I guess I didn't notice, because the font size was too big
Can't get this to work.
Copied over your HTCVolumeControl.PNG file from your .rar to my tHD Windows directory (using Resco Explorer) but it had no effect.
Am I supposed to use the original .CAB file from your first link, first and then do this ?

Just copy the HTCVolumeControl.png to \Windows and soft-reset. That should do the trick.

No-no .. NO CAB NEEDED !
Just replace the HTCVolumeControl.png file with the original one you have in windows.. then restart for changes to take effect.
they all work fine.. The picture in my 1st post is the proof
I would like to ask if it will change the text as well? I use Chinese rom. Will the volume control screen's text change to English after install the png file?

No, it won't. The .png file only contains graphics and no text.
Nicely done! Trying several out on my THD.
Do you perhaps have the original Photoshop files in layers? Was thinking about using 1 of them, but changed slightly here and there (color of background bars).
great work.

Well, would you beleive it if I told you that I have NEVER used Photoshop (maybe once or twice in a tutorial lesson..it scares me a bit!).. I used GIMP instead & didn't do much of a design.. Only relocated & adjusted a few things here n' there..
Again, I did not create these files, they were originally made for the Diamond in a different thread & I've adjusted them for HD.. <<< lazy lazy me!

As in at the bottom it is white (0), then leading up to the full colour (256) of the specific colour chosen.

[GUIDE] Porting Android 3.0 Honeycomb Lockscreen Digital Clock to any Android Phone

Porting Android 3.0 Honeycomb Lockscreen Digital Clock
I think you all are aware of the new Honeycomb Lockscreen Digital Clock that has 2 colors. It adds a funky look and is pretty cool and nice on the Lockscreen. I have decided to port it from Honeycomb SDK to other Android Devices.
I have tested it and it works well on Galaxy S XWJVB Android 2.3.3. I suppose it should work fine for other devices too.
What's so special in this Digital Clock?
This is an obvious question. Why to port the digital clock when a simple TTF font file replacement could do the job? Hmm.. Have you noticed that the Clock uses 2 font colors? A TTF file generally contains the font, but the color attribute is specified in the XML file. Hence, the Digits in the clock can only carry one color attribute. The Digital Clock in Honeycomb uses special rendering to display 2 font colors. Its relatively simple.
There are 2 TTF file which contain distinct digits. Hence 2 types of Clock Text with 2 different font faces are rendered. They are overlapped on each other and using XML attributes each "Textview" is assigned a different text color. This is what creates the funky looking digits. Pretty Cool eh?
Instructions for developers.
1. Download the attached Source.
2. Decompile the framework-res.apk with APK Manager and make the required changes that are provided in the Source. You need to add a new ID in ids.xml "timeDisplayForeground" and make the appropriate addition in the public.xml too. Recompile when done.
3. Decompile the classes.dex from framework.jar to .smali files using baksmali utility.
5. Open the public.xml in framework-res.apk that you have edited previously.
6. Open DigitalClock.smali provided in the Source with a Text Editor and Search for "onFinishInflate", and change the 2 ID references to "timeDisplay" and "timeDisplayForeground" reference codes present in public.xml respectively.
7. Open DigitalClock$AmPm.smali and change the resource id under .line 103 to "am_pm" reference code present in public.xml
8. Replace the smali files that you have edited along with the other files and copy them to your decompiled framework. You need to replace them in com/android/internal/widget/
9. Recompile the framework.
10. Copy both the framework files to the framework folder in the device and copy the 2 font files provided to the fonts folder.
11. Reboot the device. If everything is done properly, you will see the magic

I have decided not to make a version exclusive for the mod due to compatibility issues with other ROMs, hence I have applied this mod to my 5 lockscreen mod for Galaxy S JVB.

Is it possible to use the UOT Kitchen with the SGS II by removing the framework and systemUI apks from the system dump in the development section?
You can use UOT, I used it for a couple of the mods on this, only reccomendation is to pull the apk's from your phone as the system dump is from an older pre-release software

For everyone who wants to do it on his one or sees that his firmware is not supported a little how-to.
How-to port them yourself
Download one image file pack (look under the images) and extract the .rar
Take any modded SystemUI.apk
Get the SystemUI.apk of your ROM of /system/app (either with root explorer or with adb pull /system/app/SystemUI.apk)
Place your SystemUI.apk in place-apk-here-for-modding of your apktool/apkmanager folder
Use apktool/apkmanager to extract the images (no need to decompile/compile) with option 1
Look inprojects of your apktool/apkmanager folder for your SystemUI.apk
Go to /res/drawable-xhdpi and replace the images with your favorite battery icon files.
Zip the SystemUI.apk back with option 3 (as a system app)
In place-apk-here-for-modding you should find an unsignedSystemUI.apk
Rename it to SystemUI.apk and push it to /system/app (either with root explorer or with adb)
You also get a Flash Script for the Recovery, just place the SystemUI.apk in /system/app and delete the README.txt then
Then flash in recovery
How-to get back to stock
Grab the back to stock SystemUI.apk
Push it to /system/app with root explorer or adb
Or use the Flash Script
Battery image's
Image files (Android)
Image files (bubble)
Image files (circle AOSP)
Image files (honeycomb)
Image files (sensestock)

