When you root and install recovery, does the fingerprint work?

The global version is tolerable, but the chinese really makes it difficult. We need anything we can have even with no fingerprint and other.

Even can't change Launcher and default assistant and can't give any app device administration control???

Really hoping someone will get into this and works it out..

Now i´m gonna try it in my spanish vodafone defy.
EDITED: WORKING PERFECT ALREADY
GREAT NEWS
It works perfect in my spanish vodafone defy. No problems with the network, 3g or language (running in perfect spanish)

sadly, the moto launcher is still here, in fact i think this is not a true deblured firmware, but a much lighter one.
Read this - this isnt the vanilla android you were expecting!
Guys I have flashed this and compared to the previous firmware in the system app / framework department, and basically the only differences are the Blur social networking services have been removed and in there place there is a facebook (albeit an old version) and myspace, ohg a kindle ebook reader.)
The apps removed are:
FriendFeed
megamaid
newswidget
socialmessaging
socialshare
statuswidget
I seriously wouldnt bother flashing it - I have restored my back up.

this is probably true, i was trying to figure out what the differences are between this central europe "deblured" firm and the UK firm, and as far as i know there are also a useless greek keyboard, some icons changed, and the android logo at booting instead of the blur one.

I think there could possibly be a difference in the blurcontacts apk as the current one intergrates some social networking

follow this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=853674
just flashed it:
root -> OK
overclock -> OK
motoblur -> disabled
I still see my motoblur account and cant delete it.
Also I see some motoblur process, but it is not working!!
I log on to motoblur and see still the old version on overview.
It is also not possible to locate my phone any more.
Do I need to wipe my data to get the useless motoblur account deleted?
Which languages are included in this rom?
And finally Goggles does not longer crash my Defy.. It sort of is a bit hit and miss whether it does much of anything but at least it does not longer crash

I already said (not sure in which thread coz there about 3 or 4 on .the same topic). if someone provides me a dump of system/app + system/framework from this rom I will deodex and create an update.zip to apply JIT. I don't use this ROM so I'm not going to install it to get these files, but if someone gets the dump I will be more than happy to create a package for you all.
By dumping you mean a backup made using tenfars recovery I presume. I would have to install that first ?

A few pre-purchase questions about this phone

Hi,
I've been looking at buying this phone because my current one (Honor 5x) is a bit slow for my tastes but I just have a few questions.
1. If I buy the device from a Chinese vendor on AE/Ebay then will I need to use this guide to flash the global ROM to it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-max/how-to/installing-twrp-locked-bootloader-t3406501
I'm quite content to flash it myself since my last experience with proper Chinese phones (Elephone P7000) wasn't exactly a positive one and I would prefer an official Xiaomi ROM over anything custom. I also wouldn't want a rooted or BL unlocked handset and in any case Xiaomi's BL unlock authorisation process sounds painful.
2. Does the official Global ROM have full support for Google apps, DRM protected content, banking apps etc?
3. Does the official Global ROM contain any left over Chinese or is it 100% localised? I recall that my Elephone retained a Chinese bootloader and using the recovery menu when I needed to was extremely difficult. I can read quite a lot of Japanese but I don't know any Chinese and whilst a lot of the characters are the same, many others don't exist in Japanese at all or carry a different meaning.
4. Can I use Google Now over the MIUI?
Thanks in advance.

After reading the link you posted the answer to your first question is also yes, that's the guide you'll need to follow to flash the stock rom and twrp recovery (only if bootloader is locked else if it's unlocked then instead of edl mode, you can boot in fastboot mode)
re Question #1
if you buy a Helium model (64/128gb) the official global rom isn't out yet. It'll probably come out in August from what I can see. http://en.miui.com/download-302.html#446
However the China Dev Rom for MIUI 8 isn't thaat bad. Once you get through 10 mins of pain first installing gapps and installing an english keyboard you won't see that much chinese and most chinese apps can be uninstalled. It'll do you OK until a global rom is out.

