Hi! How were you able to take the 50 percent limitation off?

Using various guides I was able to get most of the retail mode stuff removed. I didn't take very good notes as I was going but could probably dig up what I used if anyone else needs help.
Aside from the 50% limitation, I also have:
1. After reboot, the list of Second Screen compatible apps resets to default
2. Fingerprint reader not usable
Anyone had any luck on either of those?
I also noticed that someone on ebay was selling demo units flashed with a tmobile rom. I spent a bit of time yesterday trying to flash stock retail roms but didn't have any luck..

I've found a not so great workaround for the charging limitation. Seems like whatever process is limiting the battery charging to 50% is not executed on the factory reset screen. I've gone into this mode on my LG-Wing and have been able to charge the battery completely (just make sure you don't accidentally select yes+ok). I know this is terrible since the screen can't be turned off here and it's mostly just black text on a white background at max brightness, but I thought it'd be worth mentioning. I may try out a few other things later today to see if I can find something else around this charging limitation that could be of any help.

Thank you,Ial try that right now! And maby flashing it could help, but as much as I have tried I have been unable to.

Nice spot! It means definitively there is a process to watch on.

Hello, I too have an LG Wing Demo unit with only wifi. When I try to use
the LG Demo app with this pin code 103729, not correct pin. When I get to any point where the next password (L310MC570G) would fit, it also does not work either
My Wing is a Verizon demo.
Any help with any alternate passwords and pins would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks!

I saw something about in the v60 demo remove thread that flashing Verizon and then TMobile firmware got all the limitations off. Don't know the first step on doing this myself, I also cannot find any correct password to enable developer options but I'm waiting for any help from anyone.

Any chance you have a link to that? I haven't been able to find it after searching.

I apologize twice 1st don't have a link but 2nd I do say I'm sorry I said the wrong forum. Actually it was in the LG wing guides news and discussion thread titled success! 5g working on demo LG wing. I got a response from the fellow and we texted quite a bit about it but he said his laptop with all the info was on consignment until the 2nd (Thursday). So I thought we could work some sort of deal out but it hasn't happened yet. Apparently flashing the correct image file 1st and then a different image after worked for him. I'm still interested in doing this but not in a hurry like I was at first, I am having a hard time finding the Verizon firmware.

So I searched again for passwords and I found a reddit lgwing thread that helped me even though the wording isnt very helpful. will update below with any updates
the passwords are found here
https://www.reddit.com/r/LGWing/comments/o1tegn
this page says some less than clear wording so i prefer to say this:
When LG Demo app asks for code use the short one 103729.
If the ok button isnt available like for developer options, use the long password L310MC570G
then you enable adb debugging etc as shown in this thread
Retail mode removal
Please could someone kindly show me how to remove the retail mode on my new V60 ThinQ handset.
forum.xda-developers.com
so what happens after the above is it changes it from you cant do anything to you can do things like power off by putting in the longer password (L310MC570G). sadly the biggest snag still is that it wont go into download mode it just goes into the charging animation (powered off) so cant flash anything until this resolves. my other issue-free wing goes into dl mode no problem.
now it will adb reboot recovery so that might be something hopeful?
anyway if anyone knows what is wrong please help.
thanks.

Anyone can tell me how to adjust it. ?
What font are u using now? looked like Korean to me. First of all u have to understand that in 96DPI most fonts will look really small, that's why I use Verdana for the system font because it is bigger. Also some fonts have the tendency to scale out of displayable windows.
Yes i am using korean font. brother you stay in KL.... im in SG....
initially it show normal size.
But there was problem on displaying korean font.
And i try a few way to make it work for korean. then this problem comes out.

Perhaps you can do a full export of your registry using Regedit tools (dont use PHM Regedit) and send them to me. And please also include the font itself. Maybe i can find out what's going on.
Looks better.
Thanks for your comment.
I tried many other type of korean font and finally i got bigger font to display.
Hi, goodmanz,
OT but, How did you get korean locale(month & clock on your today screen)? (I'm korean)
Did you install DioPen or SmartCJK?

Hi ...
Just curious, i am not on this cooked ROM yet as i am still finding a way to backup the official ROM. Is the latest cooked ROM marked i780DXHE1 for both Phone and PDA ROMs?
co6ra,
i780DXHE1 is the official rom. The one which EFN cooked is only the PDA rom. There is one standard pda rom file available but if you want to do it yourself, it is relatively easy to do it. There some tools that make it easy for you.
By the way, how's your gps? Have you managed to find a fix?
no....i have gave up trying...i think i have tried not less than 20 hrs.....
I have sent back the unit to the SSC thru my colleague. I am back to my old Benq P50. the screen looks so yellowish....
according to my colleague, when he sent the unit to SSC yesterdat, the front desk person claimed that it is the gps software issue. He said he will flash that unit with the latest ROM and test it again. If no luck, he is asking my friend to bring it to Agis support. I hate this kind of Tai-Chi service, troubling money paying customers...
guess u have backup your PDA ROM and make it flashable? Can u share with me?

