Themes / Apps / Mods Poco Launcher 4.0 Finally Leaked! - Xiaomi Poco F3 / Xiaomi Mi 11X / Redmi K40

Greetings!
Yesterday, a leaked version of the new Poco Launcher, that the company promised to roll out an update for it mid May of this year, was finally out.
The launcher has many improvements:
1 - New Animations made the launcher way fluid and modern for the eyes and especially for the Poco F3; it looks like the phone has a flagship chip in it now XD
2 - Added horizontal recent apps menu
3 - App open and close animations
4 - REMOVED the option to apply third party icon packs
You can download the launcher from here:

nova+my fav icon pack is a must have

also nova prime user... & stuck with button nav...
both miui & poco launcher are suck compare to nova or other 2rd party launcher...
on this new version..now why do they have to removed an opt for 3rd party icon packs...

Yes, removing 3rd party icon packs is definitely not welcomed. However, this is an early version and people on twitter are already giving negative feedback about it. So, fingers crossed, they might return the feature back in official release or an update.

Slightly off-topic, how does the recents screen behave with nova launcher? I remember having issues with app previews in recents early on.

on A10 i love that OS...gesture works flawlessly on 3rd party launcher... & nova or niagara looks amazing on full screen phone,
but A11-?? it got killed..then i'm stuck on button nav (still not root the phone, due some of my mobile banking apps doesn't work even with magisk hide)

Would like to see a modded version that can install on Miui roms based on Xiaomi.EU, including EU.

The Animation for going into Recents is broken for years (Still is today!).
Going back into an App does show the according animation.
But Gestures are still ONLY supported on System Launcher, nothing else.
Also, in previous Xiaomi.eu Weekly Builds and MIUI China Builds, the App-Previews in Recents were broken & unclickable, which made the Recents-Screen useless. But this bug got fixed some months ago.

I'm using this for over a day now and it is working very well (13.0.4.0 SKHEUXM), no bugs encountered in my everyday use, very fluid. The new animations and horizontal recents scrolling make it a lot better than the previous 2 versions.
I hope this is legit and will become an official update for our phones.

Xiaomi eu .. is an actual Xiaomi based rom (CN) so it would be understandable, as we can't install the actual Xiaomi launcher and a few other applications on a Poco based phone .. an inter company thing ..

Subscribed I was looking for one that disables wallpaper scrolling to test live wallpaper performance.
Edit: Awesome stuff, apart from Microbes, no stuttering when swiping between homescreens with the new scrolling behaviour.
Using a 5x5 layout, marvelous use of that large screen.

yeah, gestures are very important for me too.
swipe down pulls the statusbar down and swipe up locks the screen...
Installed and running fine, excellent replacement launcher!
Please add more scrolling effects like cascading, cross fading...
A novice question, is this launcher gpu accelerated? Or it's relying on the force gpu option?
Wow excellent launcher! Nice work and thanks!
Just wondering if you could add the option to have the persistent google search thingy... I kind of got used to it.
Also the ability to stick your folders into the app drawer would be nice as well.

Would it be possible to fit the market shortcut back into the app draw? maybe near the settings icon? I kinda liked that, and used it all the time.
Nice! I like where this is heading. I would love too see the ability to choose how many home screens to have, and the ability to create folders in the app drawer (10p sale has filled it right up!)
There's a problem with the icons, whatever I changed it wont register and it restored back to default every reboot. I'm not sure if I'm the only one, but I've tested it few times already.

Some bugs
First of all thanks for this great mod, I think it has great potential.
After setting up my Homescreens I found some bugs.
1. If I disable wallpaper scrolling after some time the wallpaper isn´t anymore centered.
2. After a reboot, there are some widgets disappeared from the Homescreens. After readding the widgets, this happens again after a reboot.
3. One time happend (after switching from market back to homescreen) that the searchbar widget comes back on top of my homescreens and it overlaps it with my widgets.
If I find another bugs, I will report them again.
Thanks again and keep working on it!
Edit: The issue under 2 appears when u add the widgets the 'old way' by long-pressing on home screen. If u add them through the app drawer they are still there after a reboot.

Great launcher but I've got a couple of suggestions:
Although everyone seemed to hate the search bar at the top I'd kinda got used to it and now miss it so an option to keep it there would be great.
How about having a homescreen Scroll effect the same as the one in the app drawer?
Other than that keep up the good work!

Agreed, miss my search bar
Excellent, I've been looking for something that would essentially just remove the search bar
However 2 things would be great
1) An option to set the number of home screens
2) For some reason I can't use Desktop Visualiser to replace the stock icons at the bottom. On the ICS launcher I can choose "Desktop VisulizR" to add a custom shortcut, small enough to replace Phone, Contacts etc. But for some reason this widget doesn't show in Nova launcher.
Great work, looking forward to full release.

