vs.
Spec wise both phones are identical
the only real difference is that one has the t-mobile & Samsung logo in the front, and the other only has the Samsung logo
the tmo version also has a tmo customized boot animation, the telus version is plain samsung boot animation
tmo verison has extra tmo broadware apps, the telus version has only one extra broatware (Groupon)
which would you go for?
will you pay the extra $ for the unbranded version?

The one with bloatware crap that might get WiFi calling at some point.

I like the telus one less branding and bigger space to press the capacitive buttons. The Bloat can be removed with root. I wonder when samsung going to drop source code for this phone. Sprint and At&t already versions already have source code slightly before phones come out. Android police and engadget have already reviewed the tmobile samsung galaxy 2.

Why not just wait on the HD version of the phone? Although I'm not sure when that will be out.

the HD version is not AWS compatible

Hmm well do you really want to pay $150 more for the branding because everything else will go away when rooted

Save the extra dough and put it towards something else to play with and go for the Tmo version.

wow, if it weren't for the galaxy note coming out, I would definitely get the T-mobile version.
Really good pricing

go with the Tmobil version!!

People are saying the battery life is the worst on the t-mobile galaxy 2. I think its all that badly programmed bloatware on that phone. Also the phone is taking in lte speeds which means the phone uses more power to pull in data. It shows to say lte is over hyped. I think the adreno 220 is overclocked in this phone as well.

Good thing you can usually turn 4g off...

root will be around fast enough ...hell if they can unlock a phone on this site before the actual compny that produces it can i think root will be attainable in no time. save the money and get the tmo version. you can always call tmobile and have it unlocked for free

But hspa+ is 3g so if you turn it off you get edge. Ironically edge speeds on tmobile are faster than at&t 3g speeds.

Gsm battery door for Verizon Nexus

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone out there had any idea if the unlocked Gsm versions battery door would fit on the Verizon Nexus. I know its not out yet so we dont know for sure if its different but id like to see some of your guesses.
My reason for asking is strictly out of personal preference... I really dont care for carrier branding and ive owned both of the previous Nexus devices and ive grown a fondness to the Google logo being front and center..
Like i said just personal preference and im sure some of you may feel the same way. So let me know what you think. Thanks.
dont be surprised if there is a v on the front of it too
I don't see a V

Holy $800, Batman!
That is a Best Buy advertisement. They always inflate the price of off contract phones because they get more money when you sign up with a contract. It can be had off contract for less elsewhere.
the VZW nexus has a bigger battery AFAIK...so i would think the battery door would not fit.

i would want this as well. noone wants verizon on the back cover. i know who my carrier is.
Im hoping to buy the US 1850mAh battery for my GSM Galaxy Nexus. I hope it won't require a different battery door otherwise I will have to wait for Samsung or another OEM to make an extended battery for the UK model.
i doubt it would fit.
also...from pictures i've seen the verizon version is a different colour so the GSM battery door would look a little odd!

I think I've read in multiple reviews of the LTE version (including the engadget review) that the GSM back cover will not work on the Verizon Galaxy Nexus.
if there were any branding on the front of my phone (google or verizon) i would be MAD. but as far as the back cover goes I couldn't care less.

Think i just found sound proof that t-mobile will be getting the galaxy note 2;)

OK so I was just browsing xda and in general forum I seen the ota live updates posted by Adam. Very awesome by the way. Anyway the note 2 is supposed to be the t-889 and running 4.1.1 now the sgh and the T is a dead give away for T-Mobile and even more so in these screen shots the "t-889" is already running 4.1.1 and getting a maintenance update (small) to 4.1.1 also it has the same baseband as our beloved sgs3 UVALH2 . observe in screenshots......idk I think I stumbled right into that. I could be dead wrong but thought this was cool

have you paid for your GS3 all out? or if you sold it./.. would you still be paying equipment charge on that and on the note? or will the equipment charge just transfer to the new buyer?

I think the S3 is a better phone, it just needs to be rooted. I wouldn't trade it for the Nexus.
I would trade my nexus for gs3, want to trade with me?

The S3 is a newer phone with updated spec. What is it that you don't like about the S3?
I think the potential is there once it is rooted and gets injected with some sweet custom ROMs.
I just miss my gnex. Stock jelly bean and pure Google. I liked the phone better. And I'm getting $100 with it.

If you want a Gnex, simply trade for it. If you're going to be looking at your phone multiple times a day, you better make sure it's the one you want.
So what if the S3 has better hardware? If you want the Gnex more, the S3 isn't any better in your own POV at the end of the day.
Edit: and since I provided you with such wisdom, you can compensate me with the $100 you'' get from the trade

s3 doesnt have a customizable nav bar and will always be behind with android updates. Not to mention all the already great roms that have had plenty of time to work out any kinks on the nexus. The only thing I really want on my nexus is a memory card slot, Ill take a better camera but the one is has is pretty damn good for a phone anyway.
Id say take the trade, when I was looking for used phones the nexus was around 300 and the s3 around 400 so you fit right in there getting the extra bill.
Here's the ad for the one I'm gonna go for. I found a better deal, this +$110. This phone hasn't been used.

No it cannot be. There is no sim slot at all. You may be able to put it on straight talk or pageplus, but I have no idea if you could put it on any other cdma network. To my knowledge most other countries use gsm over cdma.

True. But ting scales depending on your usage. Although I wish it was unlimited everything.. Just can't afford a new $300 unlocked phone to go to another company. So stuck with ting

[Q] Which Model(s) Should I Buy Out of Contract for Unlocked use with AT&T

I have decided (if it is inexpensive enough) to purchase a Note 4 off-contract for use with AT&T.
My question is: which models are compatible with AT&T, in all respects. I don't want to sacrifice legitimate LTE connectivity, and I've read elsewhere that some of the factory-unlocked models don't play well with AT&T's LTE network, depending on where you live.
Obviously, my motivation for going this route is to get around the ongoing battle of AT&T locking the bootloaders on all of their Samsung devices, and given that I've had my S4 for 2 years with no unlock in sight...I'm never ever willing to go through 2 years of having a locked bootloader again.
Check this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2962920 as the T-Mobile appears to have all the necessary bands needed for use on ATT.

It certainly doesn't have ALL the necessary bands, but you could argue that it has enough of them
T-Mobile
I have the T-mobile version and AT&T version of the Note 4. The T-mobile version works as good or the same compared to the at&t phone. The only issue i had was a few calls to at&t to stop them from seeing it as a blackberry. once that was fixed I've had zero issues whatsoever. Your mileage might vary depending upon what bands your area uses. If i had to do it again, i would most defiantly only buy the T-mobile version of the Note 4. My AT&T version is just a spare $852 paperweight sitting in the drawer due to the locked bootloader. Not to mention the T-Mobile version is $100 less on costs. Oh well i guess i have a spare screen just in case.
I would think the att version would be cheaper than T-Mobile because T-Mobile has unlocked bootloader. Why do you need unlocked boot loader? For Roms?

Maybe. I'm using square trade for warranty. It's $5 month with a deductible of only $75. But yup. I have AT&T version and T-Mobile phone. I bought both on payments.

I like square trade and would recommend it but it doesn't cover stolen/lost phones. And they always have a good deal like $100 for 2 year warranty.
