What lineage os version is the most stable and best for daily usage? - Xperia Z1 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm looking for a rom for my xperia z1 compact and I was wondering which of the lineage os versions is the most stable and best for daily usage? Preferably anything above android 7.0.

I am using LineageOS 17.1 for some weeks, it looks little bit like stock rom on XZ2 compact and works very well. Sadly, i have broken proximity sensor so in call i have all time black screen but overall excellent rom.
I havent tried 18.1, because i prefer android 10.

Latest vanilla. Maybe you should try reflash .236 original .ftf file with flashtool and try again.

Or try new battery.

Best ROM for Zuk Z2 ?!

Hello,
I open this post to know what is the best ROM in your opinion
The features I'm looking for are:
-> compatible with U-Touch feature
-> status in stable or nightly build
-> updates OTA
In your opinion what is the best Custom ROM for my requirements?
Thank you so much for your help
Same here, I'm more and more annoyed by the stock rom. Every customisation (launcher etc) needs to be set every 2 days. I understand that the CM14.1 mod isn't fool proof yet. So I'm looking for a (nougat-based?) stable rom as well.
In the next few days harsha from zukfans will release a stable CM14.1 with all the features that you described.

Harsha said he would continue working on LineageOS instead of CM14 since Cyanogen is shutting down.

tried most of the custom roms out there, Mokee is the most stable for me, and is the only custom rom with regular official OTA updates
https://download.mokeedev.com/?device=z2
Lineage OS just came out for our beloved Z2 : http://zukfans.eu/community/threads/lineage-os-14-1-android-7-1-1.1976/ (plus not pro version !)
want to know about mokee rom

Zuk z2 is the same as Lenovo z2 plus or zuk z2 plus. Zuk z2 pro is a different device.
So the zuk z2/z2 plus can run the same roms
I installed the MoKee ... excellent ROM and very stable!

mokee is the only one that has ota official updates right now, and it's stable
Does Mokee support U-Touch and finger-press
I have compared LOS-14.1 version 6 and Mokee nightly from 19.01. Both ROMS are very similar, actually I have tried first LOS-14.1 and have set up all my apps and afterwards I have dirty-flashed (wipe cache/dalvik/system) Mokee and gapps-mini. Everything works pretty well, and I have made also an incremetal OTA-update from Mokee-Center-App, which works pretty well and only downloaded 17MB. My impression is, that Mokee works slightly better, despite also LOS-14.1 can be used as a daily driver. Both ROMs are stable. For example, substratum is already installed in Mokee.
Concerning U-touch, I do not know what in ZUI can be set up, but the default-actions for the home-button's are working well, i.e. swipe left, right, down, touch ...

Okay u have installed Mokee and over Mokee LOS 14.1 ?

Is an AOSP, Lineage OS, etc. GSI works fine on the phone?

Hello guys,
I want to switch from Honor 8 to Xperia XZ2 Compact, but I fear from a serious issue: the lack of custom ROM support. I haven't seen any ROMs specifically developed for the XZ2 Compact in the development thread yet, but there are always AOSP, Lineage OS, Resurrection Remix or Carbon ROM GSIs on the rescue, but I'm not sure if everything works fine. Can I install them as my daily driver OS or just stick with the factory Sony ROM to avoid issues with the OS?

Will the ZUK Z2 get Android 11?

I found Android 11 announcements for several devices.
No announcement for devices with the Snapdragon 820.
Google did not even announce Android 11 for the Pixel 1.

Considering the fact tat devices much older than zuk z2 are still receiving updates through custom roms...I feel that z2 plus will also receive andriod 11 once it is out
Of course dude it doesn't depend on soc, it depends on who can make the android built
How about this Android 11 for Zuk Z2?
Well, this update is via a LineageOS 18 build.
Already out
Custom ROMs like lineageOS18, ArrowOS, PixyOS
Yes all ROMs are in Alpha stage so don't expect stability there are bugs both device side and gapps related also so wait untill it become stable and have patience

Confused: Why 32bit only OS on Moto G5 64bit hardware?

Hi!
If I understand things correctly, my Moto G5 phone is born with an Android OS version that only accepts 32bit code, although the hardware is 64bit?
Why did Moto do that? It sounds like selling a car with a 6 or 8 cylinders engine, and only use 4 of them...?!
And on top of that, I discovered they stopped updating that (primitive 32bit) Android 8.1.0 OS in February 2019...
Should I switch to a custom 64bit ROM? NB!: Stability and robustness is more important to me than fancy new features...!
I found 2 lists of 'Best ROMs for Moto G5'. The shortest recommends 8 here:
https://romsx.com/best-custom-roms-for-moto-g5/
So which should I choose?
NB: Moto G5 only has 16 GB.

You will have to ask Motorola for the answer to the first part
As for custom 64bit roms:
Lineage 17.1
Lineage mint (based on lineage 17.1)
ASOP android 10
Are the latest custom roms for this device (see dev section)
All will have the same issue with regards to camera/video recording not working fully

Thank you for your reply!
But what about ROMs that have been more tested in real life, where camera and video etc. work?
Yes - it is Motorola that should answer my first questions. I don't expect any answer from them... But others might have a comment...

All 64bit roms will have the camera issue as Motorola have not released updated camera libs
The roms I listed above are the latest roms which will have the camera bug minimised but you will still experience issues in some apps like only being able to take a certain amount of photos before the app freezes, camera not working in low light, green tint, video not recording/saving and so on. You can use various other apps but nothing is perfect and you may still experience issues
The only fully functioning custom rom with no bugs will be the 32bit lineage 14.1

That is the most useful information I have yet seen about custom ROMs - thank you!
But according to https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5/development/7-1-x-lineageos-14-1-moto-g5-t3611973 LineageOS 14.1 for Moto G5 is:
ROM OS Version: 7.1.x Nougat
Last Updated 2018-03-18
And the 'stock' OS on my Moto G5 is Android 8.1.0 updated in February 2019.
My intention was to UPgrade my OS, not DOWNgrade it... !
So THAT LineageOS 14.1 doesn't really seem relevant.
And on https://download.lineageos.org/ there doesn't seem to be a version for Moto G5(?) There are versions for G4 and G6, but not G5. (Neither under Lenovo - the actual producer.)
But thanks anyway!

Only official versions will be on the lineageos website
There is no difference between an official and unofficial version except the official versions are built on the lineage servers every week with any lineage side changes (not device side unless merged by maintainer)
However official versions have to meet certain criteria in terms of everything that works in stock rom must work in the unofficial lineage build submitted to become official.
As the camera doesn't work as it does in stock in lineage 17.1 it will never become official in its current state
They are listed under Motorola because that is the company that makes the phones
Lenovo is the parent company that owns Motorola

That's sad.
So when I want to buy a phone in the future:
Which other smart phone brands will probably not leave their customers with 'a choice between plague or cholera'...?

Samsung will have the most community support as they are the most popular phones
Google pixel will obviously have longevity
Xiaomi might be the best budget choice other than later Motorola models
