Question Help-Remove demo mode from s22 - Samsung Galaxy S22

So I came across a demo s22 on ebay..its stuck in demo mode meaning i cant factory reset it because of the demo mode. theres a few apps that take me into demo settings but i can not deactiavte demo mode. booting into recovery does not show the factory reset option and if i click build number for dev options nothing happens..
Help?

also odin doesnt detect it and the imei is all 0's

demo mode indicate you bought a stolen phone that was on display at a store.
You need a tool and a pass code use by samsung only in order to remove that demo mode.
you got scammed;; sorry.

Remove Retail Mode MDM Demo Samsung Galaxy Note N960F N960U N960XF OK
you go to the app called Retail Mode. First password is the – 5444, then you will click off disable retail mode. will ask you again for password. that you will use the M729Q16K8546. It will then as you if you want to factory reset phone.
There are many passwords out there that are worth a shot.. some stores use their own passwords. (And in some cases the phone allows you to pick from a list of retailers, so pick Walmart and try these 2) Here are some I know of:
Walmart device: rollback, Walton
Bestbuy: blue
Others I’ve read have worked (worth a shot right?!)
- galaxy
- ruletheair
- rethink
- demomode exit
- instoredemo
- unlimited
- remove cod
- nationwider
you know what all your answers are wrong. also checked on other forums the 5444 and m729 is only use to access retail mode app in order to set ldus settings and also to register the store where the ldu is being setup.. i have a friend from samsung and good thing he’s from hhp fieldforce he taught me how to disable or freeze the retail mode inorder for user to use the ldus but take note you can only use it like tab you can download games and store files like ordinary tab or ipad without sim. so here it is
you need the 5444 and m729 to open retail mode app
• on the retail mode app on the upper part you will see the “3 dots” like settings drop down you’ll see 3 items there. now go back
• here is the trick. on the lower part right at the middle of your screen just tap your screen there 9 times. dont worry at your 6 tap youll see a notif to click 3 more 2 more 1 more ..
• then voala!! go back to the 3 dots on the upper right part open it and youll see now 4 items the last item will be deactivate retail mode, tap deactivate then it will turn to activate meaning its already deactivated

Is the issue solved up till now

Samsung Pay + Galaxy Watch (Not visible)

Hello community, I hope you are fine.
I bought recently a Galaxy Watch and I noticed that Samsung Pay was not on it, at least it's not being displayed, I synchronize it with my Note 8 and still nothing.
This watch has been made in Samsung Vietnam and the model of course is the SM-R800:
Tizen 4.0.0.1
Software R800XXU1BRK3
Know version 2.3.0
From my Galaxy Note 8 I am using without any issues Samsung Pay, but I can't make it appears into my watch.
I live in France which is totally available Samsung Pay.
Any suggestions? Looking in Internet I could see that people are having the same issue and it's fixed with a new Rom from other country different than the one I have but I can't find any source and neither how to do it.
CSC issue?
Please help!!
Thanks in advance :good:
Hey, I have exactly the same problem. Everything is working on my phone, but because my galaxy watch is an international one I don't have Samsung Pay.
I'll be really happy if someone has a solution .
Thanks !

My phone (Note 8) and watch (46mm LTE version) are both Verizon OEM, neither rooted. Phone has Samsung Pay which works well. I had to install Samsung Pay on the watch, and the credit cards did NOT sync automatically. When you add credit cards to the watch it gives you the option to enter a new one from scratch or "Import" card/s from your phone. I selected import and you have to do one card at a time. Also about a third of the time, the import does not take and you have to re-do it. Also you still need the physical cards with you because for each import you need to re-verify the CCD. Lastly, I noticed when doing one of the imports, for one of the cards it thought that card was already on two other instances of Samsung Pay (my old Note 5, and my Note 8 presumably). I do not see any issue with having to do it this way - they try to be extremely careful with this credit card information and it's better to be safe than sorry!

