Development Paranoid Android Ruby Alpha 2 - OnePlus 9 Pro - OnePlus 9 Pro

On the first launch, you’ll notice a clean setup with a beautiful wallpaper from Hampus Olsson, who teamed up with us again to create several beautiful pieces of artwork. Hampus is a multi-disciplinary artist whose design stands for itself and we’re glad to have him onboard. We also added further UI touches that we believe enhance the overall user experience. You can find all of the Paranoid Android wallpapers and many more in the Abstruct app, included in our builds.
Our builds are based on the Code Aurora Forum Android base, which is optimized for Qualcomm platforms and has a higher degree of performance, battery life, and functionality compared to the Android Open Source Project platform. The Paranoid Android team and contributors are focusing on squashing existing bugs, and implementing and improving features, performance, and stability. We are dedicated to providing a user experience with the stability that you can expect from stock ROMs with best-in-class performance and features to help you get the most out of your device.
Device-specific issues
Permissive.
You tell.
Note: Custom kernels are NOT supported unless the kernel says it supports PA and GMS is included!
Oh, this works on the Non-Pro variant for the most part (they are unified).
If you want to use Google Camera, i would recommend you to try Wichaya's Port.

If you want to make a bug report that's nowhere near specific enough, you should be capturing logs to supply and advising EXACTLY what "problems" you are having with touch.

There was a problem that I can't understand. My comment is not being edited.

Too many RR/Resur. Rec. ROM. / What are the differences?

Hello brothers,
I see many, too many RR ROMS. I really try to understand what the differences are.
I read the first post, but it doesn't give me that extra information I looking for.
Please, can you guys tell me what the (big)/(small) differences are?
This one are now availble all: (sorry for my horrible English).
[CAF][Sultan-ized][UNOFFICIAL]Resurrection Remix ROM [5.7.4][May 1]
[LOS][OTA]Resurrection Remix N[UNIFIED][OMS][7.1.2_r8][21 MAI]
[Official Rom][Unified-Builds] Resurrection Remix [OP3/3T][May 10]
[7.1.2]-ZeNiTy-RR-Evolution-[EAS-VOX]-[OMS]-[Magisk]-[MicroG]
[OP3T/OP3][Sultan-ized][UNOFFICIAL]Resurrection Remix ROM [5.8.3][May 9]
So I see some, LOS, OTA, CAF.
But what more? And .. Which one is the most stable with best battery life?
I really don't have the time to install all of them and try it
Thanks in advance, guys.

CAF= provided with drivers developed by Code Aurora Project, which are more reliable than others;
LOS= based on LineageOS, useless wording since CyanogenMod is no longer supported;
Unified-build= developed for both Oneplus 3/3T;
EAS= kernel scheduling system (HMP) aimed to power saving https://www.linaro.org/blog/core-du...core-dump/energy-aware-scheduling-eas-project;
VOX= another kernel scheduling system (HMP) aimed to power saving https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...kernel-vertexos-blazar-zenith-kernel-t3571781;
OMS= means that the rom is provided of Sony framework, so Substratum should be fully compatible;
Sultanized= rom tweaked like the user @Sultanxda does.
I would discourage you to install Resurrection Remix.
With Lollipop it was simply perfect, with Marshmallow it became a bit unstable, with Nougat it completely lost stability.
I hope to get wrong (since my latest RR installation goes back to January 2017, now I'm on Dirty Unicorns).
Personally I would stay on Official build for a better support: Resurrection Remix is a derivated of a derivated (RR-LOS-AOSP), it's already "messed up".
The Sultanized variant should be greatful, but it's still based on Marshmallow.
However there's the EAS-VOX variant, which should be excellent in terms of battery like and provides also Magisk, Substratum support and microG.
So you've to choose: for the best stability go with official RR, for the best experience go with EAS-VOX variant.