That is crap! Your friend must really make noise. Don't forget that when we buy the device, it is clearly stated that Agis is bundled together with the phone. And if Agis software does not work well, it is their responsibility to make sure that the bundled software works well.
If WM 6.0 do not work well, can they say "Please take it to Microsoft?" If the ARM Cpu is faulty can they say "Please take it to XScale?"
Also, getting the signal is through the qualcomm gps chipset. You have prove that the signals are not captured (your log is the proof). This has nothing to do with the software at all.
Another thing is that there are plentiful of people who got their devices working, using the same software. If it is software issue, people would be first in line to file their complaint.
You have your rights, and it is only right (pardon the pun ) of you to exercise them.
Tell your friend not to go to Agis, that would be pointless. If a trip need to be made, it has to be the Samsung Service Rep, not you, not your friend.
ya..i know...but my friend has no knowledge in PDA at all. He does not know how to argue with the front desk personnel. I totally agree with you in the product service, we buy that unit as a bundle from Samsung, they have to make sure it works. If i were there, i sure argue with them.
Korean Fonts
Hey goodmaz,
Would like to know which font set are you using to display Korean? Did you install Diopen or SmartCJK (as asked by eunjea) or just changed the registries after installing a font set? Would like to get my i780 and wife's to display Korean.
I did not use third party software
if you can read korean, you can go to korean web site www.naver. com
you register as member and join to cafe related with M480 , i780.
you can find valuable tip and file.
you can find hangul no 5. you can see korean with this. also you need to install korean locale tool kit. you can able to see korean font. some of ROM not able to read korean. even though you install previous 2 software. then you need to change font.
cheer.

I have just bought a BA of the bay with wm6.1, and Ive come across this screen with this cool batt indicator, and I was wondering if it comes with wm6.1 or will I need to download a prog to get it, and if so any idea whats its called??
Just been browsing the net and the software is called "SPB Mobile Shell", basically it totally transform windows mobile. Anyone using it on BA and what do you think of it, is it worth buying?? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unHH0xIlQWU&feature=fvsr
its great and really useful but i wouldnt didnt and wont buy it
oh and by the way i was looking at that (i thought i recognised the clock somewhere) on ebay and how much did you get it for, im thinking of selling my baby times are hard.

£60 in total, but Im not happy cos the p&p was £7,he has only just posted to me today, and I won it tuesday night. So prob wont get the phone untill tues or weds
recieved the phone this morning and it has SPB Mobile Shell aready installed, Is there anyway to tell if thats in the rom so if I do a hard reset it wont loose the software??
Also it appears that the phone is locked to orange, the guy said it was unlocked, but the phone wont accept my tmobile or virgin card. So how do I unlock it??
1. for sim unlocker, have a look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=240784
2. in general, programs installed are gone after hard reset. but maybe, just maybe, the previous owner wrote a custom extrom and put it in the actual extrom storage, that is technically possible but very unusual, what you can do is:
- check your memory, if it says 60.30 mb, you don't have an extrom, meaning after a hard reset, EVERYTHING is gone, maybe even office and other system essentials.
- if your memory states 43mb, you still have an extrom, so either the previous owner flashed the device wrong, or, as mentioned before, he maybe made an own internal extrom, if you go to the wiki and download the extrom_unlocker, you can unlock, then unhide it and check, which programs will install after hard reset, because they are listed in the extrom then.
Sorted out those 2 probs and yeah the mem was 60.30mb. After a lot if messing about with it I decided todo a hard reset cos couldnt get ie running from wifi. I said yes to 2 and 3 in the boot loader, but now when I turn it on, R and G has no numbs anymore but G says 5.60.00 WWE. Also When the screen goes off or when I turn it off, the power button wont turn the screen back on unless I do a soft reset... What have I done and how can I fix it???
PHEWWW, Just done another hard reset and all the numbs have come back and it seeens to be turning on ok now..phew
Im pleased to say this phone is doing everything I want it todo, mainly remote desktop so I can control winamp on my main pc from in bed,
1 small prob, not really important I guess, but its saying Im on t-mobile, but Im on virgin. Is there a easy way to get it saying the correct network on the today screen??
ive had that problem and i think i have a rough explanation.
I am with ASDA mobile, now they use Vodaphone's signal towers and when im on the today screen i see vodaphone - not ASDA. But when i stick the sim in another phone (Sony Ericsson K800i) it says ASDA Mobile.
So the reason is that our blue angels dont accept being forced to display "ASDA Mobile" (in my case) but my K800i accepts getting told what network to display from the sim card.
How odd, anyway its not a big deal. Got another question for you guys, is there anyway to make the scrollbar in the contacts wider in wm6 so its easier to scroll. Cos im not using SPB Mobile Shell anymore, as I need to make the phone as easy as possible to use, cos both my mum and I use it and shes not to hot with gadgets.
Edit: Also whats the best registry editor for wm6??
Just realise you can scroll though the contacts with the buttons on the phone, and to be honnest I think that will be even easier for my mum.
Ive also install "slide 2 unlock 2", that has a cool feature, so when your in a call the screen goes blank so you cant accidentally press something with your ear or whatnot.

