Scrolling smoothness - Samsung Galaxy S20 / S20+ / S20 Ultra Real Life Re

Some phones exhibit choppy scrolling, especially when navigating long web pages when multiple apps are running in the background. Rate this thread to express how you smooth scrolling feels on the Samsung Galaxy S11 under such conditions. A higher rating indicates that scrolling is always buttery smooth, even when you're reading a 10,000 word article on "how to kiss a girl".
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!

Scrolling is not smooth, it's jerky and laggy ?

I'm finding that it depends on the web page. The google now feed (using Nova or Lawnchair) is the worst! My Mate 20 Pro was smooth as silk.

I have s20 5g SD and @ 60hertz, 96 hertz and 120 hertz very responsive and smooth. I have no complaints about performance just how fragile this phone is.. My phone fell off the bed to a wooden floor and now I have three large cracks on back of phone? Really, a $1,000 phone!

the s20's have gorilla glass 5 backs, not regular "glass" as you say. and 120HZ definitely makes the device smooth and buttery, i dont know why others try to run it @ 96hz... still better than 60, but you paid for a 120hz display ,utilize it.

When using the 120hz mode, it's butter smooth as it should be, when using 60hz, it's a bit jittery on the s20 ultra exy model.

Hi !
Because my wife had SIII, I can tell you that it does not compare these two devices, regarding as performance !
SIII gave me a very good impression, running flawless most of the games;
Here we have some issues regarding : device gets hot from time to time ( and varies from one device to another ), games and also browser !
But all these disadvantages must be understood, as is due mostly from his thin design, and also from his inefficient cpu based on lithography 40 nm.
Anyway the quality and design prevails, and will be long time one of the most attractive device to market .

Or you can get the P6S if you can find it.

I have had many android smartphones and I've always preferred metal ones like the HTC Desire Z but they get pretty warm when you play games or watch videos by the way they are 3 times more strong than plastic or glass ones (Samsung & Iphone) :cyclops:

Nexus 5x heat

Anyone who has already got the phone can give a user experience or test on the heating issue? It's s808 ultimately, although it should be better than s810.
The plastic back and front glass temperature before and after gaming would be best to tell the story.
Thanks in advance!
The only game I've played so far is sonic boom. On my S6 edge, that game was choppy and made the phone hot. On my 5X, the game was smooth as silk and no heating that I could feel.

I compressed about 5.5GB of data into a .zip file yesterday. For S&G I did the same operation on my hammerhead. The N5 was on fire and making funny smells. I had to keep waking up the 5X to make sure that it was still running because I never felt any heat from it. From my (limited) experience heat seems to be a non-issue.
This could be a good indication of what we can do when the source drops.

Galaxy S7 edge to Oneplus 3

Should I change my Galaxy S7 edge to OnePlus 3? I have heard great things about one plus 3. Fastest Android phone no lag best battery life etc.
i have had both ,i prefer one plus 3
S7 edge is almost twice the price, has a better camera (particularly in low light), is waterproof, and runs terrible software (touchwiz/grace)
OP3 has better performance, larger screen, faster fingerprint reader, and far better developer rom support
Depends?? From your post, I get the impression that you already have the S7E? If you already have and paid for the S7E, I wouldn't bother, unless you are looking to do something with the 1+3 that you can't with the S7E.

I can answer you better, as i changed galaxy S7 to OP3 just recently.
- Faster than S7, Stock Android, fluid, smooth, far less frame rates drop than S7.
- Sort of same battery life, but twice or three times faster charging, like just 15 minutes? (Not sure about effects on battery health)
- Slimmer phone, save you from sick curved screen, which is prone to break, bends image to make the screen unseable from sides.
If lag or loss of frame rate or touchwiz bothers you like it bothered me, when you will change, you will say you could not do a better decision than this.
Only other options can be Up coming Nexus, but heard they are very expensive, long way away, or iPhone if you are fine with limited functionality. Nexus will have software buttons, loss of screen real estate, and bit bottom bezel.
had the op3 for two months, got the s7e as an "upgrade" 2 days ago and i have changed back to the op3 today and selling the s7e.
battery life not as good and the screen response is terrible

Then close your eyes and get OP3, specially if you like stock android, or if you can wait, consider up coming Nexus. It will be tough battle between two.
I switched from the HTC 10 and like this thing WAY better. So smooth and better performance, no typing lag with swiftkey and snapchat runs as smooth as iPhone. Keep in mind I'm running RR.