I had the same issue where Samsung Pay did not appear on my watch. I reset the watch and reconnected it with my phone. After the reconnection setup has finished, few minutes later Samsung Pay appeared on the watch.
Hello everyone.
I have a Galaxy Watch 46mm bought in France (serial number: R5AKA0GCX9T). Samsung Pay not yet available on the watch in France.
I also have a MAX pay card and a Xiaomi Pocophone phone with Android 9.
Before making the CSC switch, I would like to know if it is imperative to have a Samsung brand phone for it to work?
I ask the question if someone was successful with a non-Samsung phone, knowing that Samsung Pay is available only on the phones of the brand.
So basically it is imperative to have Samsung Pay installed on the phone so that it works?
Thanks for your help

Try to not necro old posts please.
And for your question, no, it's not necessary to have samsung pay on the phone.
I have a Samsung galaxy watch 42mm and Nokia 7 Plus, i live in India, since i got the watch there is no option of Samsung pay in Galaxy wear app. I manually installed latest Samsung pay plugin ( https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/samsu...n/samsung-pay-watch-plug-in-1-7-5906-release/ ) , and changed the region to Australia and after that when i paired the watch again with galaxy wear app Samsung pay is showing in it, and i then followed the instructions in the app to set it up.
I followed the below instructions samsung pay works on my nokia 7 plus.
You do NOT need root.
But this is how you do it.
1. So first, download SDBstarterKidv1 from the following link please:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74585286&postcount=330
WARNING: This will reset your watch, so make sure you back it up so you can restore it later.
2. Next make sure your watch is set up as follows:
- Debugging Mode turned ON
- Connect watch to WiFi and get its IP address (To find the IP address on Galaxy Watch: Settings > Connections > Wifi > Wifi Networks > [your network] > Scroll down to IP address)
3. Next, from SDBstarterKidv1 double click on 'install.bat' (it will not install, it just flashes a window, but this step is required)
4. From the subfolder data\tools double click on 'sdb.exe' (it will not install, it just flashes a window, but this step is required too)
After noting IP address of the Galaxy Watch, Launch ‘Ansicon.exe’ from sdb_2.2.60_windows-64\data\tools (this thing will open a command prompt window, and all the action is done here)
5. Type: sdb connect [IP of Galaxy Watch]
6. Look at Galaxy Watch, it will prompt you to accept a message
7. If you try the sdb connect [IP address] again, it will say "already connected". This means we are connected and good to continue.
8. Type: sdb shell and Enter
9. Copy Paste: launch_app csc-manager.csc-pre-configuration and Enter
So this lets you change the region of the watch. Now for me I changed mine to Austrailia. The code for Austrailia is XSA
Once the watch is reset, pair it back up with your phone.
10. Once pared with your phone you will need to:
- Turn on developer mode again
- Turn on debugging mode
- Turn off the watch and turn it back on again.
- You may need to wait a few minutes.
11. Once you have done this, you can open the Samsung Galaxy Wearable app and go to settings. When you scroll down you should see samsung pay.
If you dont see pay, hold down the back button (Top right button) on the watch till samsung pay opens up and follow the instuctions to set it up. But initially the Samsung pay app is not recognising my compatible Indian Debit and Credit card and not allowing me to add, i thought this might be that i had changed the region to Australia, but i tried again after an hour and then to my surprise i am able to add all my 4 cards to Samsung pay app , and it is working also, i tried a payment at NFC enabled terminal and payment works flawlessly
Enjoy your new watch with Samsung Pay enabled

Everything works great until I have to type in the launch_app part. It tells me it launched successfully, however nothing happens and the watch does nothing.

R u on tizen version 4.0.0.7?
Sent from my Redmi K20 Pro using XDA Labs
Is there any way of getting Samsung pay on the latest firmware of Tizen? Didn't find anything but the above method, which doesn't work anymore. Or maybe at least a roadmap for Samsung pay rollout in other countries? Romanian user here.

Enabling Samsung Pay

Hi,
If you have a Galaxy Watch without Samsung Pay enabled, is it enough to change the CSC with SDB (in my case to Australia) to enable it, or do you need to flash an Australian firmware as well?
Also, can you manage Samsung Pay on the watch with a non-Samsung android phone, like Huawei P20 (e.g configure payment cards)?
Thanks

I don't know the answer to the first question but I'm using SPay in the S3F and OnePlus 6T with out any issue. It's the only way to get MST payment without buying a SS phone.

