Question How do i downgrade from 13 (GSI) to 11 (Sony ROM) - Sony Xperia 10 III

i dont really like Android 13 and Material 3. I think Android 11 Was Much Better.
is there a way to downgrade?

You can flash older firmware using NewFlasher. The only problem will be getting your hands on the older firmware, because Sony is no longer offering them on their website, meaning XperiFirm can't get it either. If you've previously downloaded an Android 11 version of the firmware with XperiFirm great, otherwise I don't know where you can get them.

And where did you get 13 androyd? on our device, it has not yet been released

Probably a typo, they meant 12.

Would you be kind enough to send me a guide, or try to explain the process yourself?
Did you relock the bootloader?
Use RSD lite (you can easily find that instruction at XDA) and full image from here: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=889964283620757667
It won't be possible to relock CN version with EU firmware, so just skip this step
Then you can install Magisk manager and patch boot.img from firmware image provided above and flash modified boot.img with fastboot

Thank you, the image is 6.0 right? Now you are able to use android pay? Can you still use the 64 gb and 2 sims?
No, it is latest 7.1.1 with September patch
Yes, after proper Magisk V14 installation I can use Android Pay and yes, the phone still has 64Gb and 2 sims

The amount of people who have the same problem as me is huge, this should be made in a separate post and pinned. I, like many others, thought I had no chance of ever using android pay with the Chinese version

Ramdisk FW for SHT-W09 9.1.0.335 (8.4" UK)

I don't know if anyone else uses this device anymore, but worth a shot! I've lost root on my UK MediaPad M5 SHT-W09 9.1.0.335 (C432E3R1P2).
I'm trying to get hold of the full FW download so that I can re-patch the ramdisk with Magisk. I can't find it anywhere, though, not even through Hawawei Firmare Finder - the latest SHT-W09 FW from there is 9.0.1.160, all later ones are SHT-LGRP2. Even then, the best matches for a FullOTA are 9.1.0.333 and 9.1.0.336 (only OTA for 335).
Is it "safe" to use the ramdisk image from what's on Firmware Finder? 333 or 336?
Or do I need to get hold of the 335 FullOTA for SHT-W09?
Thank you!
Needed too..
You can scan the huawei firmwares by yourself to get the exhaustive list. With something similar to :

I ran a scan for you it should be finished in a few hours. You will be able to access it in the cameron.html link in this this thread (the data will auto-update once the server will be done) :

I see the FULL package for all of those versions via Firmware Finder. SHT-W09. Mind you, they changed the naming convention for this model's firmware.

Hi - Could you clarify this, please ?
I can see SHT-LGRP2-OVS and SHT-LGRP3-OVS versions of 9.1.0.335.
Are either/both of these compatible with SHT-W09 ?
Could you flash the full firmware rather than just the ramdisk ?
What about local variants (eg. C432 etc.) ?
Thank you.

Which firmware/ramdisk did you use ?
Thank you.
Just pick the SHT-LGRP2-OVS 9.1.0.335 (approved + full).
For magisk only flash the patched recovery_ramdisk (or stock to get back).
Also the system.img is useful to get back to stock from e.g. phhusson's GSIs Android 11 which is great BTW.
Stupid question, I lost root recently on my M5 and am trying to get it back. I have a US M5 so I'm still on Android 8.0.
When flashing the patched ramdisk image do you use the command "fastboot flash ramdisk Magisk_patched.img" or "Fastboot flash boot Magisk_patched.img".
Thanks,
Rick

Both Android 10 and 11 GSIs work well for me. Some of the 11 ones are getting too large for the M5's system partition, although this can usually be overcome by deleting unneccessary VNDK files from the image.
See this comment by CAOS GSI developer eremitein.

I use Android 10 (HavocOS 3.12) for daily use - everything works fine.
Magisk works and it passes SafetyNet with the 'Universal SafetyNet Fix' module.
I tried phhusson's Phh-Treble 11 for a couple of days and everything seemed OK, but I'm waiting for it to come out of 'pre-release' before moving off HavocOS 3.12; the latest 11-based builds of that are far too large, even after removing redundant VNDKs.
It is worth noting that I have a WiFi-only M5 (SHT-W09) and so can't comment on whether the telephony parts of Android 10 or 11 work correctly.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro MIUI 12.5 stable update based on Android 11 finally rolling out (Download link inside)