Guide about Honor magic

First of all I don't own a magic device however I use the magic firmware on my Honor 8 so I can't cover up all info about magic usage but most of them.
So Q/A
I can't install third party launchers, why?
Because huawei blocked this on this firmware. To install third party launchers you'll need root.
So I got a launcher installed. But I can't see any widgets?
Open /system/etc/permissions/handheld_core_hardware.xml and find there will be a # before it which disables the feature. Just remove it and reboot.
Why doesn't notifications work?
By default third party apps gets disabled notifications (idk why) go to notifications and enable them for your new installed apps.
I can't see nfc option?
This is due to being disabled in earlier builds. However B536.1 evaluation versions brings nfc settings.
Some options are still in Chinese why?
They have informed you that the English language is still in beta (unfinished) this we might be able to fix with overlays.
More will come.

What I can tell for now no I haven't seen any indication of it update wise . And since it's a test device rather then a official retail device it is likely they only are going to fix bugs etc. However I can't tell to a 100% but as its a half year since the device is released I doubt nougat is coming in near feature (if at all) there's no info as far as I can see (though I can't read or search in Chinese)

Hi There,
Magic phone is indeed magic like, feels really great and looks beautiful, very smooth feel in hand.
Needed few tips and tricks to make more use of it.
Are these possible without root, if rooted office email app will be blocked
1) How to install launcher as system app, Please pls guide. I'm dying to install Neon, Zero.
2) How to install Ultra battery mode? - it is present in Honor 6 and it's awesome!
3) Is it possible to reduce resolution - Screen power saving - like Honor 6, saves battery during night and driving
4) Possible to change keyboard during typing? Popups doesn't show in notification shade, it's painful to go to settings n change every time
TIA.
Tnx,
Shreyas

1. Without root is not possible to install any 3rd party launcher except google launcher.
2. Do you mean the ultrabattery launcher which comes with huawei? If so it could be possible.
3. Resolution i doubt without root, and no idea about that feature.
4. We'll if you don't use navigation bar no, if you do it might work. Can't tell since I don't use that firmware atm but I never saw any fast switch for keyboard

Yes I am using a magic for the moment.
I've been trying to find it in the props and xmls, but I didn't find "carrier" or "operator" with a grep. It might be called something else.

Question Miui bugs on Poco F3 (Nova Launcher and display gesture)

Hi guys, since yesterday I got the Poco f3 8/256 gb, the device has two annoying problems both with the miui 12.0.1, and with an update today to 12.0.2. The first bug is the inability to use the gesture display, and take advantage of the whole screen. Up to the tutorial ok they work but as soon as you enable them they no longer work. So you are forced to use the Android keys. Another bug the recent apps menu doesn't work. I attach a screen, someone else to these problems? I have read that the first is on several xiaomi devices with android 11 and miui 12.

The gestures an recent apps are a known problem unfortunately. This occurs when using a third party launcher. I hope they fix this soon.
Gestures work ok here with stock launcher. Only going to recents from home is a pain sometimes. But maybe it's me...
Only bugs found:
- More options for dark mode does not populate "individual apps" when going there from the menu. Does work when getting there from settings search bar
- share button from web previes does not work, need to open in browser first
You must update poco launcher and home botton work again
Yes, recent apps works with new version v.2.20.1.26 see other thread (about nova launcher) for the link.
For gestures it's not working, I wanted to hide the buttons like I did with my old phone, but with android 11 it's not working too, there is an app that did it but not perflectly : Fullscrenn Immersive. You need Pro mode, Ultra Mode is not working on our Poco F3. And to show the keyboard you need to swipe up. Not so great.

