XA1 Ultra DRM keys - Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra Questions & Answers

I read somewhere in this forum that xa1 ultra doesn't have DRM keys and it was told by an authorized sony support. I'm running android 8.0 and it says FIDO_KEYS: Not provisioned
I tried to check one unit on our local shops that runs nougat and it says that the fido keys is provisioned. After I updated it over the air with android 8.0, it says the same thing now that the keys are not provisioned.
Can someone who owns an xa1 ultra confirm if they fido keys are provisioned or not on android 8.0?

SE will launch unlocked Xperia Ray in the US.

Sony Ericsson has released the 3.3-inch Xperia ray into the United States. The phone will not be found on any carrier though, it is being released in a sim-free unlocked version only, where it can be purchased through online retailers such as Newegg for $379.99. The phone is not compatible with T-Mobile’s 1700MHz AWS frequency band, but should work fine on AT&T’s 3G network. It will be available in four colours (gold, black, white and pink) and will come with Android 2.3.4 out of the box.
What this says to us is that, much like the Xperia arc, Sony Ericsson has not managed to get carrier support for this fine phone. The Xperia arc is being sold in the US through similar distribution channels and has so far not seen any operator pick it up. It looks like the same fate will befall the Xperia ray, which is a shame.

but now the Question.
The Ray will be released with unlocked Bootloader .
And how can Track ID work when the Bootloader is unlocked ?
Cause if we unlock the Loader of our Arc Track ID doesnt work anymore.
I think it said ray is sim free(not bootloader unlock), it can be use on any carrier. it's unlike other band se phone, the fastboot will be enable. User can unlock the bootloader from SE site for free.
its unlocked phone, means sim free, not unlocked bootloader..

Do all A50 model variants have NFC or just the devices with "N" in the model No?

Do all A50 model variants have NFC or just the devices with "N" in the model No?
Trying to piece together the info on which A50 models with which firmware variants support Google Pay and Samsung Pay. For instance there's a SM-A505G and a SM-A505GN, a SM-A505F and a SM-A505FN. I was under the impression that the "N" in the model number meant the device has NFC and devices without the "N" do not?
Yes

Is there any definitive way to know which firmwares on which models support samsung pay, or which LTE bands are supported on which models? There's SAMMOBILE, but it doesn't have all A50 models listed and not sure if the LTE info is correct on there or not.
A505W supports NFC
The Canadian version A505W does support NFC. I am using one right now.

No dual SIM on that one though right? Does Samsung Pay and Visual Voicemail work on your A50?
I don't think the N in the model numbers corresponds with having NFC or not. The last 5 characters of the model have something to do with the region and country.
Any mid range phone that doesn't have NFC these days should be a crime

No dual sim, Samsung pay works.
My service provider doesn't use visual voicemail so I can't comment on that.
Just learned that my new A505-F / DS does NOT have NFC. I was setting up GPay and says it does not support it. Doing a search, seems that the FN does.
Also FM model have an NFC (+MTP for magnetic stripe card emulation).

There is a NFC chip in Samsung A50. The part number is GH42-06264A . So, even though the model number is same, they may manufacture with or without the hardware. If the hardware is there, they may have disabled it. For ex: All Non-US Mobile phone manufacturers were asked to disable NFC chip by the US government.
Also, You need DRM keys to enable the hardware. As far as I know, there are no such keys released by Samsung

How to get dual sim functionality on S20 ultra us unlocked snapdragon version

Hello everyone.
Apologies if someone has posted a fix for this anywhere earlier but can't seem to find it. So I was wondering if it's possible to enable esim functionality (1 physical and 1 esim) on us snapdragon s20 ultra unlocked. I really need that for home and work life balance. I am open to flashing a firmware to enable esim functionality provided the device supports that firmware. Would be glad to buy anyone a coffee for guiding me on this.
Hi,
If you are unlocked flash the decoded csc features from magisk

I am also looking at the same issue. I have a s20 plus snap dragon. Single sim. Can I buy dual sim tray and insert it? I am in Canada and Bell says they support esim. But can't tell me if esim and separate physical sim will work with my phone.

in this eSIM thread it seemed to work on S20
eSIM?
So, I've read in several places the US N20U has eSIM. I see the eSIM control app is in stalled. But that's all I see of it. Even an article here on XDA says all N20Us have eSIM except Japan, Korea and China. Can anyone confirm? And if so, how...

I guess you can try out textrapp's esim, they are very reliable. I use this during my international travel.
https://textrapp.com/esim/home
ESIM is hardware related, you will not able to do it on S21 FE since it does not contain the eSIM hardware, but I think the S20 does. Some providers can give you a normal SIM, which can be able to use as eSIM as well.
