TapTap (double tap on back gesture ported from Android 11) by XDA developer Quinny899 - Xiaomi Black Shark 3 Pro Themes, Apps, and Mods

Description: Tap, Tap is a port of the double tap on back of device gesture from Android 11 to any Android 7.0+ device. It allows you to use the gesture to launch apps, control the device (including pressing the home, back and recents buttons), take a screenshot, toggle the flashlight, open your assistant and more. Using "gates", you're able to block the gesture from working in scenarios such as when the screen is off, when you're on a call, when an app is open and more. (taken from original thread)

This app works great on Black Shark 3 pro.
sometimes the aggressive memory / battery management closes the app but works fine otherwise.

doesn't work well
it just locks the screen off but doesn't wake at all from sleep properly.

How do I download?

Double tap dim and triple tap max screen in aw2?

Wondering if there is option to turn on the double tap to dim screen and triple tap on the button for max brightness in aw2?
Just updated but it seems like the funtion is not there by default. It's one of the more useful shortcut I constantly use with aw1.5.
No such thing.
Yeah, they removed all the essential functionality I was using frequently. Good job.
I agree it was a mistake to remove this feature. Google specifically made AW 2.0 for the LG Watch Sport though and said forget everyone else without an ambient light sensor. The Bubble Launcher dev recently found a way to add the shortcut back, but it breaks the Assistant shortcut in the process.

Is double tap to turn off screen possible

As the title suggests is it possible to double tap on empty area of Home Screen to turn the phone off just like we use Double tap to wake the phone.
This was an inbuilt feature on Asus Zenfone 5z and seems counter intutive to have only one option to turn the screen on and not off here.
Regards
One option; with Nova launcher
Yes, likely via custom ROMs.
Also, probably via custom launchers. Nova Prime allows double-tap to "lock screen". Double tap to "screen off" very likely via a specific 'Nova activities' option but I haven't figured this out yet.
EdXposed ---> install GravityBox ---> it's then possible to turn screen off via double-tap on lock screen or via double-tap on status bar.

You can use edge screen. SoftKey Edge. There is a lock option. It is not double tap but it works.
you can add the screen off icon at navigation bar with a samsung app called Navstar, with that you can single tap to turn off the screen
Good Lock - Navstar adds a navigation button to turn the screen off

I dont see any gestures for that in nova launcher?
You must have the prime license, in gestures&inputs there are multiple options to choose from, for each gesture you can choose any action available, you can even have the same action assigned to multiple gestures, I use one finger down to lock, and also double tap to lock

As i already have Nova prime, this worked perfectly. Thanks.
Nice just learned something new. Used nova star and added screen off and notification bar button. Now I have 5 buttons readily available.
Wish you could open and app with a button. That way I can reserve the power double tap for another app.

Feeling seriously numb right now. I've used Nova (Prime) for years, and never knew that was there. Searched all over for a good program to sleep/ lock. Found a very simply one (Screen Lock Widget 1.0) which is no longer available, but I have. Works great. No resources used. But having the ability in Nova is great.
So.....thank you for sharing that. It's the simple things in life.
It makes no sense why Samsung would give us the means to tap awake our screen but not add that option to turn it off.
That was a weird decision for not including double tap to sleep. It's like making an automatic car with clutch where the clutch is only used for the reverse lol.
Anyhow, this is by far the best app on the playstore that can put the phone sleep and still use the default One UI.
The nice thing about it is that you can also tap on the status bar to put the phone to sleep while using an app for instance.
Tripe tap on the home screen is recommended though, you'll understand why after using it for a while

That is very interesting, I never use always on display and it seems like the Note 10 has a lot of issues. For instance Samsung voice recorder app doesn't play recorded audios while the screen off( stops playing after 2min or so).

