installed both magisk and xposed. they both work like a charm thus far. i'll let you know if there's anything going on

You need to be lastest firmware on both slots Please.
First Install
* Download Rom (MicroG * or GAPPS version) , TWRP
* REMOVE ALL FINGERPRINT/LOCKSCREEN SECURITY in your current ROM
* reboot to bootloader
* fastboot boot name_of_your_twrp.img
* flash omnirom.zip
* Permanent TWRP. Go to Advanced --> Flash Current TWRP
* Wipe userdata ( by typing yes)
* reboot and profite
OTA
- Go to settings -> system --> system updates --> (enable local flash) select the zip file and flash --> reboot
Or wait OTA (All Sundays)

Any chance for help installing this? I flash it and it just keeps booting to bootloader menu. It also switches to slot b and cant mount data. Slot a mounts fine until it switches to slot b. Then slot a is unmountable until i restore using a raw image.

Ps. love this from and the only reason that it's not my daily driver is just because of air triggers not working and squeeze gestures not working, other than that it is perfect rom

What do you mean it's not answered there? It's in one of the pinned messages at the top, the one that starts with 'read before asking'.
Squeeze gestures work, but the air triggers don't work in-game.

I'm not sure about the twin dock part but it does have armory crate or did when I last tried it. The lighting doesn't work but that can be fixed with the rog lighting app on play store or else where.

Only if you have a problem with sim signal.

I was watching crDroid PIE v5 videos and looks so juicy... a lot of stuffs of personalization, i was missing in lineage 16 beta the nav bar... i had to get it from build.prop.
I'm so tempted to flash this new work... thx @ibilux

when I connect the phone to charger or to a computer, the phone suddenly restarted... help

when installing the rom, it's look so well done. but when I installing the kernel, the installation didn't finish yet, twrp suddenly restart (I used twrp given by you above), the twrp always restart after I adding another zip files, either it the kernel, the modem, even openGAP too... please help. and the other thing about keep restarting, it happen when:
connecting phone to computer/charging
open 3rd party file manager (mi file manager/reading a big data files)

I FIXED my problem by installing the rom first then restart and do some android set-up. then restart the phone to recovery mode and then install other zip files (kernel, modem, etc.) and it's work.
BUT what happen now is the app (like google play store) is freeze easily.

Well, i've flashed this ROM, my advice is flash addonSU of last, cuz i was getting a sudden restart if flashed that after the ROM. In the beginning the ROM was a lil slow, but now is running fine
Some bugs on personalization:
- the blur effect on the theme section is buggy
- the smartbar transparency and custom icon scaling is not working
Pro:
- The personalization layer got a lot of good stuffs to test and try, i love the smartbar functions
- Good tiles options in the notification bar
Cons:
- My wifi connection drops are very hard with this... with lineage 16 and the custom kernel still exists this problem, although it was easily solvable, but in crDroid is so often that these drops happen, and sometimes a reboot is mandatory to solve it.
I will try this rom a bit more before I make the decision to change it, but the problem with wireless connectivity is getting serious for me.

it will be so buggy... dont try it. look in the forum for custom ROM's for your device...

Does this ROM have some advantages over the previous one (LineageOS 16.0 for Xiaomi Redmi Note 2)?
I have been using LOS16 for a few months now, it's OK, but sometimes (not often) it freezes, and slows down.
So I don't want to change to this ROM necessarily...only if recommended.

The difference is just some more customization.
Does it heat before slowing down? or do u use heavy apps ?

open gapps. and also what I found here
youtube apps gave a same problem as LOS16 that you made before. but it became a bit better when you play the video (youtube) from web browser. video player is working fine here.

I don't use 'heavy' apps at all, and I didn't experience heat. As I wrote, there were just a few freezing (however I had to take out the battery to be able to get out from the freezing at all), and I can't really describe a specific program when it froze (maybe browsing in Chrome..)
Anyway, so far so good. Maybe I will give a shot to this rom..what can I lose?

Personally i think that chrome is becoming very heavy to this "oldie" devices... im browsing in crDroid with Opera Mini, and works pretty well, i recommend this change, but i think that the adblocker from opera is a lil buggy... but still is my choise