No, that's Spanish ?
In Italy we say Grazie!
Yeah I'm very happy.
The latest stable release (v11.4-20170506) is simply perfect, the only issue is the lacking of USB OTG support.
You have most of the RR tweaks, even OmniSwitch, you have also the useful Op. App menu and Substratum support (that should be absent in official RR).
You have the essential, dialer is provided just because needed in a phone... otherwise they would remove it ?
User is fully master of his device.
The only suggestion is to be careful when installing weekly builds.
They are not so stable as said by developers.
Good luck

Official RR also has OMS support. The first post just isnt updated i think.
I am always looking for the best ROM.
At the moment I use LineAge from sultanxda.
I install Dirty Unicorns, AOSP Extended & Phoenix version, RR official and eliminaters version, crDroid and watch videos about other ROMs.
RR has really everything and every feature of any other ROM I tried. So the all-in-one package is RR. The version from eliminater has TugaBrowser and some extras like Google camera etc. I hope I remember correctly.
But then I go through every feature and compare with LineAge and I saw, I don't use any other feature than LineAge features.
So I try LineAge from sultanxda for battery life now to see, if it is better.
I have no experience with kernels and changing kernel settings and I am not sure, if I want to do that. I hope, sultanxda has made everything automatically.
I think, a comparision thread for all ROMs here would be very helpful for new users, because here are so many ROMs, kernels etc. :silly:

Those two are not true, these are not features but replacement of the whole HMP system from how the CPU handles tasks to frequencie usage. I cant say too much about it but it aims for better peformancr/per watt and yes with the right setup it achieves this. EAS incombination with Voxpopuli did not only increase battery for me. But the magnificent part comes to peformance.
Voxpopuli is a really smartway of input boosting, yes we need input boost for a smooth UI experience. Voxpopuli can detect swipes and touches. The faster you swipe the longer it boosts to be sure it will give the Smoothest experience you can have, touches boost way less then swipes.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Alright so I'll reflash Zenity since I had it before with very slow fingerprint and stuff. I won't restore anything this time. I let google play download the apps that I was using before but I won't this time. Don't know if it will effect anything but this is very slow! I can't keep going like dis ;-;
I'll flash a all new clean Zenity and share it with you.
Yes it is laggy the time that passes while I wait for screen to turn on is longer than the earth's existence..

I'm genuinely interested in LineageOS, but what's keeping me from it is the camera. Could you tell me in percentages or some sort of scale just how bad it is compared to the stock? And btw, would Google Camera ported with HDR+ work better? Thanks

AEX (AOSP Extended) and other Official GSIs are the best Images You can get for now (No big Bugs). Only one unofficial GSI was running good for Me and that was Pixel Expierence from XDA. I really have to find a way to edit the Vendor Content of our XZPs to gain more Features and stuff Like that. There are just many things i miss on my Xperia which are available on My AMOLED Axon 7 after editing the Vendor/OEM Image manually with Root... But no Wonder, the OEM Images are directly from SONY... But i'm looking Forward. Treble is the best what happend to Android in all this Years

The Prices are low atm and it's just a Solid Piece of Hardware combined with Treble. Was thinking about Xiaomi for her but the G8141 plays Out the Most actual Devices in the Price Range (~300€). Only real Upgrade for me could be a XZ3 but looks like that has to wait now...
Edit. Think the XZ Premium has the better Design and Speaker Layout. But damn, i would Like to have a 1440p OLED SONY ?
@OP
Could You add the Vendor Partition to the Wipe Menu ,and System and OEM/Vendor Options in the Image Flash Menu from TWRP? I have that Options on My Axon 7 (OKI Labs TWRP Mod from XDA). I'm also unsure if the AROMA TWRP Patch Out of this Forum is already included. The TWRP Versions we use is a bit older i think (3.1.xxxx).
Everything besides Bluetooth is working really Well. Performance is a lot better compared to My Axon 7 and more will be possible after playing around with the Vendor Content. Great Base to Play with!
Thanks again! I'll spent a Coffee next Year!
Just modified the source codes and complied it.
@Miustone how's the camera in our XZP with AEX? Is it still as 'grumpy' as it was on Oreo?
I remember you working on enhancing the camera for AOSP.

The SODP team has done a lot of work on Pie GSI compatibility. I just use the existed partitions and modified source code to make treble works on XZP.