The bad thing about reporting these exploits, is that it allows for the people that are liable to steal someone's info/device to know exactly how to do it. It's great to precaution owners, just wish there was another way to alert users.

True. But then it becomes more difficult because how can you determine if those users wont try to steal someone info? Its hard
yes everyone needs to be educated on this exploit because in no way will anyone ever use this to learn how to unlock a stolen phone.
makes sense.

Well now that they know they can take preventative measures to keep it from happening, like using another lockscreen thats not stock, or flashing an AOSP rom.

Well obviously he has to state it like that or no one would be able to replicate the issue and believe him. Seems like you have better ideas as to how to do it, mind sharing?
I dont see the big deal, if someone steals your phone and cant access it, they will just do a factory reset and you will lose any chance of tracing and recovering your phone or remote wiping it.

If it was me, I'd send Samsung a message about it. If that was the video poster's intent, he could've went about informing Samsung another way. People that find lost GS3s will definitely find this now. I know somebody who's found an ipod that had a PIN on it and the first thing they did was google how to crack it.
Still, this video also serves a purpose to inform those who can fall victim to this. It's a hit or miss. Samsung definitely is aware of the issue now, though.
Of course any exploit is a problem, but put it in perspective.
First, the criminal has to have physical access to your phone. This in itself makes it much less worrisome than most software hacks that you can download.
Second, according to Engadget:
"Despite literally hundreds of attempts in front of the lens and several more behind it, we've only managed it once -- we found it impossible to nail down the correct timing between the home and power button pushes."
and also from Engadget:
" Samsung has responded, confirming a fix is indeed on its way:
"Samsung considers user privacy and the security of user data its top priority. We are aware of this issue and will release a fix at the earliest possibility."

So, the blogs stir up a frenzy, make some money on click-thrus, and it gets fixed.
Nothing to see here,
Temporary Fix (Makes it much harder to exploit)
Temporary fix:
1) Download another launcher like "Go Launcher". Set it as default.
2) Download and install another lock screen like the "Go Locker" and set it up.
:good:
The problem is Samsung's Touchwiz launcher, getting another launcher is the only thing we can do until we get a fix from Samsung. This exploit takes about 5 minutes every time if you sit and get good at doing it. Dont kid yourself, this is very easy to reproduce.
In theory installing another launcher will make doing this much harder to do but will not completely eliminate the chances of getting exploited. This is because the touchwiz launcher still rears its ugly head when you reboot your phone. But if the attacker cant exploit your phone by the time the new launcher is loaded in the background then they have to restart your phone and try all over again.
I'll test it tomorow.hii
I found it simple to repeat. It took me 5 tries to get it. I am not that concerned about it but my work probably would be...

Tried this with multiple scenarios and activating "with swipe lock" in addition to password or pin will prevent it from working because the swipe lock will always come up even if you're seeing the home screen.

Nah, "with swipe lock" in addition to password or pin doesnt change anything. My friend can still break in within 5 minutes. Then he laughs at me. the only thing that shut him up was changing the launcher and lock screen to something other than touchwiz. :highfive:
I tried on my Sprint S3 and I couldn't re produce the exploit can somebody be more speciffic on how to do it exactly with the button combo. So I can try again.

Question 120Hz not working on Mi 11x

Hello All,
About 1 Month ago, I updated the phone to Miui 13.0.4 and ever since, the 120Hz mode on the phone is not working. Has anyone else encountered this as well? has anyone found a workaround for this?
TIA and regards.
Rule #1, if a OS is fast, stable and fulfilling its mission, let it be! Updates, upgrades can and do break things.
Try a factory reset or a roll back if that fails.
Possible hardware failure.
Hello Blackhawk,
Thanks for the response. The phone has been working fine so far. just that the 120Hz mode won't come on and it is bothering me.
I took it to the service centre and they said since the software update broke it, a software update should fix it. but the 13.0.6 didn't but I guess it is because it was just a security patch. The bigger problem is that in the whole waiting ordeal, the device is past the warranty so if it is a hardware failure, I am screwed
Do you think there is a possibility that a hardware failure would cause the 120Hz mode to stop working but the screen will operate fine?