The fix is to go into C:\Users\{USER}\.tizen and ether delete that folder or delete the items in it. This changes your key to a new one which make the watch prompt you to accept the new key.
Make sure hidden files are shown in windows Explorer, if this thing doesn't work, then instal the tizen studio, and that will bring the .tizen folder in tha above-mentioned location, and then you can delete that folder

Tizen studio ? I uderstand I have to install it on my PC ? Which version - any link?
Ok - now I`m a step further...I`m connected

How can I know which region my watch is set on? I'm from Mexico and I can not use samsung pay, the model of my watch is SM-R800. Regards

Mine is also LTE and it seems we are out of luck. I use Samsung Pay on my phone but it seems I will not be able to change the CSC region cause it is a US LTE model.
If any wiz here know a way, let us know!
So curve will not work?
---------- Post added at 08:35 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:22 AM ----------
You can definitely change the region on your watch but if the watch will accept curve ?
I think that Curve is win for people which there bank doesn't not support Samsung pay. So they get curve card (where they add there cards) and curve card add to Samsung pay.
Another case is that someone is in country what does not support Samsung pay. So there is a way that you change the CSC region and add curve card. That should work also.
Worst case is if you have LTE model of your watch, there is ( I think) no way to change CSC region and work with cellular data normally.
I hope that I am wrong about the last one and someone correct me and show me way how to get SP working in not supported country and still use my tariff from local operator.
I'm in Germany and changed via csc the region of my watch. My phone Tarif is German. I think you are right.
I tried to combine several cards with sp but without success. So I assume that curve will work either.
Well today I was curious and I change csc on my galaxy watch LTE with working esim (tmobile). From TZM (Czech tmobile) to AUT( Switzerland)
Before I did backup of watch. After change of CSC -> Samsung Pay shows up. I expected that. What I did not expect was that after restoring my backup the esim setup will work like before and it is.
I tried add some cards to Samsung pay but no succes. My bank doesn't support that.
Now I'm waiting for my curve card. It should work with SP.

I have an LTE version from US but the ZTO code fro Brazil does not show. Was that a similar case as yours? If so, how was the process? I know my bank accept Samsung Pay here, since I use it on my phone already.Let me know.
Cheers,
After step 9 watch showed me lots of CSC, AUT included. I followed instructions from page 1.

Randomly unresponsive Samsung S10 plus

dear community
I bought a new S10 plus from a Hong Kong seller online, I had the initial screen greeting in traditional Chinese where I used my other phone to translate and chose English language (noticed that the device is probably a Taiwanese version)
First few hours were fine until June 2019 was installed.
Random unresponsiveness and strange behavior (Android status bar will pull down on its own, back and home virtual buttons do not work all the time, non responsive touch screen) This will go away if I lock then unlock and will come back again or sometimes not.
This became an annoyance as it will randomly either make the screen unresponsive or ultra responsive repeating my single touch commands which is a real pain, I hope you get the picture?
I decided to do a RESET, this all went well until it rebooted to a screen where it said something in traditional Chinese and a tick next to SIM1 (I forgot my UK sim card inside) so I clicked on next
it then rebooted and with a greeting in English!
here I went through the setting up and the wireless then it could not connect to Google (how bizarre)
I had to switch off Wifi to be able to get to final home screen, then I switched Wifi back on
Google services were installed however I was unable to add my Google account
also, the random unresponsiveness came back
I tried to hard reset, now without the sim card, same as above I could not add a Google account it does time out....
I can open a browser and open web pages no problem so there is internet connection
my main problem is that the device is not working properly and I cannot add a Google account
researched the forum and I though I might give it a try and re flash official firmware.
I made short videos of this strange behavior of the phone, where I will post them if needed.
My questions are :
would flashing an official firmware solve my problem?
which version I should flash, BRI (Taiwanese) or XEU (UK EU) ?
here is my SW ver.
SAOMC_SM-F975F_OXM_XEU_PP_0018
R58M36793AR
XEU/XEU,BRI/BRI
Many thanks for your advise!
Update:
I have flashed the OXM XEU version from this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/s10-plus/how-to/asba-official-stock-fw-update-odin-t3908710
Resolved:
I can now add a Google account, the problem was that I have to insert my SIM in order for this to work
Main problem:
random issues with screen and weird behavior: as I mentioned before, I get multiple registers for one touch which is extremely annoying when trying the simplest of text typing including typing wrong passwords!
the status bar is another annoyance which will drop down randomly and unexpectedly
current version:
G975FXXU2ASF3/G975FOXM2ASF3/G975FXXU2aASF3
SW ver.
SAOMC_SM-G975F_OXM_XEU_PP_0018
R58M36793AR
XEU/XEU,XEU/BRI
any ideas?