It is much better right now. Full Camera 2 API Support including RAW and with the right APP like Open Camera do You have full Control of everything. The Sleep Dead Bug is with AEX no problem btw. Just enable the Always on Display Option and it will never sleep. Battery is pretty good and i get over the whole day with LTE+, Wifi and 4hrs+ Display usage. The Treble Kernel is really good and with some fine tuning with Kernel Adiutor is everything even better
I'm playing right now with the Vendor Partition eg. the build.prop and gained already some nice optimizations like better responding Ok Google Commands and better Noise Reduction. I think there will come soon some good stuff to Treble on our Xperias :fingers-crossed:

LineageOS 17.1 - Xiaomi A2 Lite - Development Only

I have some previous experience building rom from the WIko Wax and the Huawei P8.
I run the Xiaomi A2 Lite as my daily driver, so I can't afford to test this ROM.
I do not know if this will even boot. As I said, I need you members of this forum to test this and tell me what works and the ROM's performance.
This ROM is based on LineageOS 17.1, so that is Android 10.
With a bit of luck this should work out of the box. It is here, that I should thank the pople from the Team Potato here https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a2-lite/development/10-0-posp-v3-q-daisy-t4011191 They are the ones who made most of the work to bring Android 10 to this device. I have just modified it a bit. Once again, props to them.

It is a zip, I suppose that it will be possible to flash it through TWRP, just clean flash as much as possible. I am not responsible for any harm this may do to your devices.
Again, please only post with feedback on the ROM, logcats would be useful as well or some benchmarks. I would like to make this stable and if possible official with Lineage. I know this forum is a mess, but again it is only for development. I will make propper one if this ever works. I need testers, thanks in advance. And props to the Potato Team

heyo,
I have a few things to say:
- Your bringup is a mess
- Do your bringup on these trees https://github.com/PotatoDevices/device_xiaomi_daisy/tree/6180e3d5870834981e5f41424014047038ca235c
https://github.com/PotatoDevices/vendor_xiaomi_daisy
That will fix audio and cam
Thank you so much for your work. Imma fan of Lineage since the beginning and would prefer it over stock rom.
I dont want to be rude or anything but your bringup is quite a mess in my eyes and why is audio and **** not working for you since almost everything works fine here besides the wifi dsplay and fm radio

SD card works, calls I just tested with my other phone, LTE later since I don't have it at my current location. GPS works pretty good. I never used ANTUTU but will give it a try later.

Yeah they are a mess, getting started ?, haven't done this in a while. Yeah, this is pretty much your tree with your latest commits and some changes to convert it to a lineage tree. I also ignore neverallows to let the build finish. I will have to eventually deal with them to make it into an official build. In the meantime I plan on hosting an OTA server on my own. I am not hiding that most of this is your work, it is forked and I thank the POSP team and other devs who worked on the A2 Lite, thanks again. I just prefer LOS and there seems to be demand for it so I'm here trying to build it.
I don't think that there is a need for anyone to argue, we all have the same phone, more ROMs are always welcome and merit should be given where it is due, which I think has been done.
I will make another post in the following days, where everything is properly outlined with some more explanations.

oh no you got me wrong, Your credits were alrights its just that your source is a mess and that trees i linked have the issues like cam and audio fixed and nope more roms is not a great idea because we had a buildbot apocalypse earlier during the pie days we had like 42 roms at that point
That's awesome news @reujea0, congratulations!
LineageOS is all I need for this phone.
I'll move to this ROM as soon as it gets close to official (I use it as my daily driver).

Yeah, can completely agree with this, but tbh I feel like Los is a must for any phone. I'm not saying that it is better/worse than other ROMs but anyone in the scene knows it and most of them are stable and close to AOSP.

Please enable signature spoofing for MicroG
LineageOS still my favorite ROM.
Well, hope will be official soon.
EDIT : Could you please share the change log if the update is released ?
1st of all thank you so much, for starting this missing project, this afternoon i'll report more!
1. ZIP wouldnt install through TWRP (error: to Edit later) (deleted System/Data/Cache Stuff, from Android 9), so unpacked payload.bin, and flashed manually in fastboot from stock 9.
2. One permission which is needed for MicroG with Playstore (no gapps) I think something like certificate/signing spoofing is missing. (Specify later)
Besides that feels quite stable, safety net passed with opengapps/magisk, can comfirm wifi, camera, sound works. Noticed nothing wrong, will test more today, right now writing in this Rom!
Someone asked for antutu Benchmark? Could not run it, inside the tutorial the "which OS are you using" wasnt clickable, probably because off the app itself? But:
3D Mark
853 points - my A2 Lite LOS 17.1 > 56% than other A2 Lite's
(Average)

Good morning Master, as far as I know there is not yet a twrp for this device, how will a custom ROM be installed without Twrp ..?
I also wanted to know if a Rom based on AOSP will work ..?

In the link that you cited you have an unofficial Twrp, let's remember that there are specific models such as the 4 and 3 gb ram variants, and also those that come with NFC, that Twrp reports more failures than successes.