I've gone for the 32GB/3GB version because the bigger versions were more than I wanted to spend really. Apparently the seller I've ordered it from are shipping them with the official Global ROM out of the box now so it should hopefully be OK to just pick up and go when it arrives.
Is there a global 64/3 version rom for the miui 7?

yeah.thats one problem of goodlock.if u want to remove.then flash the stock firmware through odin and then again flash twrp...it will be in previous state...else if u have any backup of system through taken by twrp before then just wipe system and cache and then restore only system.in this way u can save ur data.i think it will be helpfull for u.

Ok.thanks mate for ur information.i think its suitable with ur device.maybe u have less free ram in ur mobile to use this app.that's y it maybe slow down.here i have used before its working fine with mine.j500f nd i have checked its support for all mm devices.
I don't know it seems to work fine on J500 this app is optimized to work on S7 and S7 edge and probably on Note 7 too as it's not available for other devices on Galaxy apps so i think we need to wait little while
I have a j500f and i can confirm it works better than stock system ui.
For me its extremely slow and i have same phone but bigger display and more storage and more ram

Yes we can provide and test it
Can we discuss about this in telegram group
https://t.me/g5susers
Sounds very interesting.. What are the advantages/possible downsides of this OS?
The main advantages it isn't Android. Only use base libs and hal from android part.
Its purely based on Linux. Apps are native, or u can write it using QML.
U dont send statiscic if u dont want and u can control it.
U control whole system via swipe gestures (it was there earlier than in Iphone)
Different UI and feels conected with using it.
The main disadvantage for someone can be impossibility to launch android app (rom need to be stable and get permision to access Store, from where u can install aliendalvik - app for launching android apk)

as far as i know, sailfish os could run android apps natively. anyway, good initiative, fingers crossed
We want it
I'll be happy to help porting it blind (can't find mine atm lol, but it is around somewhere) until I either find my phone, or until it gets to hard to do blind. I'll need your help though, can someone who is running lineage 14.1 on their Montana get me a list of partitions and their names? That's an important step to get the boot image going, almost all the other work has already been done by kayesk.
Code:
ls -l /dev/block/platform/*/by-name/
ls -l /dev/block/platform/*/*/by-name/
ls -l /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/
One of those three commands should return a list, which is all I need to get the HAL build going. Oh, yeah, just in case, send me the output of all three commands. I think it should work both via adb and a terminal emulator on the phone, not too sure.
Oh yeah and as a disclaimer this is my first sailfish port, and first xda post in general, so good preconditions!
Is there anyway we can dual boot it. If so I would love to test it out!!

Question Questions about flashing to PE plus

Recently, I got a Poco F3 one week ago and I just don't like the UI of it and I want to change it to PE plus.
(In case this is important, I don't use any of the banking app)
Since I'm still a very beginner at flashing ROM, I have a couple of questions want to ask :
1. Is losing the Widevine L1 really a big deal? I saw somebody said it would make the phone not safe and more easily for hacker to steal your info.
2. Is it easy to update the ROM? like those minor bug fixes update. Do I need to flash the whole ROM again for that ?
3. what's the best way to back up the phone data (not all ,just those important one) without costing
4. Is there a way to install back the MiUi built-in camera? Since I think the poco camera app is doing quite good
5.If I don't like the PE plus, is it easy for me to switch back to the original MiUi, and will it get back my phone warranty ?
That's all the question I currently have,if someone know any of it please let me know. Thanks.
1. Did I lose L1 in my F3 ? I never checked. I have tablet for netflix like applications and do not see a sense to use it on small smartfon.
2. Some roms need upgrade by flashing all , some has build-in updater and updates only system parts.
3. I use google one with cloud and titanium backup with local storage. I do not know which is the best.
4. It will replace libraries of custom rom with MIUI versions and it is dangerous. I use gcam .
5. Miupdater is very easy to use. I never used PE, always LOS and now Arrow and never will return to MIUI.