I just tried Nav Star app from within Good Lock (From Samsung App store) and added 2 extra buttons.
Thanks to the user who recommended it earlier, now I can turn off phone as well pullbdown notification bar from the Navigation bar, if I can get used to these extra buttons I might as well keep them.
Yes software wise they do need to improve a lot of things here.
1. First Install Good Lock :
http://apps.samsung.com/appquery/appDetail.as?appId=com.samsung.android.goodlock
2. Then Install Nav Star : http://apps.samsung.com/appquery/appDetail.as?appId=com.samsung.systemui.navillera
Well, very useful indeed, but I prefer hiding the nav bar, just to avoid screen burn in and to get some more screen area

What is SideSqueeze+?
SideSqueeze+ is an app that brings extended functionality to your unrooted (or rooted) Galaxy device, helping you to do more. It is only compatible with some Samsung Galaxy devices from 2017 onwards.
Your privacy is valued. This app does not contain ads or employ trackers, nor does it collect or harvest your data in any way. It does not have the ability to access the internet, regardless of whether or not special permissions are enabled, as can be verified in the app's manifest file.
SideSqueeze has grown beyond just squeezing & pressing and has become SideSqueeze+. A core feature is still detecting both squeeze and press gestures via the analysis of barometric sensor pressure data, but SideSqueeze+ now does much more by means of the "Plus" module. Additional functionality so far includes: fingerprint unlock vibration (for both front and back fingerprint scanners), face/iris unlock vibration, customizable fingerprint unlock actions (start the camera when you unlock with a certain finger, etc), navigation gesture vibration (satisfying haptic feedback when using navigation gestures), slice gestures (chop the edge of your hand against the screen and slice up/down to do things), double chop gestures (similar, but instead of slicing down, just lift your hand), status bar flick gestures (flick down very quickly on the status bar to do something), lockscreen tap gestures (triple tap on an empty spot of the lockscreen to do something), automatic biometric lockout (secure lock your device with as little as 1 failed attempt), power button long-press, various volume button combinations, S Pen button press remap, S Pen button double-press remap, S Pen button long-press, S Pen Note10 global air override (wave your pen at any time to perform home/back/recents/etc), S Pen inserted, S Pen removed, and miscellaneous (which consists of: 1.) accidental touch protection options, 2.) option to not turn the screen on after unplugging the cable/removing from wireless charging, 3.) option to open an app when the Buds case is opened).
Tip: If you are not interested in squeezing/pressing and would like to use this app just for the Plus module features listed above, simply switch off both squeeze and press detection. This will completely suspend the analysis engine, and leave the Plus module functionality intact.
IMPORTANT! For the Plus module to work (as well as certain actions such as: immersive status/nav toggles, rotation toggle), a command has to be run from a computer via Android Developer Bridge (adb). Instructions can be found from within the app on the Help tab. This step only needs to be performed once.
What can it do?
Some examples...
Squeeze your device to go home
Slice and/or double chop with the side of your hand to do things
Disable biometric methods after only 1 failed attempt, or if a certain finger was used
Double squeeze to start a voice assistant
Triple-tap the lockscreen to turn the screen off
Play a sound when fingerprint accepted
Triple squeeze to perform a Tasker task
Start your music app when Buds case is opened
Use the S Pen to control most streaming services
Bring back force pressing your screen to go home (while screen on)
Make power button long-press start the camera
Vibrate when you unlock your device with a fingerprint, or face
Choose a finger that will automatically do something after unlocking via that finger, like immediately starting the camera or automatically disabling all biometrics when a certain finger is used
Remap S Pen button press, double-press, and long-press
Play a custom sound when S Pen removed/inserted
Use S Pen air actions anywhere, and assign them anything: wave down to go home, wave up for recents, or anything you want
Press both volume buttons together to do something
Press volume up and power to do something
Press volume down and power to do something while the screen is off
Control the camera with your thumb: Volume roll down-to-up to start the camera, press volume down to take a picture, then volume roll up-to-down to close the camera
Features (not all available in trial mode)
No root required
.
Lightweight app, only 3 MB
.
7 detectable squeeze types (single, double, triple, quadruple, long, long double-squeeze, and inertial)

I'm going to say once you get the hand of the app its fantastic! Get use to it a bit then but the pro version its definitely worth it.works great on my note 10+

Really nice app buddy! I cant get the hang of Squeeze or the hard press features but I am loving the PLUS features with the Fingerprint scan vibration and getting my flashlight working with the Power button long press.
Thank you!
Still Loving this app. Quick question. Do the plus features mess with the always on display automatic brightness? Seems like my aod brightness is always low now. Could be my imagination