From the CSC OMC file of the UK rom get the .pit file via WinRAR.In odin put AP in AP slot,BL in BL slot,CP in CP slot and CSC in CSC slot(CSC not Homr_CSC).In pit section of Odin put the file which you got there.P.s. Use PatcheD Odin by 3B.
Hi ExtremeGrief
I did exactly what you suggested, used patched Odin by 3B from here and did extract the .pit file which in the ROM I chose reads:
BEYOND2LTE_EUR_OPEN.pit
ROM was loaded in 05:49 min/sec, however I still have the 2 issues:
1-upon fresh reset of android first setup screens will not progress to home screen unless I disable wifi (it will get stuck forever in the Checking Info screen), also I have to insert my SIM in order for me to add a Google account which is mad. so in the future if I sell my phone the next person will have hard time figuring out why they cant add google account!
2-crazy randomly popping up android status bar is back alongside with the unresponsive screen where it will get fix temporarily by pressing power button to lock then unlock, overall operation of the phone is a pain with constant random touch freezes
any other ideas on what is happening with this phone, is it hardware or software related?
shall I start RMA with the seller or try other fixes?
Are u charging ur mobile while using it??? When these touches appear?? Are you using a genuine charger... Dial *#0*# and go to touch from the menu... Swipe your finger through all the zones to check if touch panel is okay

no, I am not charging it while using it and the charger is a genuine one, I usually use wireless charging for my phones.
These random glitches in the status bar and unresponsive screen touch are random but they are noticeable and I have recorded a video of this strange behavior.
Now using this GSM test screen, there are no issues with the panel, all is registering okay and the weird part that the status bar is not acting crazy or showing up, also back/home buttons are working perfectly in this mode
any other ideas?
here are links for some videos I made to show the issues:
unresponsive screen video1
unresponsive screen video2
Status bar drops on its own!

Hi,next time you respond to my replies just quote me.Try to make the same thing that I told you to do before, but this time in Options tab in Odin 3B select:Nand Erase All,Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time.If this dors not work then it is a hardware problem but try this anyway.Maybe the seller that you bought the phone from put some malicious software on a hidden partition of the phone.Nand erase all wipes EVERY partition and writes it again.Hope this helps!

I did exactly what you suggested, so far so good.
I had to disable wifi to get to home screen then I re-enabled it, it did update all Google services.
my only problem now is that with the phone without a SIM, I cannot add Google account! it is stuck in the "Checking Info" screen.
any ideas?

Did your try clearing your cache? Normally if your had reset then you won't have to do this... But try it and see.... Shutdown your phone then pressing bixby button + vol up + power until u see recovery then clear cache.
If it's still can't resolve then get help from samsung service center.

thank you for trying to help me.
this is the weirdest issue I had so far with any phone! seems that getting phones from another region and specially China is a journey into a dark tunnel!
I thought the same as you, maybe a malicious software, the phone was spanking new and it was sealed with a guarantee sticker, mind you if they can clone entire buildings they can do anything.
I have started an RMA process with the seller, whats funny is that their T&C state that they reserve the right to not honor the claim if its a firmware issue etc plus they would charge 10% off price for restocking fees.
Any other ideas from anyone?