They unlikely to fix it. I been googling this issue. You can find it 140 days ago about mi 10 phone in reddit. I don't see any fix its also complain in f2 Pro. Unless someone gets Xiaomi/Poco aware this issue I doubt they care since CN customers using default launchers.
Hi, so I've got mine and I have the MIUI 12.0.2.0 RKHEUXM version.
I have installed a custom Launcher Microsoft Launcher, and it breaks recent apps screen.
With updating Poco Launcher to v.2.20.1.26 version it's OK.
But I have lost the floating windows icon in recent apps screen (only three icons are present)
And I don't have the Virtual Id functionnality in Settings : search for virtual in settings to find it.
If I switch back to Poco Launcher, it's the same and If I switch back to Microsoft Launcher I lost some authorisations, need to bring them back.
So my question is for those who have only kept the Poco Launcher, do you have these problems too ?
If I find others I will post here.
Thanks
Miui is buggy. You can't install YouTube Vanced without turning off mi optimization. Once turn off I rather not turn on.
If you don't turn it back on you will find that you can't upload files to Gmail, to File share sites etc. Discord has no issues I don't know why. Then you turn back mi optimization (you only need turn off to install Vanced it will work with mi optimization turn on) it will reset all the permissions etc. Miui very troublesome this is my first Xiaomi/Poco phone I never used their phones before.
Yes I have installed You Tube Vanced so I have turned off mui optimzation also and switched it back.
Maybe that why some problems occur then. Will wait for next OTA to see what will happen.
I just want to know if with a fresh install you have floating windows and virtual Id .
For info, my wife has a Mi 9 SE with another launcher, and everything is OK (I haven't test gesture navigation).

Gesture was a dud right off the start I think I can't be sure if I debloat few stuff before or after I install nova. Gestures didn't work for me on first day I got the phone.
Do you have floating windows working on recent screen and virtual Id in settings ?
Anyone else problems with WhatsApp notifications? Delayed or don't come in until you open WhatsApp.
Guyz what gestures are you talking about ? My gestures on nova are working out of the box. Updateing poco luncher from apk solved the recent button (there was no option to update it in apps in my country...)

Navigation gestures. What version of poco launcher are you using? I updated to 2.20.1.26 and can't use gestures with nova launcher only buttons.
I use newest version of nova luncher prime and updated poco to 2.20.1.26. But it was working with the previous poco luncher version too. I disabled miui optimization, but I think it also worked with it enabled.
My system is running 2.20.1.25 not sure why it's not updated I did remove some bloatwares. I can assure you full gestures with nova doesn't work on 2.20.1.25 with mi optimization on. I didn't try it with off no point of off I can't upload anything.
Update: I went download and install 2.20.1.26 restart device then change to nova and tried full gesture. No it still doesn't work I can't get out of settings went back to poco launcher
But if you turn off miui optimization - does it work then ?
Btw if I turn of miui optimization my icon pack replaces the icons on my device after reboot, which is good.Have anyone played with icons already?

You turn off and on your gonna reset all permissions and might break something software related. I am not going do it again. Maybe someone else would.
hi,
i do not use gestures but for the recent apps and alternative launcher is my solution:
1. Select poco launcher as default.
2. restart phone
3. select your launcher.
this works until restarting phone

How To Guide Using Gestures on any ROM. YES YOU CAN

I had a friend today explaining me and insisting with confidence that you can't properly use Gestures with Android 11 outside of default Launcher because you can't disable the navigation buttons.Even after I gave him my Poco F3 with Arrow OS and Nova Launcher to prove he was mistaken, he was still skeptical. So I decided to educate the "flat earthers" of No Gesture Control with other launchers on Android 11.
Some clarifications before we begin.
1. It doesn't matter what launcher you use or what phone brand you use. It works with any brand and any launcher.
2. You need a gesture navigation app. I did not tested all apps, I only use VNG, I have saved my own gesture profiles, I am used to it, I don't care about other apps, test for yourself.
3. IMPORTANT! IF YOU UNINSTALL your preferred gesture app for good, I recommend you to re-enable Navigation Buttons before. Otherwise you will have limited navigation capability until you do.
4. This will ONLY Disable/Enable navigation buttons.
Here is how it is done. I takes 1 minute. 1. You need to have root acces and Magisk installed.
2. Search for "Navigation Bar Remover" by SageDroid module and install it. If you cannot find it, I also attached the module file here. To manually install it, after you download the file to your phone, in Magisk go to install module from local storage and select this file. After the install you will restart the phone. After restart the navigation bar will be disabled. When youdecide to Uninstall this extension, the navigation bar will be re-enabled.
Good luck
I'm using Arrow OS and Nova Launcher. Didn't install any additional apps. Never come across this gesture issue that I read a lot about.
People complain about MIUI not allowing third party launchers to have their gestures in motion. Nobody mentioned gestures not working on other roms. Flat earthers are those who didn't, don't root their phones and like to settle on MEMEUI until they die.
So, I'm pretty sure other roms will welcome any third party launcher app along with their gestures since there's the power juice of root.
There are custom ROMs witch allows to hide navigation bar without root. For example AICP and crdroid.
Then gestures apps and Nova works fine.
It's about Xiaomi having removed Gestures for Users of Third-Party Launchers in MIUI 12.
This is not about Android 11 in general.
Thanks! It worked on xiaomi.eu rom.
on miui you can use setedit n change value to 1 force_fsg_nav_bar n do it again if you reboot your device

FNG or Fluid Navigation Gestures
Fluid Navigation Gestures - Apps on Google Play
Get the fluid navigation gestures of the future!
play.google.com
This is what people recommended to me. I tried it and it is really well written, but I uninstalled it and I just use Buttons for now. I'll wait for Xiaomi to re-implement Gestures. I'm ok with buttons for now.

