'I don't use any ported rom so I can't check it'
(If You want to install ported roms - pls uncheck Priv fix for stock Roms in installation process and select fix for deodexed and ported roms and look at Installation section in OP)
The kernel use an AROMA installer to help guide you through the installation.
Recommended Apps:
To tweak most of the settings in the kernel, I recommend using ThunderTweaks app.

INSTALLATION PROCESS:
FOR STOCK ODEX/DEODEX, Treble and AOSP ROMS
FIRST - Clear cache apps like Kernel Adiutor or MTweaks or another one in system app menager !!!
Backup EFS, DATA and KERNEL as always in TWRP !!!
Download the latest kernel version zip file
Go to recovery
Flash the CLEAN ROM, next restore Your DATA and flash the kernel zip with root or not
Choose aroma selection
Flash Magisk separately or with Aroma installer
Reboot
ThunderTweaks app is installed.
If You wnat to flash this kernel and have installed another custom kernel like MoRoKernel or Arianoxx, You have to clear ThunderTweaks, MTweaks or Kernel Adiutor cache before You install.
If You dont want one of the possibilities for root inside Aroma Installer please choose no root and next flash any root mods manually.

Just checking, there are no stock roms for the S7 with Pie so i assume you mean any LOS derivative ROM?

No it's for Note FE port pie rom. You can find it on S7 edge xda forum. It's also compatible for S7 flat.

If you have flashed Root through any means other than magisk, Please uninstall it (SuperSU>Full unroot)
Open developer options (Press aboutphone > build number 7 times) Enable OEM Unlock (Google RMM if you had issues)
Flash TWRP Recovery that can be found in J730 Section
Fully Wipe internal storage and format data (Must for first time flashing TWRP)
Copy Kernel to your desired Location
Install Zip > Select kernel.zip
Reboot and wait
Kernel does not include Magisk. Download it here if you need it

yes flash rom, patch1 from the rom theard, then this kernel and it will work
aod is not working because j5 doesnt support it... (there is a fix but a bit complicated)

this is normal for the first day or so then it will start showing
! This kernel is based on treble tree,so make sure you are on a treble ROM !
【! From R20 , it only support 4.4 compatible ROM since we are having 4.4 kernel !】
! Some profiles from /vendor will be replaced so if you want to fully uninstall this kernel,just dirty flash your current ROM!
If you are coming from other kernels,better to do a dirty flash on your current ROM to avoid any strange problems.

I can say with certain flashing this kernel is safe at all.Kernel will not go on OC freqs if u dont choose OC freqs by using tools like KA.So in fact u can use this kernel as a non-OC kernel Lol.
But the kernel has a lot of settings that could cause unstable like high OC freqs (2.53/2.46/780/2.0),so its strongly recommend to test the freq you want to use before you set it for daily use.Just lock min and max freq to it and see if theres kernel panic or crashes.If everything is fine,you can choose it for daily use.Or u can try to raise voltage for it and test again.
For every device:
OC 2.26+1.68+624 is stable
For most device:
OC 2.34+1.76+710 is stable
For some device:
OC 2.41+2.0(1.86)+780 is stable
For little device:
OC 2.50+2.0+780 is stable
So if this kernel is good at performance or battery depends on ur settings.Default settings(1.8+1.3+624) prefer battery + smooth.

From R20 , it only support 4.4 compatible ROM since we are having 4.4 kernel. So go to flash a ROM with 4.4 kernel build in(Latest arrow,aex,etc.),or you ll get problem with video playback and usb.

So I lock it down to 2.15 as default.You can choose 2.2/2.3 as you like.
Is voltage control available? And I think there're too little steps above the stock frequencies, and did you modified GhostPepper to include all the OC frequencies?

Look pls at my CPU usage at 416 and 338 MHz in normal use this will be at 442 an 728 MHz so for me is difference not very big but it is....always some more voltage [emoji3]
As I wrote before - I want to make a kernel battery friendly - not for OC, geeks scores, etc. - another devs like @morogoku , @Arianoxx and @djb77 made it better and very good.
I want focus only at battery usage and good for daily use with good balanced work bcose are some people who's not play in games only use S7 for work and normal use - and don't want hot and not battery friendly Oreo.
...with Your help maybe we can do more in this case .... bad battery life in Oreo Android system.

I will try the lower freq. As for 1 day usage tje kernel seems good. Keep up with the work!
I suggest if you want to use westwood for TCP because it's the most stable i don't know if others are so good.

If you have flashed moded twrp 3.2.3.0 by tkkg so you dont have to. In aroma you can flash it.

Fully Wipe internal storage and format data (Must for first time flashing TWRP)
Copy Kernel to your desired Location
Install Zip > Select kernel.zip
Reboot and wait
First time rooting, Open magisk app Once to ensure root is working

Simple. All you need to do is to push the BlueLightFilter apk from a supported rom 8.0/8.1 to priv-app and make a reboot. Add the toggle for it, or launch it via activity launcher.

Sorry but it will not work on every aosp rom, bcose camera drivers must be copied from aosp and it can break on some rom like pixel, dotOs, etc.
Aosp has a lot of rom features against kernel features which can help with performance and battery life.
On S10 was the same...

You can flash normal, magisk is only ramdisk patched not kernel source so You can use Your installed magisk manager. Zip file will install latest 23 magisk repo - auto.

nope, only if YOu format sdcard or flash via ODIN - data partition will be deleted or if YOu flash vbmeta Ynd HOME_CSC You will not loose Your data
