Question Experience any bugs on the Vivo X80 Pro? Let's share and help each other! - Vivo X80 Pro

So the few of us that bought this phone so far probably encountered some bugs here and there.
Let's share them and try to help each other, or even make Vivo aware of it.
1) Not Vivo exclusive, but the LTPO 3.0 display never drops to 1hz for me.
I've read it happens on S22 as well, OPPO, ONP phones.
Will update more in the future.

My refresh rate is set at 120hz but why does it still go down to as low as 10? Shouldn't it remain 120 no matter what since that's where I set it?

That's how LTPO works, in order to save battery as well.
You barely notice it though, i also set 120hz and i don't feel when it gets down.

set light mode and brightness more than 70% and screen will go 1hz at still.
problems - a lot of apps crashes/not start. diablo immortal not working at all

From 10hz to 1hz probably won't make much difference anyway.
As for Diablo immortal, it works great here no crashes at all.
Have you tried clearing the cache out?

But isn't that what smart switch is for? Why have the option for smart switch, 60, 120 if it'll always switch anyway? I feel it's what's causing the stutters even when I'm just scrolling

you have global rom (funtouch) or CN Origin?
Diablo works fine when i got device (OriginOS) but after last update of firmware a lot of apps wont work now

You are right, the stutters are due to LPTO 3.0 and the way Vivo implanted it.
They might fix it, but we need to ask them.

Yeah I hope they do release a fix. Not that it's a deal breaker but I'm just used to smooth scrolling with my Pixel phone

Well let them know then.

Just curious, one question to the owners of funtouch os: do you have google lens integrated into your camera app enabling a barcode scan?
I do not find any possibility to do that with the global (origin os, Chinese) version. Apparently one needs an extra barcode scanning app...

You can scan barcodes in Jovi Vision.
Camera -> More -> Jovi Vision.
But I think only chinese barcodes are supported.
It didn't work for any euro barcode I tried.

I've noticed that after using the vivo 50W wireless charger to charge the phone to 100% then checking battery health in devcheck or any other app for that matter it will show "Overvoltage" in battery health. Sometimes it happens randomly during the day. It will return back to "Good" after rebooting the phone but then after a while it will show Overvoltage again. Is this because the phone has dual-cell battery? A software bug? Because I'm not having any battery issues whatsoever like overheating and battery backup has been great.

Whilst using night mode sometimes, the phone takes too long to process. Then ends up turning the picture into a fully green picture. So none of the original image is saved. Only green screen. Any ideas on how to fix this?

How To Guide HOW TO CHANGE THE SCREEN REFRESH RATE OF THE POCO F3 TO 90HZ

If we want to increase the battery life a little more, we can lower the refresh rate of the screen from 120Hz to 90Hz, thus we will achieve extra savings without having to put the screen at 60Hz.
To achieve this, we download the SetEdit app from the Play Store.
Now we will do the following steps:
1.- We check that we have the screen at 120Hz.
2.- We open the SetEdit app, we look for the record "user_refresh_rate".
3.- Click on the record and edit it with the "Edit Value" option.
4.- We will get 120, we change that value to 90 and press “Save Changes”.
5.- We close the SetEdit app so that the changes are saved.
Now the screen will have a 90Hz refresh rate, we can check it with Display Checker, although there are other applications.
Greetings.

Hi, I have already set it by adb with the command (adb shell settings put system user_refresh_rate 90).
But with the last version 12.0.4.0, I have problems wtith AOD, the screen stays black sometimes and even if I unlock my phone with fingerprint I heard it 's ok but the screen stays black ! I must wait one minute till I can see something.
So I don't use it anymore.
Do you notice that ?
Yes, AOD don´t work but for me that´s no problem. Greetings.
Do you think we can set the framerate with tasker ?
So when it is locked, I will put 60, and restore the value when unlock ..

Hi, I forgot to say you that the changes are reversible, if we want to put it back to 120Hz or 60Hz it is as simple as going in Settings to Screen and re-dialing 120 / 60Hz. Greetings.
Hi sipiral5, Does the setting still remain after rebooting the phone? Thanks...
Hello, no, it did not stay, you have to put it again. Greetings.