Comes with the plastic protector as with the OP5, the case is also included. It's nothing fancy but will do while the case manufacturers catch up.

The Jelly effect is not apparent this time. I have the OP5 also to compare. Screen is obviously just inverted back to the correct orientation.
The phone feels identical to the 5
And the free silicon case is pretty thin, probably wouldn't trust it in a drop however its nice they thought to include it at least until more cases are available.

Call quality is on par with the 5 if you used that one. It's as expected from any flagship.
The screen is lovely. Super bright and the responsiveness is top notch. I love the slightly rounded edges also.

Yes, the screen doesn't seem to affect battery life at all either. I know from experience oneplus batteries get better with time. Or at least was the case with my 5. I topped an 8 hour SOT once. Looking forward to reaching similar levels with this.

Question Hinge quality

Hey guys.
How is your hinge on the Fold3 compared when you used a Fold2?
My hinge feels more loose compared to it, not stronger or more tight.
/CK
I mean how does it feel when you open and close it? Tight or loose?
/CK
Hinge is definitely tighter. It is the number one I noticed when I unboxed it and gave it a fold for the first time. Prior to the Fold3 I owned a Fold2 at launch. It should feel noticeably tighter.

I don't feel the shots are bad, I've been able to capture nice photos with the rear, I would prefer a longer zoom telephoto. That would come in handy. Otherwise, pics come out solid. B, not an A camera though. Lol. There's a long list of wants for the next iteration of the Fold brand. Camera's is definitely on the list.
Honestly, I can't go back to a normal slab. The first Fold may have been gimmicky, however the Fold 2 and 3 most definitely showcase the progression and I'm all for it especially now with S pen support.

Funny enough in a video I saw they where 3 people doing a comparing with s21 ultra, fold 3 and 12 Pro max and if I remember it right for them fold 3 won and 12 Pro max lost. S21 ultra came 2nd or if it was s21 ultra first and fold 3 2nd can't remember. But 12 Pro max failed in alot of their pictures such as it caused sky behind to be clearly white and other stuff that made them vote 12 Pro max voted out.

don't know about them, but fold 3 cant take pictures if the subject moves even a little, it comes out blurry also most of my photos came out in beauty mode like some kind of paintings. i have turned off all the beauty or enhancer settings

all my above experience is from indoor photos. maybe it performs better in outdoor, will check it tomorrow

Try clearing cam data and clearing the system cache.
Try using the tracking mode for moving subjects. Also pan back a bit to give more depth of field; the closer you are, the less depth of field and less room for AF errors. These are fast lens... your not shooting at f/5.6 or 8.

Tracking mode already on. Still same. Lol my wife still using the 10 plus. Same nightmare camera. Anyway I try the cam outdoors tomorrow. But indoors there's are lot of problems
Anyway I'm not worried about about the cam but i will certainly miss it
We can't have everything right. After using this for few hrs iphone feels like 5yrs behind in technology

Try using any of this junk after shooting with a pro cam and lens
The shutter release sucks unless I use my spen.
They do pretty good. Shooting is more the shooter than camera, learn the cam's limitations.
I got to admit though it's hard to take a bad shot with the Canon 70-200 f/2.8 wide open if you frame the shot right. It just grabs it.

what i mean is, i don't need to do these things(change that this) in 12 pro max, just point and shoot, the shots looks like a pro
but with fold 3 cam i need to be like a statue to take some nice shots

Try using active focus. The shutter lag is long too. It's hard to get a AF lock up on the eye, my Canon AF did that easily most times. You can also try manual focus but unlike a pro cam the phone controls are a true pain to try to use.
I don't buy these phones for their cams so it's not a huge point of contention to me but I do notice it.
Plain Jane iPhone... no way, they bore me to tears. Memory is way over priced as well and they support the CCP.
Samsung Android is a lot easier to suck up.
Samsung is still the most customizable stock phone on the planet... you decide how it looks.
It's a totally different animal that requires more user input and knowledge because of all the freedom to choose.
Learning is easy though... just play with it.
