a quick question here - Xiaomi Redmi 7 Questions & Answers

hey guys, i'm from argentina, and i just bought this phone, i was wondering if redmi 7 and redmi note 7 uses the same tempered glass or could work, because i cannot find the glass for this phone here, is kinda hard, so i have this doubt, hope some of you can help me on this, thanks.

I tried to install a 5D screen protector made for Note 7 on my Redmi 7 and the result was a bit surprising....It seems that Note 7 has a little bit bigger ear piece calling speaker....Other than that everything else was in its place... Notifications light, camera, proximity sensor
I didn't like it so i went for complete transparent screen protector which i believe is made for Note 7
Best Regards

i had the fortune that i find the redmi 7 glass on a store from here, so there's no need to put a note 7 one, but i really appreciate your answer, thanks!

fingerprints on screen

This may sound like a question but it isn't.
Am I dreaming or is the screen of the Note 8 so much more resistant to fingerprints and other things?
I am surprised daily at how good a screen it is and how clean.
It is! I only got a screen protector due to thinking the s-pen may damage it, but it is starting to tear apart, so might as well remove it.
Will try to get a tempered glass protector though
In India,..We got the note 8 with a screen protector out of the box...Can't say the same with the screen protector

Not 100% sure, but the screen is most probably covered with oleophobic coating, which would make it grease/sweat/fingerprint resistant. If so, the question is how long will it last - on my Note 1, it started to wear off after a year or so.
Same here

I noticed that plastic over the button and the edges. Has someone removed the "screen protector"?
Does someone NOT have this?

It is not resistant for me. I actually think is the reverse. Never seen so many fingerprints in a screen before
I got the N5110

Mine too. I have a Note 2 and a Note 8. The Note 2 stays pretty clean, while the Note 8 looks like sh*t.
But a quick wipe and it is clean again, so no problem.
And no, my N5100 did not come with a screen protector.

Polarized display on the Redmi Note 5 Pro

Hi,
Because I just got a pair of polarized sunglasses, I have discovered that the display on my RN5 Pro seems to be polarized. While this sounds good, the practical effect is that if I hold my phone vertically while wearing my sunglasses, I can't see the screen at all. I can only see it if I hold the phone horizontally.
Is this something that is physically part of the display? Is there any option to change/rotate or turn off the polarization? Any ideas?
Thanks!

I noticed the same thing and was not pleased. I have no idea how the physics works but after putting on a glass screen protector it works just fine...

Thank you!
And now you can see the screen with polarised sun glasses?
Amazing!
Ho, I was about to ask a similar question, that a coincidence
The fact is, the redmi note 5 ha a polarized filter (like all LCD panels) oriented at 90° from the one of other smartphone I had (nexus 5X, Redmi note 4, etc.). As per consequence I can't see anything in portait mode but it's all clear in landscape, witch is terrible for car use.
If a screen protector can mitigate this issue, it worth the try

Hi All,
I put a cheap glass screen protector (a dollar or two from ebay) on the phone, and the problem disappeared. It would be interesting to learn the physics behind it, but practically, all you have to know is put any kind of glass screen protector on and the issue goes away. And you keep the phone looking good. So bonus.
Thanks for the discussion, everyone.

Today I put glass protector (cheap) but the problem did NOT disapper. This is very frustrating for me. Maybe I must search to another kind?

Do you have the same @ulsa phone? And do you have purchased the same screen protector full body from here: https://www.honorbuy.com/1361-full-...-redmi-note-5-global-versionredmi-note-5.html ?

Exactly the one I ordered. You can see my result in the picture.
Edit: I have stopped using the protector, mainly because it would get smudged very easily.

Yeah it worked good for polarized problem. Maybe this full body protector use a different glass than this i.e.: https://www.amazon.it/Ferilinso-Xia...749688&sr=8-1&keywords=pocophone+screen+glass

But we need to know which @Misho2bg has purchased
I have discovered that my redmi note 5 is polarized vertically, while another redmi note 5 i bought for my girlfriend, is polarized horizontally. Strange

Dust under the screen - is it a normal issue with smartphones or Xiaomi?

I just received my Redmi Note 5 Pro few days back and took some moment to analyse the phone yesterday and found that 2 places under the screen have dust particles! I thought it might be a special case but then found out my older redmi 5 have about 4 dust particles under the screen! Is this normal? I suggest you set your screen brightness to the highest level and open a white page before analysing your screen and report back. Thanks

if it has dust under the screen go to service centre.... if its between temper glass and screen it womt do much
my phone didnt have any dust under the screen , but built quality on mine was terrible , there was a light showing up on the side of the screen (between the glass digitizer and screen frame) when using the phone in dark environment . and of course the famous multitouch issue .

Is the factory fitted screen protector a strong blue colour ?mine appears to ?!?!?

Just recieved my brand new MI MIX 2 from eGlobal, I like to keep the factory fitted screen protector on , but it appear that the one fitted has a screen blue tint to it ??? is this normal ? I don't want to take off the screen protector , if the phone screen is faulty I will send it back.
Anyone know ?
????? Mate you pill off this blue film..
Yeah, but my question is, when you received the phone was the screen protector blue?
I have bought it as a gift, I don't want to send a faulty phone... And I don't want to take off the protector to check.

Yes the screen protector had this blue film.. I take it off
Blue screen protector?!? There's definitely something faulty about that. Mine was clear, colorless. Now the thing that was realy annoying to me are the earphones. I mean, why the heck would they give white headphones with black phone?!?

Question OnePlus 9 Pro Fingerprint problem

Okay, so recently I decided to put a screen cover on my OP 9 Pro and I cannot use the fingerprint. Did anybody else had this issue with the fingerprint?
Also I'm running Android 13 on my device.

Yeah, I did with a protector from Ebay. I bought one from T-Mobile when I got the phone, it worked fine, but when they put it on, they ended up leaving a fingerprint on the underside of protector which was very annoying. The glass protector from TMO for the OP9P does work. It has a special clear area where the fingerprint icon area is. Hope this helps.
I'm using this case from Amazon. Works awesome with finger print and wireless charging, best made case I've found to date.