Tried this on Xiaomi.EU 12.5.3.0 today, everything working including AOD and Battery Saver returning to 90Hz after off.
Hello there. Thanks for sharing this topic. So I'm an Mi 10T Pro user. I wan't to put that refresh rate to 120. But in the options, there's 60, 90, 144Hz. But adaptivesync does support 120 depends on the app. So i tried this trick, but nothing has changed. I also tried to put it at 90 and still nothing happens. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks.
I needed to reboot the phone once done to get it working (on xiaomi.eu 12.6.16 (haven't tried on previous ones).
I also see that SetEdit app has access to some intrusive permissions by default. So uninstalled it right after 90Hz set.
Thanks !

Question 120Hz not working on Mi 11x

Hello All,
About 1 Month ago, I updated the phone to Miui 13.0.4 and ever since, the 120Hz mode on the phone is not working. Has anyone else encountered this as well? has anyone found a workaround for this?
TIA and regards.
Rule #1, if a OS is fast, stable and fulfilling its mission, let it be! Updates, upgrades can and do break things.
Try a factory reset or a roll back if that fails.
Possible hardware failure.
Hello Blackhawk,
Thanks for the response. The phone has been working fine so far. just that the 120Hz mode won't come on and it is bothering me.
I took it to the service centre and they said since the software update broke it, a software update should fix it. but the 13.0.6 didn't but I guess it is because it was just a security patch. The bigger problem is that in the whole waiting ordeal, the device is past the warranty so if it is a hardware failure, I am screwed
Do you think there is a possibility that a hardware failure would cause the 120Hz mode to stop working but the screen will operate fine?

It's possible but if it started with an update, that's likely the cause or an incompatible app or service.
Try in safe mode (a 3rd party app maybe the cause), try a hard reboot.
My N10+ is still running on Pie, no OTA updates in over 2.5 years. Current load is 2 yo, still fast and stable. 2 years, still malware free...
Security is not an issue on Pie or higher unless you do something stupid in actual use as far as I have observed. Android 9 or higher are patched for the worst of the rootkits. Security patches don't save dumb bunnies... most install the malware themselves.
Thanks for the reply Blackhawk.
I will probably just wait for the following bug fix update and if that doesn't help, factory reset or install a custom from while praying it is not a hardware issue.
I tried the safe mode and that didn't show an improvement,
I was familiar with the laughable stability of MIUI and unsure what possessed me that I decided to update.

Did you try going back to 60hz then activating 120hz?
Mods like clearing battery app cache / using setedit do lead to this after reboot - display is locked to 60hz but it fixes itself if you toggle it on/off

I don't think it's a hardware failure. Not just like that. That'd be too ridiculous.
I'd say try clearing data of Battery & performance, and checking with the app "SetEdit", if "user_refresh_rate" has a value of "120".
@blackhawk Also, Samsung has the most reliable System updates. You can fight me on this.

Lol, no need to fight. No updates, no problems.
In over 2 years of not updating the firmware malware infection rate has been zero.
No time lost to malware.
Samsung app updates have cost me over a dozen hours to fix in that time period. OTA firmware updates (especially if the bootloader) though can cause the most permanent damage on Samsungs.

Question Throttling with Game Turbo

Hi team.
Is anyone experiencing overheating issues while gaming with Game Turbo on?
I got the phone throttle while playing Diablo and Call of Duty with the default in-game settings.
Tried several different Game Turbo configs but none of them makes any difference.
Tried resetting the phone, although it is new, with no luck...
Disabling Game Turbo solves the problem.
Reproduced the issue with 3DMark.
Disabling Game Turbo yields lower but stable results.