I've tried both apps in the past, and they are unstable AF, sometimes they just stop working till you manually open them again (even if you set it to ignore the battery consumption setting and locking the app on memory).

I am talking about hiding the Navigation Buttons and use only gestures to navigate the phone.

VNG Gestures (Vivid Navigation Gestures) is available in Playstore and the top three results on Google are about this apk.

Repainter brings bring customizable, dynamic Material You theming to any Android 12 device and ROM. Please read the entire description — ROOT MAY BE REQUIRED depending on your device and Android version!
Customize your theme with Repainter:
 • Choose colors from your wallpaper, or pick your own color
 • Change colorfulness and brightness, including pure "AMOLED" black
 • Advanced controls for colorfulness behavior and color targets
 • Preview themes and color settings instantly
IMPORTANT COMPATIBILITY NOTES
Repainter works best with root, but some functionality may be available without root (using Shizuku):
 • Samsung devices: All features are available, but a reboot is required to apply themes.
 • Pixel devices: Only custom color picking is available. Other customization is not possible.
 • Custom ROMs with Repainter support: All features are available, with no caveats (similar to root).
 • Other devices: Root is required.
If you have the December security patch or older, all features are available without root on all devices.
With root, all Android 12 devices and ROMs are supported, including full support for Samsung One UI, OxygenOS, Asus ZenUI, and Sony. Other skins may only be partially supported.
DO NOT INSTALL THIS APP on MIUI or Funtouch OS if you are expecting the system UI (notifications, settings, first-party system apps, etc.) to be themed.
Repainter themes the system-wide Material You color palette on Android 12, which is used by Google apps and other third-party apps that support Material You. However, because some manufacturers use their own colors instead of Material You colors, the system UI may not be themed on some skins. Samsung One UI, OxygenOS, and Asus ZenUI are fully supported.
Repainter · dynamic themes - Apps on Google Play
Customize & share dynamic Material You themes for Android 12+. MAY NEED ROOT.

Congratulations!
Any chance for information regarding it's compatibility with the pixel 6 /pro
It works fine. I've been using it since it was released.
I have used it as well. It should be noted that not all functionality is available for non-root devices if you are on the January security patch or higher. Google patched the exploit this and other apps like it were using. If you are rooted all features will work.

Basically there is NO/Zero extra functionality available without root, nothing that is anything different than stock wallpaper/colour picking system out the box/stock via the Google monet colour picking system.
With or without the app you can achieve the exact same colour options and nothing different.
Don't spend any money on app without root, even on a pixel 6/6 pro...

I just feel that that should be made clearer to any prospective purchasers of the app that don't have root. It offers... Nothing/Virtually Nothing... extra without root.
New update and rootless options are back
Highlights:
• Quick, guided one-time setup for unrooted Pixel devices (much easier; no need for Shizuku)
• New theme styles for unrooted Android 13 DP2, unrooted Samsung (One UI 4.x), and rooted devices
I originally purchased Repainter for my unrooted S21U, it works truly great on that device. Lots of customization options.
Not really worth it on unrooted Pixel though, unfortunately...
Does this app allow an AMOLED black theme for google settings and all pixel app backgrounds, notifications, etc.? I don't like the material off white based theme of the 6 pro.

There is a "Pure black background" option: "Use a pure black background in dark mode instead of a dark gray"
Unfortunately, on Pixel devices, it requires root.
This app would not open on the March update, as it would not verify the license, even after I paid $4.99. Unfortunately I had to request a refund.
Extremely limited app without root
This is a cool app, but a bit expensive for what it can do.

Thanks for letting me know!
This app and the Dev are total bull****. I paid for a years worth of the Pro service and it worked for exactly ONE day. The morning of my second day, it had reverted all my settings and doesn't have Pro unlocked anymore, but when I tap on either of the 2 Pro options for subscription Google play tells me I'm already subscribed.
I've emailed the Dev 3 times over the past week and he hasn't even bothered to respond to me, so now I'm going to file claim with Google over the app and the Dev, plus I'm filling report with my bank for the Dev committing fraud and not delivering what his app promised.
It's not the cost that's got my so upset, it's the wilful ignorance towards his paying customers.
Total fraud, total bull****.