It's possible but if it started with an update, that's likely the cause or an incompatible app or service.
Try in safe mode (a 3rd party app maybe the cause), try a hard reboot.
My N10+ is still running on Pie, no OTA updates in over 2.5 years. Current load is 2 yo, still fast and stable. 2 years, still malware free...
Security is not an issue on Pie or higher unless you do something stupid in actual use as far as I have observed. Android 9 or higher are patched for the worst of the rootkits. Security patches don't save dumb bunnies... most install the malware themselves.
Thanks for the reply Blackhawk.
I will probably just wait for the following bug fix update and if that doesn't help, factory reset or install a custom from while praying it is not a hardware issue.
I tried the safe mode and that didn't show an improvement,
I was familiar with the laughable stability of MIUI and unsure what possessed me that I decided to update.

Did you try going back to 60hz then activating 120hz?
Mods like clearing battery app cache / using setedit do lead to this after reboot - display is locked to 60hz but it fixes itself if you toggle it on/off

I don't think it's a hardware failure. Not just like that. That'd be too ridiculous.
I'd say try clearing data of Battery & performance, and checking with the app "SetEdit", if "user_refresh_rate" has a value of "120".
@blackhawk Also, Samsung has the most reliable System updates. You can fight me on this.

Lol, no need to fight. No updates, no problems.
In over 2 years of not updating the firmware malware infection rate has been zero.
No time lost to malware.
Samsung app updates have cost me over a dozen hours to fix in that time period. OTA firmware updates (especially if the bootloader) though can cause the most permanent damage on Samsungs.

I have tried toggling it and I was not using any sort of mod apps. Still, it happened though.

Android's wuv attention
Sure, I'll give it a try.
One side note, Any idea how to change the customer region to India from Chine, I am trying to add my phone but it keeps showing 86 as the country code and won't let me change it and mi support is unhelpful is an understatement

Yeah, I was trying to unlock bootloader and then it got stuck at the checking security settings and someone suggested adding the phone number to your account manually but here is the problem:
I got to recovery phone

Just create a new account then?
Via PC or phone browser create new mi acc and link it to your phone number.
Only when you do that connect it to the phone and go through the unlock period...

Well, If there is no other option and Mi support is that useless, I might as well. Just that I like to keep all my accounts under the same ID.

Question Experience any bugs on the Vivo X80 Pro? Let's share and help each other!

So the few of us that bought this phone so far probably encountered some bugs here and there.
Let's share them and try to help each other, or even make Vivo aware of it.
1) Not Vivo exclusive, but the LTPO 3.0 display never drops to 1hz for me.
I've read it happens on S22 as well, OPPO, ONP phones.
Will update more in the future.
My refresh rate is set at 120hz but why does it still go down to as low as 10? Shouldn't it remain 120 no matter what since that's where I set it?
That's how LTPO works, in order to save battery as well.
You barely notice it though, i also set 120hz and i don't feel when it gets down.
set light mode and brightness more than 70% and screen will go 1hz at still.
problems - a lot of apps crashes/not start. diablo immortal not working at all

From 10hz to 1hz probably won't make much difference anyway.
As for Diablo immortal, it works great here no crashes at all.
Have you tried clearing the cache out?

But isn't that what smart switch is for? Why have the option for smart switch, 60, 120 if it'll always switch anyway? I feel it's what's causing the stutters even when I'm just scrolling
you have global rom (funtouch) or CN Origin?
Diablo works fine when i got device (OriginOS) but after last update of firmware a lot of apps wont work now

You are right, the stutters are due to LPTO 3.0 and the way Vivo implanted it.
They might fix it, but we need to ask them.

Yeah I hope they do release a fix. Not that it's a deal breaker but I'm just used to smooth scrolling with my Pixel phone
Well let them know then.
I'll open a ticket.

Just curious, one question to the owners of funtouch os: do you have google lens integrated into your camera app enabling a barcode scan?
I do not find any possibility to do that with the global (origin os, Chinese) version. Apparently one needs an extra barcode scanning app...

You can scan barcodes in Jovi Vision.
Camera -> More -> Jovi Vision.
But I think only chinese barcodes are supported.
It didn't work for any euro barcode I tried.

I've noticed that after using the vivo 50W wireless charger to charge the phone to 100% then checking battery health in devcheck or any other app for that matter it will show "Overvoltage" in battery health. Sometimes it happens randomly during the day. It will return back to "Good" after rebooting the phone but then after a while it will show Overvoltage again. Is this because the phone has dual-cell battery? A software bug? Because I'm not having any battery issues whatsoever like overheating and battery backup has been great.
Whilst using night mode sometimes, the phone takes too long to process. Then ends up turning the picture into a fully green picture. So none of the original image is saved. Only green screen. Any ideas on how to fix this?