I don't mind the lower graphics but I like the in-game menu Game Turbo provides.
Stock MIUI 13.0.5, Android 12
Game Turbo (Security app) 6.2.3
I had overheating issue while recording the timelapse on the sun.
After 20 minutes of 30-minute timelapse phone stops with overheating message.
I didn't enable performance mode or Game Turbo mode at all.
I think that the phone will work well in normal conditions but if you push it will overheat due small size and not enough room for proper cooling.
have you tried disable joyose app?
Lot of conflict report but many people say it's the culprit.
I debloated my 12X few days ago using this guide - https://lucacesarano.medium.com/xiaomi-super-bloatware-list-2020-db38ace9e9e1

the phone doesn't overheat and throttle while playing without Game Turbo, despite its small size;
perhaps the sun heated up your phone additionally

The phone is stock, default EU version. Just debloated. I am planning to unlock the bootloader and install Xiaomi.eu, but that will wait a little bit.
I didn't have any issues with debloating so I presume you will be fine. Of course, debloat the phone at your own risk.
I usually don't use the phone for gaming so I don't know what to do in that part.
I use DND and power save mode overnight, not that this will help you, but it might save a little battery time.
Also, I tried to play Diablo Immortal for a few hours and didn't experience any issues. The phone got warmer, but that's it.
de-bloated the phone - all apps from the suggested list were removed, including Joyose, although some were not even installed;
the good thing is that everything seems fine after the de-bloat;
the bad - my phone still throttles...
Security and Battery and performance apps updated and all data cleared;
rebooted;
Edit: I enabled the Perf Optimization option in Turbo (disabled by default), and hallelujah - no throttling
That is great to hear!
The issue re-appeared a couple of weeks after the initial fix...
No auto updates.
No Joyose app.
Disabling Game Turbo (with Battery and perf app data wipe) is the only fix so far...
Will update relevant apps and will post results soon.

for me it is very annoying - previously I used to enter my password once a week and now it happens to me several times a day because the failure to recognize my fingerprint several times forces me to use a password (and I have a long one)
I have no problems with fingerprint recognition. But since I updated 4 days ago, the fingerprint reader didn't "light up" on turned off screen several times already.
I also experienced very heavy battery drain the day after I installed the update - 35% over night, then ~15%/hour during short geocaching hike. But rebooting the phone fixed that.
Other than that, I don't really see any difference in speed/performance - I feel it's identically great as it was before.
Oh and the new "pocket detection" screen with swipe up is really annoying and difficult to unlock.
Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone else lost the ability to use the cellular band selection hidden network setting - under the Call Settings menu? I'm not able to access it in Android 13. It says the app is no longer installed.
This is the menu: com.samsung.android.app.telephonyui.hiddennetworksetting.MainActivity
Update went smoothly for me, no hiccups or crashing problems after it.
Biggest problem I've had so far, like jenda.69 mentioned, is the new accidental touch protection screen, not sure why Samsung felt the need to change something when it was already working well. I could not for the life of me unlock the screen.
Other than that, I'd say everything else is pretty good. Mini stutters from OneUI 4 are fixed, like the ones that happened often in the quick settings menu. Personally I prefer the animations from OneUI 4 but I don't have a problem with the new ones either. The new clock font options are pretty slick as well.
Lastly some nitpicks; The default animated call screen is gone which is a very minor thing but I did like that gradient animation a lot and how it changed according to contact pictures. New one is pretty dull. Samsung didn't make use of the new Android 13 media player either which is kinda disappointing but I don't have too big a problem with that.
Overall a decent update. 9/10 has a little something for everyone

General New update firmware

Dunno if there’s an actual difference since i cannot compare to others however the version number differs as in Eu the files are numbered from 4 instead of 3

Yes I noticed this. I'm comparing if there's a difference now lol
What problems were noticed on v4.12?

To me
Afterparty launchers didn’t carry some gestures from the original launcher (swipe apps and accidental touch)
Some mistakes in some translations and some margins in some buttons
Kill all apps button in the show all apps screen didn’t work properly
Audio problems with some dongle dacs (though don’t think it will be addressed)
Security patch from November (i mean… not a biggie but still its nice to be updated)
Notifications not showing up from time to time
Don’t know if anyone else experienced this but sometimes the brightness “flickers” or dims up and down in low light condition, don’t know if anyone else addressed that
That’s all i remember as of now
Security Patch is January 1, 2023
Performance seems fine so far. Didn't have any issues before.

The brightness flicker is really annoying in the morning/evening when it's really noticeable... hopefully that's been fixed
I think they will fix something with the update since they pulled it out yesterday and hasn't been available as of yet

So what do you think is the phone better after the update?
The full install package fixed a ton of things for me, including sound drivers, issue with dts, some colors in the notification menu and the screen brightness problem at night
