My guess: PUBG Mobile doesn't allow to run at 90 FPS on this phone.
PUBG Mobile is one of the very few mobile games with 90 FPS, But you can play only on PUBG Mobile 90 FPS supported devices,
To play PUBG Mobile in 90 or 120 FPS on an Android phone the phone must have a 90 Hz refresh rate and Android 11.

Um, no. I use RM 3S since 2019, working properly 90hz on smooth options, but extreme only for mid, high or ultra. So mu guess is OP isn't on smooth graphic options.

Pubg Mobile (global) can go to 90fps no problem. Just change the refresh rate to 90Hz. It is BGMI (India) that doesn't support 90 fps even on 90Hz. So I just switch to 120Hz and it starts working.

[Q] What about gaming performance?

I'm using Gingerbread. I've tried a lot of ICS ROM's, but I just can't play simple games like Probe the Humans, or Lane Splitter. One of them don't work and the other one lag as hell. This keeps happening with every other game I try to play (didn't try NOVA3 or Shadowgun for example). Is this some issue with my phone, or ICS in general?
BTW, I'm a 0% battery issue user, and I can only use some kernels. Like Doom's, Trinity, or ArcKnight.
If you want to play games stick to gingerbread, i have same problems like you on ICS, maybe our phone is getting old or sony devs are lazy.
Hi! I'm not a big fan of gaming and also not a fan of ICS. But I will oppose just what you said. I am using Xperia Pro ICS just themed with Xperia S apps and both those games fully work without lags and problems on me.
Well yeah the only difference I could think of is the kernel because I have my own modded kernel of Xperia Pro made by me also but no overclocks when I took than screenshot.
Anyways here's somescreenshots as proof (Can't take a screenshot of the other game it just won't work)

Simple games are running fine on Stock rom and kernel ICS 4.0.4, but f.ex.
Temple Run - good fps, but touchscreen sometimes doesn't respond = unplayable
Max Payne - good fps and same situation = hardly playable
GTA 3 - freezes after 2 minutes
In many heavy 3D games touchscreen is not responsive, but on gingerbread these games are running flawlessly.
I am playing GTA 3, temple run & temple run brave on the same ICS ROM and so far no problems till now. It's been almost 2 months. Not sure about max payne though... So far of all the games I played haven't encountered any issues yet. Some of the lists are...
1. Angry birds
2. plants vs zombies
3. world of goo
4. temple run
5. NOVA
6. Shadowgun
7. Lets golf
8. TNA Wrestling
9. 9MM
10. Asphalt 6
11. Fifa 12
12. Gangstar Miami
13. Galaxy on fire
Most of those games are HD and haven't encountered any lags or crashes
I dunno... maybe i've got too much bloatware
Questions go in the Q&A section
For gaming on Arc, use CM7.2 ROM..

[TIP] Better quality video recording

I just found out that with AOSP camera apk we can get better quality videos than Sense camera!
First, I tested it in night conditions and it was really better - more light less grain.
You can see frame shots here: (Sense camera is first, AOSP camera is second)
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
So I did test again, in daylight and results are really better:
First - we can see much wider FOV. And when you crop the image, you can see it is also better quality.
The resolution is also different - 1920x1080 for Sense and 1920x1088 for AOSP.
Just for the record - the tests are all made on Sense based ROM, I just installed 4.3 camera apk.
But there are downsides, just check out audio stats:
Sense data:
Audio
Format : AAC
Format/Info : Advanced Audio Codec
Format profile : LC
Codec ID : 40
Bit rate mode : Constant
Bit rate : 318 Kbps
Nominal bit rate : 96.0 Kbps
Channel(s) : 2 channels
Channel positions : Front: L R
Sampling rate : 48.0 KHz
AOSP data:
Audio
Format : AAC
Format/Info : Advanced Audio Codec
Format profile : LC
Codec ID : 40
Bit rate mode : Constant
Bit rate : 96.0 Kbps
Channel(s) : 1 channel
Channel positions : Front: C
Sampling rate : 16.0 KHz
So there is really low quality audio in favor of better video.
Maybe someone could mod this AOSP camera to record in some better format like avi or mp4 and with better audio codec?
I also tried with photos, but photos are little bit worse than on Sense camera.
Here is the apk: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B8XcczeFW1zUNzMzTGNOYUNRcGc/edit

Is your point that the 4.3 camera IN SENSE, strictly, is better for video. Or are you attempting to imply that the 4.3 camera IN GENERAL, including in an AOSP ROM produces better video?
I'm a little fuzzy on that.

As I wrote, I tested it only with Sense ROM so far and the results you can see in the OP.
If you have some free time, you can do the tests on some Cyanogen ROM and post a results
I have actually tested a photos on CM10.1 versus Sense's camera in full daylight and Sense won but the difference was very small. I guess in low light photography Sense binaries show their power.
And actually this made me to search for alternative - night mode photos, especially with night mode+hdr have so much light but on video it is worse than Xperia S and Galaxy S2.

Question A way to force Motion Graphics Smoothing?

Title says it all. To watch movies and shows, I use a couple of different video players that do not show up in the list of supported apps for Motion Graphics Smoothing in the settings. I also watch videos and games in Chrome and would be nice to be able to enable it in Chrome as well. Thanks in advance.
Two topics for the same question is a little bit too much

Thanks for this. It doesn't give me the effect I'm expecting though. I was talking about Motion Graphics Smoothing here: Settings->Display->Motion Graphics Smoothing. That seems to be different than the Hyper Motion Smoothing setting you mentioned as I already have the device locked at 120hz via the
"adb shell settings put global oneplus_screen_refresh_rate 0" command.

This doesn't force motion smoothing nor does forcing the refresh rate force motion smoothing; motion smoothing on oneplus is only supported by certain apps, and hyper smoothing is only supported by even less apps.
There isn't. Oneplus at the moment only supports certain apps. Boo.

Themes / Apps / Mods [MAGISK] Enable Google Location history, Nearby share and MEMC for Genshin

I created a Magisk module to enables Google Location history and Nearby share on the Chinese version of ColorOS.
This also enables "游戏插帧" MEMC frame insertion (120fps) on global version of Genshin Impact and YouTube (add them as a game in Game center app).
To enable MEMC, you have to enable "游戏插帧" in game menu.
Download magisk-module-oplus-cn2global.zip, install this module from the Modules tab of the Magisk app and restart.

This module should work on every ColorOS / realme UI devices, but MEMC won't work on Global ROM.
Tried both v06 and v05, both failed to install. Edit: Sorry I'm on OxygenOS Global A07.

Did you enable "游戏插帧" in game menu?
You have to enable it after you open YouTube and video isn't playing.
This module allows you to activate 120 FPS in Genshan Impact?

Not a native 120FPS but MEMC 120fps (insert simulated frame to 60fps so 60fps x 2 = 120fps).
You can feel that it's moving lukewarmly when there is scrolling or pan/tilt movement.

Would you be able to release a module related to temp control? OP limits the temps bad when gaming. Thank you
Does root still make sense? What will it be needed for? I'm not going to install a custom rom.
