Fullscreen apps in landscape mode - Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ Themes, Apps, and Mods

I figured out that here would be the best place to ask.
I am struggling with the crappy fullscreen mode in landscape - the area around the camera is always either black or white. Did some tests - the most of the apps to not utilize the screen, where only the notification bar (being on the long side in landscape mode) does. Strangely enough, Google Maps and Google Translate DO utilize the whole screen in landscape mode, where as hangouts or gmail don't. This is with setting for full screen apps.
Did some reading and it seems like there are 2 ways - either the app forces the fullscreen or the OEMs. Did some tests with my own app at it looks like the only way for the app to appear fullscreen is to be allowed in the app. Is that so?
Does Gmail also have this blank area on other phones?

As you say, some apps use the full area, others don't, I believe the issue resides in the apps, not the device

Force youtube into landscape with orientation lock?

Hey guys,
I like to lock my screen orientation to portrait for mostly everything. Games and landscape apps override this which is fine.
The youtube app for some reason is stuck in portrait (it used to switch easily in CM9 on my old i9000m).
So I have to disable orientation lock for videos.
Is there anyway to force certain apps to disregard the orientation lock? I know CM9 has it, but I'm quite happy with the touchwiz features and don't want to switch.
I also want to know about this. My GS1 does it with orientation locked. Wish I could here too

I am still trying to figure out how to play in full screen portrait mode - somewhat like the full screen zoom option native in IOS -
Thought I could do anything I wanted the phone to do with Android.. lol maybe not -

[Q] How to always force full-screen keyboard?

The Note 2's display is large and hi-res enough to do certain tablet-like functions.
However, when I want to make a post on Internet forums (such as Google Groups) using the web browser, when I'm in Landscape mode, instead of displaying what I'm typing in keyboard landscape full screen mode, I see a small (useless) part of the webpage in the background.
I'm hoping there's an app or setting to force full screen mode no matter what software keyboard I'm using. Currently, I'm using Thumbs Keyboard (which only offers the opposite setting... force full screen off).
Check out external keyboard helper from Google play.

All apps are show notch, running granular immersive mode. Still bar above.

So i just got the phone last night and i applied both to try and force any and all apps to show notch so i can enjoy all of my screen. Idc how i have to do it but for whatever reason when i open certain apps, they still overlay a gray, white, black, empy bar where my notifications would normally go and its very frustrating.
I gave granular permission, put full screen on every app and even told every app to show the notch... Is there any other way to bypass this issue so i can get any app regardless if it likes the aspect or not to show the notch and remove this bar?
Could still use help with this https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/471469010672812033/544203189558181900/Screenshot_20190210_120903_com.facebook.katana.jpg

Are just some examples. White bar is where it should show the app and if it were digital, my notch
I have this problem with certain apps even forcing show notch just turns in showing a white bar instead of black in landscape.
I don't think there's something we can do about it atm, I guess it's more of an app incompatibilities with notch since it works perfectly with some apps and not the others. Not sure if it's on Huawei or Dev's app side.
When it doesn't work It's better to let it black than white for your screen.
Thankfully I'm glad I'm not the only one and it's not just a me problem. Thing is. IDK how to force a certain color up above. Like for example if I use Nova to swipe up as search, it will just put a white bar up there... And you can see someone else is doing it cause for a split millisecond it shows the operation as intended with just the search box. Quickly after though it sticks that bar. Same thing with for example Sao internal factor (game)
When you start up the game it'll give you the entire screen, but soon as you check your mail or news and close them, the white line takes over where the notch is. Very frustrating and I feel like it's in the system, not the game... But who knows I could be wrong
I just hope a mod or fix is made soon because if I had know I would not be able to take advantage my entire screen, I would never have bought the phone

No Panorama Mode in the G8 Camera. What App are people using instead?

This has really surprised me as my V20 and V30 both had that option in their excellent camera options menu.
Got it on mine. LG820UM
I have it on the US T-Mobile version, which version do you have?
On the Camera app, swipe the text (Camera, Video) to left and select more, then you will see Panorama.
We even have 360 pano as well, and you can take a vertical pano with the phone held in landscape.
When you tap "more", all the other modes appear. When you tap the pencil icon, you may rearrange the modes in the sliding menu, as well as in the More menu. I have only 5 sliding menu options, so I can see them all without swiping: Pano, AI Cam, Auto, Night, More. Then when I tap More, I have the manual modes at close reach.
Only two issues bother me here (well, 3 really). First, the More menu can sometimes rearrange itself. No matter how many times I try, it still forces AR Stickers to the closest menu item. This wouldn't be an issue if they'd address my second problem and let us hide modes we'll never use. I hate AR stickers, Food mode, and will likely never use Youtube Live. For me these are just overcrowding the menu and wasting space. My third issue is that they never had to redesign the camera app in the first place. The text-based swipe mode menu is a huge waste of space, and it often thinks fine tuning the sliders in Manual is actually a swipe to the next Mode (unless you're jjjuuuuuuust perfect with thumb placement).
LG should not have jumped on the Apple style bandwagon. If we wanted a Korean Apple, we'd buy Samsung. With how un-Apple the restvof the phone is, and how well-designed the app was before, the choice here is a little baffling.
Instructions, including the in-app help text, are incorrect on panorama. DrivenKeys has it right.
In my case (Canadian G8), the panorama and time lapse mode were not installed by default.
When clicking "More", at the top right corner, beside the Pen icon to rearrange the order of the icons, I have a download button.
This brings straight to LG SmartWorld store where pano and time lapse mode are downloadable.
Hope this helps!

Landscape notch area usage.

I found a problem with some apps that run exclusively in landscape mode, the notch are is not used.
I, unlike others, am a fan of the notch, and I always want to use the full real estate of the screen. Even the launcher refuses to use that zone while in landscape mode... And while most people hate the notch, remember one thing... we are rocking IPS not OLED... so while the notch is off, you can still see light bleed from it, which for me, it's annoying as hell.
Is there a way to force apps to use that zone while landscape? I came across discussions from essential phone and oneplus and they can natively (because customization level) force apps into full screen mode.

This Magisk module will do it.

It's a system-wide toggle though, not a per-app toggle.