I just called the service centre near to my city in the UK, basically what he said is that I can bring the phone for them to have a look at however it being made for another region (Hong Kong/Taiwan whatever) then the software he said or parts required are difficult to get hold of and he advised me to contact the seller.
he said that probably I locked the device by mistake if I cannot add Google account.
I am going to visit them (1:30 hour drive) now to see what they can make off it.
not sure what happened nor why this all happening, for my phone software is black magic, I can happily do tinker with PCs etc and even do some basic Linux etc, I am not entirely sure what is making this phone locked and how to get rid of this or even find out if any of the hardware elements is faulty.
latest update:
I spent 3 hours round trip by car and got to the official Samsung service centre, they checked my phone and said that it is very likely the phone is genuine (not sure why they are not 100% sure) and it is designated as shipping country: Taiwan with a model of SM-G975FCKGBRI, however the product date is 1/9/2015! compared to my aging genuine UK version S7 Edge which has a product date of 1/2/2016
when I said that the phone was new in case with a warranty sticker, he said that anyone can do this including Samsung where they refurbish phones and reseal them and apply the special silver warranty sticker and goes back into sale!
upon inspection he confirmed that the right middle section of the touch screen is faulty
what is more bizarre is that he managed to log into google using their wifi connection no problem.
lastly, he said I have two options + last resort:
1-they will repair this on my cost and it could take weeks or months to get the parts for this specific Taiwanese phone (I never heard of this before specially that digitizer is just a component)
2-return it to original seller for them to replace/repair or refund
3-call Samsung care UK and try to "convince" them to take this handset and repair it eventually FOC
Now, I don't know what the Hong Kong seller has done previously to this phone if they had unsealed it then applied a warranty sticker (says Samsung etc..), what I know for sure is that I resisted common sense and ordered this phone overseas to save few bucks
to summarize, I will give up and RMA this phone maybe the seller can replace/repair etc.
thanks all for your help

I just found out why I could not log into Google and the request was timing out!
I have my router at home setup with a DNS server of 9.9.9.9 (as I dont want Google to snoop over all my activity outside Chrome) therefore the phone was not able to connect to Google server for some bizarre reason even though my web browsers have no problem using Quad9 to resolve google services.
I set the DNS up back to 8.8.8.8 and now my phone can instantly log into google!
hope this helps someone who tinkers with their DNS settings on their routers

Google Verification Bypass

I need help.
I work for a disaster response company.
Here is the dilemma
We have 8 of these devices.
LG G Pad X 10.1 Verizon LG-V930
They are all locked with the google verification and we can not get them to bypass it.
I have not tried to flash a new ROM, but and i dont even know if that will work.
I have seen a few different posts about getting rid of it, but some of the settings are missing and i can not finish that process.
I need help resetting these so that our drivers can use them again

Why not login to the original Google account? If there legitimately owned you should have no problem getting into them.

They are legitimately owned.
However the ones we are having issues with are employees that were terminated, or they were temp employeess, and they used their personal accounts on these devices. The ones that used the company email we can retrieve.
We have reached out to them but some are not willing to give us the information to help.

Ouch! Now I understand.
That's gonna be a tough one. Generally your gonna need there login info to get back into them. There are dodgy Ebay sellers that claim they can get passed it for certain models of phones. but honestly that's the only other way around that if it's even possible for those models.
Now if you have receipts for them Google might be able to do something if you get ahold of the right person.

Are they over a year old?

I don't know if you figured this out or if this would help but I think I can get you into the guest account on these devices.
First get a SD card with an apk on it. I downloaded one from apkpure. Then when the device asks you to connect to a wireless network, check the Show advanced options box. Then in the Proxy settings drop down box, select Manual. And click on the Proxy hostname box to bring up the keyboard, and press the settings button on the keyboard that looks like a gear. From the keyboard settings menu you can click the mulit-window button on the bottom taskbar and can open two windows. Open the file manager in one of the windows. In the file manager click on your SD card and try to install the apk you put on it. When it prompts you that you need to allow Unknown sources in the settings, click on the settings button to open the settings window. (Do not check the allow Unknown sources box if it allows it, if you check it, and the device resets or runs out of battery you'll have to go through this again, but when you click on the apk it won't prompt you to go to settings to allow unknown sources because they're already allowed.) Now just click on Users and switch to guest. There are some limitations to this mode, like not being able modify the wifi network (you'll have to switch back to the Owner account to change this).
I found a FRP bypass workaround if you are running 5.1.1 on a LG G Pad X 10.1 V930 AT&T model, not sure if all models are the same. It was FRP locked and all of the other bypass methods must have been patched. I was at the setup screen after a factory reset. I hope this helps.
1. Connect to wifi, then go back to start screen
2. Go to Accessibility > Vision > Enable Talkback
3. Go through the talkback training then draw an L to bring up the quick settings select Text to speech Settings (bottom right corner), afterwards you can disable Talkback by holding the power button and holding 2 fingers on the screen until it disables.
4. You will be in the settings app. Go to Users > Add user > User > Add user > Set up
5. You will be brought to a User setup screen select Next > It will pop up the wifi connection screen select next > You will be asked to sign into a Google account, sign into your Google account and proceed with the Google setup.
6. You will be brought to the homescreen. Go to settings > Users > And sign in as Owner.
7. Go to Settings > Factory data reset > Reset tablet. You can now factory reset and you will not be prompted to sign into a Google account.

