LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 8 (oreo), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.

Instructions :
Download the latest build and GApps
Reboot to bootloader
Download the oreo stock rom. From here
Download platform tools and extract them straight into the stock rom folder. Not images folder.
Replace the system.img and boot.img with the boot.img, system_other.img and system.img in images folder (system.img and system_other.img are same. Just make 2 copies of system.img and rename one to system_other.img):-|
Replace modem.img from pie stock rom. Grab it HERE
Then use flash_all.bat to install the rom. ( We are using fastboot method because the TWRP is completely broken and doesn't even let us flash the rom. But @33bca is working on one. We'll soon have stable TWRP )
Let the flashing be completed.
After the flash is completed, just go to recovery (stock los one) format data again.
If you want gapps, boot to twrp by downloading official TWRP and using fastboot boot *******.img
Flash gapps
Reboot. After first boot, reboot to twrp
Then flash this kernel in the same recovery.
That's it. Now just reboot and you have a working stable LineageOS

Bootloop for me.
I used V10.0.3.0's modem.img and opengapps 8.1 arm64 nano.
EDIT:
I booted to TWRP and swapped the slots, rebooted to system.
Initially it booted to the LOS recovery, but when I pressed "reboot" in the recovery, it rebooted straight to the LOS animation.
Thanks for this!
EDIT 2:
Oh dear. Wifi appears broken.

Install fresh 8.1 by updating ota without installing any 3rd apps and do full backup in twrp, you can get boot.img, system.img and others, that's how i got 8.0 boot.img and recovery.img. There are guides about that. That's my suggestion.

Is system.img & boot.img the only thing you need? Just for 8.1?

Ok, if you downloaded the zip file, find recovery.img and unpack it. Than just use fastboot as you would flash recovery for the first time but before that to be sure that everything works use "fastboot erase recovery" and than "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"
Hope it helps.

Flashing Instructions
Pre-installation
T-Virus (Download here)
TWRP (Download from here)
NikGapps (Download from here)
First time installation
Backup your device data to a PC or OTG flash drive.
Flash T-Virus with NOST and reboot to recovery.
Download and copy crDroid and TWRP zip to the Internal Storage and flash them in that order.
Format userdata and reboot to recovery to swich to the updated slot.
Flash NikGapps and wipe the Dalvik Cache (or else the system will not boot).
Reboot to system and enjoy.
Installing from previous release
Backup your data to PC, OTG flash drive.
Reboot to recovery, copy crDroid and TWRP zip to the Internal Storage and flash them in that order.
Reboot to recovery to swich to the updated slot and flash Gapps.
Reboot to system
Troubleshooting
When flashing the ROM in TWRP, it fails at Step 2
To fix this, flash any TWRP >= v2.4 which contains a fix for slot switching
After flashing TWRP v2.x the folders have weird names and I cannot copy stuff to the internal storage
You forgot the format userdata before rebooting.
The GSI in T-Virus is A10 and uses software encryption. My TWRP builds use hardware based decryption blobs which
are incompatible with software encrypted userdata. My ROM uses hardware encryption so that is not a problem.
But when you do not format data and install TWRP v2.x then it cannot decrypt the userdata created by A10 GSI.
So always format data before installing TWRP v2.x releases

T-virus of yourself (2020) I believe... Correct me if I'm wrong.
You can use any T-Virus you like. My own though contains an updated TWRP version which supports ROM flashing. If you use any older one, it is necessary to flash my new TWRP releases before you atempt to flash the ROM.

Just tested on my phone, and Magisk works fine without causing any bootloops. What version are you flashing? You need to use version v21.0 and higher which supports Android 11

It is most probably a hardware problem with your device. All of my testers never reported Wi-Fi/SIM issues except Dual SIM. Does Wi-Fi work for you on stock ROM or in any other ROM?

Nokia 8 hardware is unique. It's Google that differentiate them. So, yes.
Excellent work, but the play store does not install apps larger than 500MB (if it "downloads", but does not install), I tried reinstalling nikgapps, clearing cache and google app data and nothing.