---NEW---
The MOD is now separated in 2 parts.
Part1 is the modded SystemUI.apk to provide 1% steps. The MOD contains already the circle style battery. I will still provide a “back to stock zip” for every version to fully de-install the MOD.
Part2 is the battery theme with the different battery styles.
The advantage of this is that part2 is compatible to all different ROM versions. So there is no need for me to update this for every new ROM.
Only part1 is ROM related and must be compiled for new ROMs.
This will save much time for me and you will get new MODs faster.
How to install:
1.Download Part1 for your ROM and flash it with CWM. If you like the circle battery, you are finished now.
2.If you want other battery styles, download the one you want and flash it also with CWM.
Note:
Part2 may also work with other ROMs that have already a 1% MOD(like most custom ROMs). Part2 inject only the battery icons in the SystemUI, nothing else will be changed.
Part1: (XXALE8/9-XXALF2/6-XXBLFB-XXBLG6/8)
downloads
Part2: (all Versions)
downloads
2 more circle versions added:
green_circle
green_circle2
Here are all versions as flashable zip file for XXALE8 to start.
The used firmware is always included in the filename.
I will also include everytime a back to stock zip to fully uninstall this mod.
This mod use 102 png´s for battery status (0-100%,status unknown)
and 102 png´s for the charge animation (0-100%, full) (all included in the packs of torxx)
For XXALE8 odexed:

For XXALF2 odexed

*edit: I made a backup just before flashing, so if you don't figure out an easy way to undo it, I can just restore from that.

Zipthemer - How to - Pattern lock - Animations - Center Clock - Tweaking themes

=====================================
This works across all android devices with the exception of the zips in the first post.

Resize png's to suit your Rom.
=====================================
Since I installed CM7 I've hated the pattern lock. The dots are just too big and cluttered.
I've used the png's from this thread to create a flashable zip using Zipthemer.

My Rom etc.
CM7.2 (stable build)
Firekernel
CWM5
WARNING - the following flashable zips are specific to the CM7 stable Rom as they contain the framework-res from it - WARNING
I don't promise this will work for everyone so do a NANDROID. Also there's an undo zip.

If the zips above don't work you can make your own.
Download zipthemer and open
Menu
Update edify
Browse
Pick a zip you have flashed
You should get a success message
Download this zip theme
https://www.box.com/shared/9pk1un3rkheu665d4lni
Return to zipthemer
Hit +Theme
Pick the above zip
Hit Build it
Select yes to create undo zip as well.
You will now have two flashable zips that will work with your Rom.
Good luck

I think so, but I found Zipthemer easier to get the hang of.

For anyone wanting to know how to do this from scratch so it can be applied to other apps........
Going to use changing status bar Wi-Fi icon as an example.
1. Extract SystemUI
2. Note folder path to icon location
3. Create a tiered folder structure as follows
Wi-Fi (project folder)
-SystemUI (app name)
--res (app folder 1)
---drawable-mdpi (app folder 2)
Note: app folders should match those noted at step 2.
4. Download this xml https://www.box.com/shared/b8azhxogrg3ze5xt4y0o
5. Edit the xml to change xxx:
themename>xxx<
author>xxx<
phone>xxx<
rom>xxx<
themedescription>xxx<
item>SystemUI.apk<
path>/system/app/<
Note: item and path should match the app you are changing.
6. Save xml
7. Place xml in project folder
8. Place icons in appropriate folder. In this case drawable-mdpi
9. Zip project using 7zipper
10. Run Zipthemer process
11. Flash it

Tweaking themes
After installing this theme, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1483291 I wanted to change the notification toggles and battery indicator.
Before
After
Also returned the skateboarding android to the settings menu.
https://www.box.com/shared/v2ldlbz8biajqxlqwnml
Done it by creating this zip theme https://www.box.com/shared/9oyinwsjjs5rrz6lzwcx
Do not use this yourself unless you've installed the exact same theme in your system. Use it as a template to modify your own theme.

Great stuff. Smaller locators make it feel easier to use too.