S20 plus, Screen Lock type "None" Missing

Hello guys,
This is a mystery, before posting here I have searched the net for a solution but nothing works that I tried.
The option on "None" on the Lockscreen type setting has gone, disappeared. I think (but not sure) it happen after one of the recent updates. I am in Australia.
I have spent nearly an hour on the phone with Samsung customer service clearing credentials and a lot of other stuff, but no solution.
I did a full "Recovery" type of factory reset but still the "None" option is missing. Samsung has now told me to take the phone to a Service Centre for repair.
This seems an over kill for what must be a software/firmware problem.
There is a strange twist. Within my family there are three modern samsung smart phones running Android 10. Two have the "none" option missing and one does not.
Guys, please check your phones and if anyone has a solution I would love to know it.
Chris
Strange.. I have a G981W and have the option available.
What do you see under device administrators in settings? any corp work accounts/school accounts on the device? encrypted sd card?
I read older posts that by creating a guest account , rebooting and removing guest account, somehow that brought back the none option. However they were from 2015-2017. Also read that some 3rd party VPN apps can cause this. Maybe secure folder? (unsure on that last one as i don't use it).
Might have to try a full device wipe (unless that recovery did a full wipe).
As far as I know I did a full wipe factory reset, I did it from within the Android recovery menu,
I dont understand the guest account option, dont seem to have that option (to create a guest account) anywhere in Settings.
Not using any VPN's of any apps for that reason. Bare phone, minimum stuff installed after factory reset. "None" option still missing.
If you did a factory reset it would have run you threw setting up the device again as if it was brand new(login to google account , setting pin/passcode/fingerprint etc). If that was a case, did you have an option there to set "none" for security on lockscreen?
As for guest mode... looks like samsung has removed access to guest-mode in oneui, I never knew that till going to look for it myself as i never have used it lol
Well I'm out of ideas, I'm wondering if this is maybe a carrier specific thing?

When I set it up as new phone I bypassed all the pin and face ID fingerprint options. It defaulted to "Swipe to unlock" ,the "none" option was never available.
I don't think its a carrier related problem. As I mentioned have three devices (on two different providers) two devices the option is missing and one its available.
I thank you for giving it some thought.
wait... the 2 that are not showing "None" as an option, are they already set to swipe to unlock with no security on lockscreen? THe one where it is available, does it have a pin/passcode etc on lockscreen?

Here is the story of each Smartphone. None of my phones have ever had a PIN or Passcode or fingerprint set up on them except the S20 as an attempt to fix the problem. During out of box setup the security option are always "skip for now".
Galaxy S20 +:- The main subject of this discussion, you know the story recent factory reset etc
Galaxy Fold:- Not long after initial setting (out of Box) was changed to "None". Then used in that state for 6 or more months. Then as part of my checking to find out what was wrong with the S20+, the fold was set to "Swipe to unlock". A short time later when I tried to return the "Fold" to "None" the option had disappeared on it as well. I would try a factory reset on this phone as well but I think its would not fix the problem just like on the S20+.
Note 10 +:- Does not matter What I do the "None" option remains intact and available to switch too at any time. In other words works perfectly.
These are all family phones, Not rooted, no special weird apps etc. I think its pretty bad that when you do a factory reset the phone is clearly not reset to the way it came out of the factory. I would imagine most people think that it would be.
Chris
Very weird. Only thing I could come across was having smart lock on with on body detection on. But that still doesn't explain why after factory reset you still have this .
As for factory reset, when done, the device will revert back to the most recent updated revision. This includes security patches. You will not go back to true "out of box" factory software. But essentially a clean install, including most recent updates that have been done via system update .

I thought as much about the updated revision and security patches with regard to factory reset. I have always had a suspicion that it was after an update that things stopped working.
I was thinking about trying to flash back to the original firmware version. Have done it once before many years ago. Its just a bit of a stressful process.