LineageOS 18.1 is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 11/R, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
You can also view the changelog for a full list of changes & features.

Installation:
Download the latest build from here
Download LinkBoi00's version of TWRP here
Reboot to bootloader (adb reboot bootloader)
Fastboot into TWRP recovery (fastboot boot twrp*.img)
Do a factory reset in TWRP
Flash the latest build of Lineage OS
Boot into your new phone
Optional:
Most of us will want the basic functionality like Google Play, Maps and others, therefore I recommend downloading Gapps. You choose your own, but I recommend OpenGapps. They are among the few that can survive OTA updates.
If you do this, I recommend booting into the new LineageOS first, then reboot to recovery, do a factory reset and then only flash the gapps. If you don't do this, the gapps won't install properly

Ending words:
This is a follow-up to the Lineage 17.1 ROM that I was working on. You cannot just upgrade from it to this via the system updater, you have to go through the process above. As said before, this is mostly possible due to Lyceris-chan, go support him. If you have any errors or questions feel free to ask in the thread. As for official status, might happen, probably not, I don't have enough time to make the push. As for MicroG, I plan to publish a build too, keep an eye out on xda. If I failed to credit you, make yourself known.

By no means is it mandatory, I do this because I find it interesting. But it takes a lot of time and also requires me to have a powerful server, so if you could spare some change, I would be grateful.

MicroG:
If you know what this is, then feel free to install it. This is the same ROM as above, but "debloated" of Google Services that are replaced with open-source alternatives. It mainly works the same, but most daily users will prefer the "normal version". This ROM has its own separate OTA engine, so it should receive updates over it too. You can download it here. The install process is very similar, just don't install Gapps at the end.
Thanks for the rom, is enforcing like lineage 17.1?.

Maybe you should try this twrp https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-twrp-recovery-for-xiaomi-mi-a2-lite.4178901/
After formatting data, wipe everything except sdcard. I put necessary files on sdcard.
And after the step that you install the rom, install twrp installer, too. And before rebooting system, don't forget to change your slot(from reboot menu), and reboot to recovery again. Than i installed gapps and magisk and rebooted system. Everything gone well.

No, if you want to encrypt, you will have to wipe your data. But I think that you can do a twrp backup and restore after the encrypting

Very happy with the new ROM. Good job!
Thanks for providing this new version, I did a clean install today. Everything seems to work fine except the default browser - no matter if I use mobile data or wi-fi, it can't open any page
@reujea0 Thanks for the rom and all your efforts.
Which opengapps package do you recommend ?
And which is the biggest package we could safely flash to avoid twrp' s error 70 ?

Not a port, rom was actually built properly based off hannah trees (Credits to @karthick mostwanted) , however TWRP was a port from hannah , made by @amaterasushen
The problem is Nora and james both have tiny recovery partition sizes so its gonna require some more work before twrp will be flashable , For now just use it to wipe system and vendor only , and use lineage recovery for the rest, you can goto the 'update' menu in lineage recovery to flash zips for now.

I already flashed it, after I did a factory reset with the lineage recovery, I rebooted into twrp and flashed both files + magisk, everything is working really well, I'm actually surprised of how fluid this rom is
Nice! , yeah as I said , no port rig job.. its the real deal
Glad you enjoying it
I manage to successfully install this ROM even though I deviated slightly from the instructions. I did the following:
fastboot boot recovery-twrp64-nora.img
Wipe -> ADVANCED -> Format Data - type yes
Wipe -> ADVANCED -- select system + vendor
reboot bootloader
fastboot flash recovery nora-rec.img
fastboot boot nora-rec.img
Factory reset
reboot to bootloader
fastboot boot recovery-twrp64-nora.img
Copied the Lineage and OpenGapps zips to the internal memory and flashed via TWRP without errors
excellent
I have seen in other ROMs that there are graphical bugs and the audio equalizer does not work correctly. Are these bugs present in this ROM?
Nora never had a rom until now
I do not have a nora , however i do not believe it has such bugs
