Finally a ROM that really got me excited to get out of MIUI... It looks excellent. I hope the Viper works well, I'm missing it, I used it on my RN5...

Great great rom, lots and lots to personalize. Miss that is the A12 roms. Often had a restart and that the phone would not turn on after a restart. but maybe if i charged the phone again this will be solved.

Great job, it seems everything works ok.
Just some issues with ocassional reboots. I updated the kernel to a newer version and looks fine until now.
On joyeuse something goes wrong with FM Radio: aparently everthing (scan and tunning) goes fine but it hasn't audio output at all.

Clean flash

I had problems starting the ROM, it stuck on the Android screen, after it booted (something like "We are starting, this may take a few minutes"). Don't get out of there. I came up with the idea of flashing the ROM without the Gaaps... and then the Gaaps separately and it worked.
Does anyone know why it's showing up this way to me? I'm finding that the ROM is corrupted for me.

If anyone is having issues with new kernel (freezes, random reboots, no data/wifi)
Plz flash this kernel:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/135b3Xt9IssT83CFtEzMzkg6USperRkp9/view?usp=drivesdk
It is Orion_WIP3_2 kernel in a AK2 (Anykernel2) zip. (Thanks @JohnFawkes)
You can just flash this zip as a regular zip..
So no more ".img" files that need to be flashed in boot partition.
This also means that you don't need to reflash Magisk after flashing a kernel!
As always "Encounter bugs? = Logcat" cant fix stuff based on a description of what happened. :good:

they keyboard will appear after an extra reboot or wait a minute.
no idea if its because the rom is CAF or not. (only seen this issue by you and 1 other person)
but this "not appearing" keyboard thing is a 1x issue only, it should work fine every time after that.
and a little info on what device/model would be nice

The latest 4.8 version (and all future versions) have FBE (file based encryption) enabled, which is easier to work with and use than traditional FDE (full disk encryption) in previous Android versions. Because of this change, you MUST use the FBE enabled TWRP recovery linked above in order to access your files in recovery mode. In case you missed it, here is the link again:
FBE enabled TWRP: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=7161016148664781632
If you are coming from a 3.18 based ROM (you probably will be) you MUST format your internal storage directly after flashing the ROM. Backup anything important first.

We(speaking for mi5 community) already have havoc unofficial. The developer update every time havoc release an update, and there is q already avaible. We are testing 4.4 version too, so I don't see any people crying out for havoc on gemini. Thanks.

Maybe you're not on telegram, where someone asks every 5 minutes when gemini version is coming out. I see you have unofficial 2.9 but I don't see 3.0 here. I know of the "Havoc-Gemini" repo and I also know why your maintainer got booted from official. I have no opinion on the subject, it's not my place to comment. I'm also well aware of the 4.4 kernel port, I've been working with xNombre to try and port it to lithium.
The whole point of open source is that it's supposed to drive innovation and collaboration by working together to achieve our goals. I learned a lot about Android by porting the formerly gemini only Syberia to lithium. I didn't want to just take advantage of that knowledge and run off with it, I wanted to give something back to the community that helped me in the beginning.
I seriously doubt that you with your single post on XDA forums speak for the whole Mi5 community, but if any other dev wants to collaborate with me or wants me to take this down then I'm happy to accommodate them.
Have a nice day
Please do give update for v3. We all are very thankfull to you. And GOD bless you.
Thank you!
Thanks for porting this ROM. Also I read the announcement (for the mi mix) that the device should clean install. Is that also apply on this port ROM?

If coming from Pie, then most definitely clean flash. If you have another devs v3 build a dirty flash might work, but I would still recommend a clean flash as the device trees will be different. Google drive backup does a very good job of backing up all your apps and settings, so if you clean flash and sign in to your Google account the setup wizard will get restore everything :good:
Can you make this rom for mi5s (capricorn)?
Sent from my MI 5s using Tapatalk
Thanks, keep updating via xda pls.
one user mentioning Telegram is odd. if other devs decided not to share via Xda why a mere user have the rights to question who is willing to share via XDA. odd.
regardless, so far everything works. I am ok with permissive se-linux.
Dolby digital Plus and EdExposed working out of the box. ANT also working.
thank you

Everything's working: bluetooth, wifi, data, fast-charging...will test and report about Screen Cast later.

New version uploaded, changelog available in the download directoy. I was unable to boot just dirty flashing this, So clean flash is needed.
I'm not sure if this would be considered a bug or not, but it happens on all android 11 ROMs I've tried and haven't gotten any way to possibly fix the issue yet. Bluetooth when connected to my car stereo, I can't hear anything when I try to answer calls by either the stereo or the phone. It works fine for outgoing calls however. Now I noticed with this ROM I was able to get it to answer twice but that's it. I'm sure it's something simple I'm missing just not sure where to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated. And again great job on the ROM. Glad to see someone got this going for the moto Z3 play.

BTW I tried on my car with just bluetooth and no android auto and it worked fine, so maybe it's a car problem. I have no idea.
Are you using the latest crdroid version?
Tried to re-pair with the car?

Yep I'm using the latest version. I haven't tried to repair yet. It worked when I was running android 10 ROMs, and I think if I remember correctly it worked when I first installed lineage 18.1 I'll try to re-pair the device and see what happens. I'm gonna try my ear buds too and see what they do. Haven't tried them yet.
M8, what about SafetyNet, does it work?
Edit: I tried it already, everything seems fluid enough, awesome job!
Buuut, here´s the catch, I´m using the recommended Gapps, clean wipe, and everything, but SafetyNet fails, any idea how to workaround this?
Have you tried LineageOS? I have XT1929-8 too and I am using it in Europe. Unfortunately it's quite slow, I am sure with Lineage or your distribution it can work fine.
I use the Battery Moto Mods (turbo power and the one included in the package). Have you had the chance to try them?
Thank you so much for your work and your time!

