How do I unlock the bootloader on a Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 (SM-T310)? - Galaxy Tab 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Alright, semi-noob question here. I'm not a developer or a hacker or anything, just a tech-savvy end user. I have a Tab 3 8.0 running Android 4.4.2 and I want to install a custom ROM. I'm familiar with Samsung devices on which you go into the developer options and select OEM unlock. I see no OEM unlock or anything of that sort in the developer options. Is the bootloader unlocked by default or am I missing something?

It's been a while I flashed my ROM, I post the link down below. I think it was 'USB debugging >on", after that I simply flashed with Odin. I remember nothing about bootloader.

What I tried to say is that Samsung devices don’t have a bootloader. Meaning you can easily install a TWRP recovery without having to deal with unlocking the bootloader. I tell you this because I have a Samsung Tab 3 sm t310. Motorola for example does have a bootloader wich you will have to unlock in order to install a custom rom for example

Here is what I found in Nexus S forum (Q&A section):
Q: How do I root/unroot the Nexus S?
Check the development section links below for more detail, but you gain root on the Nexus S by booting the phone into fastboot mode and typing "fastboot oem unlock." This will wipe your phone and it's SD card partition. To unroot it, again boot into fastboot mode and type "fastboot oem lock."
Follow the root guide stickied at the top of this forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=895545
In the event you want to return to stock, simply flash the NAND backup found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=884093 . This will restore everything, including the stock recovery image. Then as mentioned above go into the bootloader/fastboot mode and enter "fastboot oem lock" in ADB.

What is wrong is that you think this is a support site. Let me let you in on something. Its not! This is a developers site.
Oh and if your set up is not seeing your device then guess what your problem is? If you can't answer that then you need to so more research.

Does your oneclick allow this or is it "ROOT, Unlock Bootloader, Install Custom Recovery" in one shot?

Sorry... just saw the main post and could see there are root options (#4) so assuming yes... but it still says:
"Root Stock Jelly Bean builds (upto 4.2.0 JOP40C)" - Is this still true or will it do 4.2.1 ?

"just got my Nexus 10 today and I upgraded to 4.2.1 without looking at this thread first. I was able to successfully follow the 1-click options to fully root my device and put TWRP on it. Everything is working great and I'm rooted and unlocked."
Will have coffee before posting any more this morning...
is it exist any superOneClick script to root Nexus10?
Thanks for the video! I've been using droidmodderx tips and instructions forever, with it bookmarked on the laptop. Yesterday the N10 arrived. Today it's unlocked/rooted in maybe 5 minutes. The visuals are great letting you know what to expect. (I would never thought that button was the volume-up!) Thanks man!

Lenovo Vibe P1 Marshmallow Rooting

Hi,
I recently updated to Marshmallow, the last update the Vibe P1 can get from Android. I want to root it coz of the huge list of unused uninstallable apps from Google. Have someone achieved access to the root directory in Marshmallow ? I see threads for rooting this device which runs on Lollipop, but not MM.
Can someone help ?
There's a dedicated thread for rooting. Search and you shall find

I have it rn installed and it works.
Mr. Teddy,
Have u rooted your vibe with Marshmallow or Lollipop? I assume that the codes and steps given in the link are for Lollipop. Won't that cause the device to brick ?
I have done a rooting earlier on a Samsung device with just a zip file calles SuperSU. Can't I do a similar root for Vibe P1?
I'm not a nerd, please ignore if the question was irrelevant.
The 272 Rom is 6.0.1 which is Marshmallow. You do the steps abd it'll be fine. Be aware that you have to unlock bootloader using adb.If you want I can assist you on TeamViewer to get it done.

Mr. Pabgar,
How can that be done?
One quick question. I used to root my Samsung Galaxy Ace with a zip file called SuperSU.Zip. Can I get such a file to run it from recovery mode, reboot and get access to system files like a super user? Or is that impossible in Marshmallow?

Is the bootloader same as the MM OS or is it like a system BIOS?
It follows the same principle, but it needs custom recovery and unlocked bootloader. And pabgar about your experience with just flashing the unlocked bootloader, it caused my device to brick, so better be sure than sorry.

Thank you... I am checking the links shared.
Why should there be a ROM installation required?
Isn't it possible to run some codes and get admin rights than installing a ROM? I am not a nerd but I have done rooting before using supersu.zip. Im not sure what happened in the background when I install the zip file from recovery mode but once I reboot, I have the admin rights. Can such a simple way be possible in Vibe P1 with Marshmallow?
My purpose for root is just to uninstall all Google scrap applications.
Is it possible?
He wants root for 6.0.1 so he needs unlocked bootloader and custom recovery, then he can flash supersu. For unlocked bootloader he needs fastboot.

No. In theory you are right BUT Lenovo does not want you to gain privileged rights and try to lock it in every way.
Indeed some smartphone manufacturers have different policy and sell phones with root rights unlocked or easy accessible.
In the above shared link, there were more things to download and run out of which all might not be needed. Can you guide me exactly what files I got to install, then the steps to be followed just to get root access.

There's a link in that post and if you look at the replies in that thread you will see step by step instructions. It's relatively easy. I root mine with that method (on android 6.0.1)

T807T Security Error after flashing

I flashed my T-Mobile Tab S 10.5 with custom roms and the LTE didn't work so I tried flashing to stock but now it prompts with
"Security Error This phone has been flashed with unauthorized software & is locked. Call your mobile operator for additional support. Please note that repair/return for this issue may have additional cost."
I tried using Samsung Kies & Smart Switch to reload software with no luck. I even tried downloading from Sammobile and any other roms that were compatible with my model to try and regain LTE. Any help would be appreciated!

With custom roms it just wont find any signal from tmobile and say theres no sim in the device.

How to remove root and lock the bootloader to return the device (H932 - Tmobile USA)

Hello everyone
In last couple days, i have no idea why that is happened, but my camera is not focusing in any app anymore. Tried reset, clear cache, different apps, smashing to the pillow.. but even on manual mode i can't change the focus. Decided to return to tmobile to replace. To remove the warning message and not getting into trouble with tmobile, which steps i should follow?
I currently have rooted stock rom
Thank you in advance!

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure you need to flash the entire KDZ, then adb reboot bootloader-----OEM lock
Sent from my LG-H932 using XDA Labs
You should be able to reflash laf if you installed twrp there, lock the bootloader, flash the kdz as refurbish in download mode (to reset the unlock counter on the bootloader if it works the way I remember, someone correct me if I'm wrong ) and you'll be back to full stock.
So this question is really just for T-Mobile H932? All other V30/V30+/V30S you just reflash stock KDZ via LGUP, then fastboot OEM lock.
Can you edit your title to put [H932]?