New version released today!
Version 2.13
Volume button stuff now works on 8.0 (Oreo)
Added scrolling actions
Added color coding to Plus tab
UI changes for better usability
Fixed UI bugs
Big update, with new features!
Version 2.14
Lots of fixes for Android 10 (Q)
Add: Automatic Biometric Lockout to Plus
After as little as 1 (or more) failed fingerprint or face attempt(s), your device will secure lock itself and only a PIN (or password) will be able to unlock it.
Add: Navigation Gesture Vibration to Plus
This feature provides robust and customizable tactile feedback whenever the new swipe navigation gestures are used. It is designed to be a replacement for the generic vibration from "Touch interactions" in System Settings, therefore that setting must be OFF.
Add: Slice Gestures to Plus
Slice Gestures are like chop gestures on your screen, but instead of sliding horizontally you vertically slide down (or up). They can be used on any screen without interference.
Add: Status Bar Flick to Plus
Flicking down on the status bar VERY quickly can trigger different actions depending upon how many fingers were used.
Add: Triple Tap Lockscreen Gestures to Plus
Triple-tapping on a blank area of the lockscreen can trigger an action. There are a total of four quadrants, and each can have its own action. Eg. media control, panic mode, force secure lock (disable biometrics), etc.
Add: Accidental Pocket Activation Vibration
Add: S Pen Insertion/Removal to Plus
You can perform an action when the S Pen is inserted, and/or removed. And for Android 9 (Pie) only, there is also an option to automatically show the navigation bar while the S Pen is out.
Add: actions to control ringer (silent/vibrate)
Fix: Air overrides not working in some apps
Thanks to a sharp beta tester, air gesture overrides should now work for all apps.
Fix: improved calibration algorithm
The calibration algorithm has been much improved. It will no longer suggest stupid things like -100% gain. It should also operate more concisely now.
Fix: improved squeeze detection
Fix: improved long squeeze detection
Fix: play/pause action works more reliably
Fix: home criteria works more reliably
Fix: appswitch action fixed for Android 10
This action should work more reliably now, and across more potential configurations.
Fix: got rid of buggy seekbars
Fix: action to start Bixby works now
Fix: Power Long Press is more reliable
App now opens to last used module
For users who don't use the pressure modules, the app will now open directly to Plus (or whatever module you last had open).
Long pressing on quicktile will start app
Long-pressing the SideSqueeze+ quick settings tile will now open the app.
Many UI fixes and improvements
will it work with other devices besides samsung
Start trying today. Looks promising
Working great on Pixel 5 (Android 11) with squeeze option. Purchased immediately, great job!
I will try all other options soon.
One question up to now:
Why squeeze don't open app when phone screen is off (locked or unlocked). Squeeze works (i get vibration feedback) but app doesn't show up until I turn on screen or clear lockscreen ...
Thank you!
I can implement this, but I don't see the use for it due to the fact that the lockscreen is always up anyway. What were you using it for?

I thought that option "hen screen off" mean that squeeze will start app in case when phone is not secured/locked.
I'm using squeeze for opening "phone" app, so in case when I'm @trusted place (smart lock) phone is not locked and it would be nice that squeeze directly turn on screen, "jump" over lockscreen and show phone or whatever app you choose.
Btw I also noticed that sometimes after phone is locked (and goes to to deep sleep) squeeze don't work. Randomly, I can't find pattern. I gave all permissions to app (device admin, notifications on, battery saver disabled).
And one more thing. What is the little transparent dot on top of the screen - in the middle?
Edit: I found same question on Reddit:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/co...el_5/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
So "dot" is prox. sensor?
Some posts about it:

Am I the only one getting the proximity sensor problem when the app is enabled?
Edit: I'm using a Pixel 5, forgot this isn't the pixel sub ?

Question Remapping Side Buttons?

What's the best method people are using to remap what the aide buttons do? I would do this on my S21, to do things when I held the power button or volume buttons. Is it possible here?

Old style back, home and recent button

Hi, is there a way to add the 3 buttons at the bottom of the screen for the back, home and recent apps that I used to have on me s21+ I'm now using pixel 7 pro and no back button is killing me haha, I will attach a photo of the buttons I mean, thanks Ian

Would love this if you know where I can find it, thanka
Found it, thank you very much
Short guide:
Tap the Settings icon to launch the Settings app. Scroll down and tap on Accessibility.
Scroll down to the Interaction Controls section and tap System controls.
Tap System navigation.
Tap 3-button navigation or Gesture navigation.
Tap the Settings button next to Gesture navigation to change the sensitivity of the screen to the Back swipe gesture. Use the Left edge and Right edge sliders to tune it
Might there also be a setting (maybe within Nova?) to switch the return and app buttons? On my galaxy they were the other way around and it's quite annoying on my pixel 7 pro :')