No idea on why safetynet is not working tbh, never been able to pass that f*****g test in any custom rom. BTW I haven't found yet an app complaining so for me it's a tie for now.

This rom is based on LineageOS btw.
For the mods, I tried the incipio offgrid and the moto power pack included when I bought the phone and they seemed to be working fine. Funny thing is that I completely forgot of having them for something like a year and a half, so when I connected both I got something like 5 seconds of charge before they went flat. SOOO I'll test them in the future, but I think they'll work fine. They worked fine in the past on LineageOS.
speaker is not working
ACan anyone tell me if the kernel is customizable, if you can overclock it?

Screenshots show Android 10 I'm guessing those screenshots are generic and this rom is actually Android 11. Right?

Yeah. Also on the havocOS website you can find A11 screenshots
I've just installed it and I can confirm it's on Android 11. Everything seems smooth for now.
However, I've launched the Camera app and it doesn't seem to work. It returns an error "Camera is not ready. Please try again later." I imagine an upcoming update will fix the issue?
In the meantime, I've installed Gcam and I can use and control the camera. I just wish I could put it as the default camera...
I'll see if I can report back sometime later after I've spent more time with the ROM.

Yeah. Asus camera is broken for now. Still struggling with getting it to work on aosp. If you do any gesture that will open the camera app, like pressing twice on the power button you can change the default camera app (select GCam then press on always)

Accubattery reports 13h34m of Screen On, 67h of Screen Off and 24h40m of Combined Use. Based on 7 sessions the last 7 days.
Not sure if the report is accurate though. It hasn't been long since I got this new phone and installed Havoc OS on it.

I love this rom, but I can't receive or make phone calls. Phone rings but there is no screen to pick it up, and the phone app won't open. If no one else has this problem I will keep troubleshooting it.

I rooted my phone using Magisk, so I don't think rooting would be an issue.
I don't think I can help you further than this since I'm just an user. I hope @IronSingh solution works for you.
Hi All. I need to help installing this ROM.
I had installed Omnirom build from 10.10.2021 on slot A of my phone and wanted to try this ROM. Here is what I did:
Try1: I booted into TWRP on slot A, wiped data, Dalvic and Cache using the default "Wipe" button, rebooted to TWRP on slot B, flashed this Rom build from 28.10.2021. When I booted back to slot A, the device is stuck on the boot animation.
Try2: Next I booted into TWRP on slot A, formatted using the button "Format", rebooted to TWRP on slot B, flashed the ROM build from 28.10.2021 again. When I booted back to slot A, the device is stuck on the boot animation again.
Is there a way to rescue this? Or should I flash stock ROM, update to 11 and flash again?
Side question: Do I need to have the latest Android 11 firmware on both slots A and B, as is required for the OMNI-ROM, to install this ROM?
Many thanks in advance!
I did the same thing but from clean. I couldn't get it running farther than the boot animation.
I think you need to install the older firmware and then upgrade will try and report back

Sorry man, I had to take it down
I know it's early but installed 18.1 20220402-UNOFFICIAL. Tried installing open-gapps-arm64 pico but indicated not correct for device (using twrp 3.2.3-r1-athene-arm64). Tried open-gapps-arm pico. Booted ok but sluggish and rebooted a couple of times. Any suggestions?

Thanks. I believe I've done that and things remain slow and at some point freezes and reboots. To possibly help further, here is what I've done.
in twrp recovery, wipe > format data (and advanced wipe all partitions as well)
use adb sideload for lineage-18.1-20220402-UNOFFICIAL-athene.zip, wipe Davlik Cache, wipe Cache
use similar adb sideload for open_gapps-arm-11.0-pico-20220215.zip
reboot system
Goes through Google setup (sluggish). After going through setup, response continues sluggish overall (settings, etc.). Just doing something like change to dark mode in settings resulted in a freeze then reboot.
I've also installed just the rom without any gapps, rom works well, and is responsive as expected (I'm only using wifi so need for celluar functions).
Not sure if gapps is the cause or gapps with the rom (given it's work in progress).
In any case, happy to test out lineage 18.1 on this device as I'm merely playing around.
Other info:
Running to twrp 3.5.2_9-0 (3.2.3-r1-athene-arm64-rajatgupta-1998) (I was running ArrowOS before trying L18.1).
I run LineageOS on Samsung Note 3, Nexus 7 2013, and Samsung S5 so not new to roms but not claiming being an expert either (dangerous enough to bring newer life to older devices thanks to great devs)

I think it's an rom/device problem because i tried android 11 roms on an HTC One M8 and GApps were working perfectly, even on an beta OpenGApps version
Edit: i think for now you can use MicroG as an alternative for GApps to check if it works, use Nanodroid Patcher then Nanodroid MicroG
Edit 2: Use LiteGApps Go version
Well, it's so sad that there are no news about this rom, especially since one of the important developers did quit because he/she got his/her Telegram account reported
I want to know. Is there someone working on this rom nowadays? i want to know since i can know if i can wait or directly stop waiting and keep on my actual rom
Edit: What happened to the Testing Hub? as far as i know, there was even an android 12 beta.

Sadly, one of the developers that were working on this rom is out, got his/her Telegram account got reported by an Telegram group and got tired of things like that, the worst thing is that he/she was the one that was working really hard on porting android 11 and even trying to make android 12 work

did you make lineage 19.1? I found a lineage 19.1 zip on sourceforge and I dont know how to install it because flashing with TWRP 3.6.1 doesn't work
Do I have to use adb and fastboot?
Does it need gapps or are they included like so many roms now?
Does it work or is it unstable and not useable?