Update:
Stable update has been released.
Xiaomi announced they’ll upgrade the Redmi Note 8 Pro to Android 11 late last year. They have gone to update the global models, leaving the European variants waiting for some time now. Of course, the update was going to arrive, and perhaps, the company needed some time to address a few issues before the European release. Meanwhile, as expected, the Redmi Note 8 Pro Android 11-based MIUI 12.5 update in Europe is now available to select users.
The Redmi Note 8 Pro is receiving both Android 11 and MIUI 12.5 simultaneously, unlike the Redmi Note 8, that’s currently pushing Android 11 only. It is seeding with a version number – MIUI 12.5.2.0 RGGEUXM – and weighs in at 2.2GB. Coming along with the update are the features of the new MIUI OS to improve device performance and address some problems introduced by MIUI 12. Interestingly, the Android security patch level is pushed to July 2021 to increase system security and stability.
Of course, the update brings a stable MIUI based on Android 11, meaning that you get the features of the current Android OS as well. However, some known bugs are affecting all MIUI Android 11 builds. They include third-party launcher compatibility, ugly square chat bubbles, floating windows conflicting with keyboards, glitches, and lags. Luckily, you can improve the device’s performance by performing a factory reset after upgrading. However, that won’t fix the problems with the launcher as you need to revert to the MIUI system launcher.
Again, the Redmi Note 8 Pro Android 11-based MIUI 12.5 is a limited rollout. Those in Indonesia are also receiving the build with a version number – MIUI 12.5.2.0 RGGIDXM. It brings features of the new MIUI OS and a stable MIUI based on Android 11. Also, the Android security patch level has been pushed to July 2021 to increase system security and stability.

A11 will most likely be the last official update for this device, wouldn't be surprised if it will take till end of this year.
This works in global variant via TWRP, but I don't recommend it. I could not find a way to install Google Play, even though i tested a lot of tutorials, magisk, appstores.

Stock MIUI is horrendous. Bloatware, permissions etc. I can't stand it.
I'm on PE+ 11 but would prefer an official LineageOS release (no such thing available for now). I would also consider a xiaomi.eu release but they dropped support for Begonia/Begoniain.
Compass.

seems it's for Mi Pilot only.... that's why it's bootloop
Actually, it's bootlooping due to custom recovery..
I just did it like this:
- Download MIUI 12.5 Global from xiaomifirmwareupdater
- Reboot to recovery
- Flash from recovery
- Reboot to bootloader (using adb reboot bootloader or just boot to fastboot mode by rebooting and holding down the VOL_DN)
- Flash stock recovery (get it from xiaomifirmwareupdater, download previous ROM and extract recovery.img)
And with above I'm currently running MIUI 12.5.1. It's basically updated, I've lost no data.
I'm gonna dig in tomorrow for flashing custom recovery if i can find some working with this..
EDIT:
It may be that in order for TWRP to work on this ROM, a full wipe will need to be performed.
It's bootlooping due to patched vbmeta (vbmeta flashed with --disable-verity --disable-verification). So I'm unable to get TWRP to work. We might need some developer assistance ?

Question How do I flash a recovery rom without a custom recovery?

Hi y'all
I know that fastboot roms can easily be flashed with the miflash tool but recovery roms can only be flashed with twrp or another custom recovery. So how do I flash a recovery rom for the pad 5 when there's no custom recovery? I wanted to test out the MIUI 13 beta but I can't install it via miflash or the system updater since I'm on global rom and not china rom.

Anybody ask for GSI
I take the time to provide a useful link for someone who is too busy to search for themselves and get an aggressive sarcastic reply. C'est la vie.
When you flash the stock ROM with miflash tool, the stock recovery will also be flashed. There are tools that can extract or dump the recovery.img file from fastboot ROMs but I don't know if there is one for Xiaomi.
I asked around and was told it's not possible to flash an internal rom without a custom recovery.

If you're still on A.06 and trying to update to A.07 (and you're rooted on A.06), then you need to flash the stock A.06 init_boot.img before updating. Not 100% sure, but believe that someone posted the stock A.06 init_boot.img for the US version in one of the other threads on here, if not maybe you can ask in those threads if anyone has the unpatched A.06 init_boot.img as only way to do incremental update is if your system is stock. It's the bad part about the US only getting incremental updates instead of the full packages like every other region does.

I have the same issue, newly bought Oneplus 11 totally can't update at all. May I know how you solve it?

View the thread here. It has the stock A.06 and A.07 init_boot.img. You can flash which ever one you're currently on then update. I would also recommend following that guide to root the US version of the 11 in the future.

Thank you for your reply.
Do you have the guide how to convert from CPH2451 to others?

No problem, also wouldn't personally recommend converting. You risk bricking for little to no advantage and if you do brick there's no free way to recover (as MSM is no longer free and open). I would just stay on 2451 and use that guide for updates.

I have tried it, but failed. End up black screen + boot loop.
Then flash this file oplusstanvbk.img able to boot back CPH2451. Don't know why.
