T-mobile Galaxy note 2 Warranty in USA and world wide? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

I just bought galaxy note 2 from T-mobile for 700$. I don't want a contact. Ao, just the phone and I wanna use 4G month to month plan. I have a few questions.
1. The warranty in USA for T-mobile galaxy note2, as I don't have a contact with T-mobile. Do I still have a 1 year warranty? Is it warranty from T-mobile or Samsung itself? I want to confirm this as the sale told me that I have to deal with Samsung myself in case of claiming for warranty. Is this true? I heard that galaxy note 2 international version is not covered by US warranty.
2. T-mobile Galaxy note 2 US version is covered by world wide warranty from Samsung like international version?
3. Can this phone be unlocked for any carrier from any country? I will have to move back to Thailand. I am not sure that I can put Thai SIM card in or not. Please confirm this for me.
Thank you for the reply and response.
I appreciate every comment and thank you so much.

It's easy to get an unlock code from T-mo customer service especially since you are not on contract. Give them a call. Once unlocked your T-mo phone will work with any GSM carrier in the world.
I think Samsung warranty works only in the country where it is meant to be sold. All Samsung units have a region or country code. Even if they are all international versions, they have different codes especially if you bought the units from 3rd party retailers, online etc. Warranty will still apply but you might need to ship the unit back to the country of origin where it will be serviced. So T-mo units will only be serviced under warranty in the US, not in Samsung service centers in Thailand. You can have it serviced there but might have to pay fees.
---------- Post added at 02:35 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:26 PM ----------
Manufacturer's warranty is almost always to be coordinated with the manufacturer.
T-mo's responsibility is only up to the 14 day return period. (30 days in CA). Malfunctions within that period, just have the phone replaced by T-mo.
Physical damage is not covered by warranties, rather by insurance.

Call T-mo have them unlock it, and bam!

ofcourse it does. you just have to be in the USA to have warranty work done to it.
take your T-mo Note II to a European samsung repair center and they won't touch it.

you can unlock the phone's SIM yourself for free

Will the warranty be void if I unlock the device via a 3rd party unlock service?

GSM Galaxy Nexus Available in U.S. March 21st

http://www.androidcentral.com/gsm-samsung-galaxy-nexus-launch-regional-carrier-i-wireless-march-21
A regional carrier in Iowa will be selling it. Anyone waiting for a GN with a U.S. warranty, your wait is over.

Does this mean some sort of US support for the rest of us? Meaning if we had to call in Samsung regarding the GSM galaxy nexus the phone agent will finally have a script to read to us?
Hopefully we can get repairs done in Samsung US service centers too.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
I highly doubt they will offer any international Nexus owners repair services...even for a fee. This has been my only consideration of selling mine and waiting for a more local option because I have no options should the worst happen.

There's a few cellphone repair companies that could fix something that goes wrong with gnex. However I agree that not having an official service center being able to look at the phone in the US is big downside.

Made a post about this, and got some useless replies. Here's from my post.
Called iwireless.com today...and they are indeed selling the GSM Galaxy Nexus. They'll even sell them to non-customers, though they told me they only have one left right now, but they're getting more Friday.
This is the FIRST time the GSM pentaband has been sold in the USA, correct? This is huge to me, because it comes with a USA warranty. The last thing I want is to import the phone, and then Samsung won't even service it.
So do you think the iwireless version is the exact same as the world phone? Like if I buy an imported phone, will Samsung even know the difference, or will they say "sorry, yours is grey market, it can't be serviced here." Possibly by the IMEI number?
Very intriguing. I'm of course hoping that T-mobile gets it for real soon. Still waiting to hear what the SGH-T999 is. Anyone buy one of these from iwireless?

They'd need a receipt of purchase to do a warranty job. So unless you bought from iwireless I would assume the rest of us won't be covered because our phones weren't bought within the region it was intended for.

When I sent my Nexus S in for warranty repair I was never asked for a receipt (good thing, because I bought the phone used). However, the model number is probably different if the phone was imported.

I wonder if the model number is the same as Canada - i9250M?
And more importantly, are there new radios that come with the U.S. model?
Well, if the requirement for warranty service is a USA receipt...if the phone is identical to the imported phones from europe and canada, couldn't you just buy a phone from Amazon and say "Hi, here's my receipt from the company Amazon in the USA."
Can anyone confirm if the iwireless model is in anyway different?
And even ignoring warranty issues, does this mean Samsung USA will now repair an imported Galaxy Nexus? Because heck, I'd rather pay closer to $500 for some of these imported models and get zero warranty, I just want to make sure I can get it repaired if I have any issues.

Just spoke to a level 2 phone agent at Samsung Wireless US. The phones iwireless are selling are actually imported as well so they technically do not have US warranty. Any repairs or defects you might have will be done through iwireless, I'm assuming they'd have to swap it out or mail back to country of origin.
So we still have zero US support on galaxy nexus. I'm still trying to get my earpiece speaker fixed and they don't even have the part for it.
Hello, How are you?
Please, Does someone know any news about Galaxy Nexus GSM version availability in USA?
Is it safe to order it online at Expansys?

Google Play Galaxy Nexus Warranty and Price after Tax and Shipping?

Hey guys, since I didn't find any relevant threads so I am starting a new one. If you do find a similar one, guide me to it and pardon my ignorance.
I want to ask two questions.
1. What is the price on the $350 Galaxy Nexus from Google Play with Taxes + Shipping?
2. What is the Warranty one gets on the phone if one buys from Google Play?
I read the following in the Galaxy Nexus review section on Amazon here.
4. You still can't buy the GSM version with a Samsung USA warranty... but if you buy it from a reputable international retailer they will broker your international warranty claims, or you can get it with a 3rd-party USA warranty from such as Newegg. Maybe one day you will be able to get the GSM version with a Samsung USA warranty, but I'm starting to lose hope. I even tried contacting Samsung USA support but they won't touch the i9250 for repairs, even if you're willing to pay

Yes, I will of course root and tweak my Galaxy Nexus, but what bothers me, from the aforementioned quote, is; if there is a hardware problem Samsung will not even consider touching it, be it a paid service.

Just bought mine today. $386.46 with tax and shipping. As for the warranty I have no idea. The Play store just says to read the warranty card that comes with the device. But I'll probably Unlock the Bootloader and Root as soon as I get it.

Shipping to Texas I paid right at $381. The warranty is a 1 year manufacturers warranty. Yes rooting voids the warranty but if you are smart enough to root you should be able to unroot and relock the boot loader with no problems in the event you need warranty work.

Warranty info
Here's a little clarification on the warranty:
If you discover a problem in the first 14 days, you can return it to Google and get your money back or a new phone. If not, you're stuck with Samsung by mail, no stores to bring it into for instant repair/replacement, and horrible tech support service from both companies (who bounce you back and forth between them, and tell you to do things like put your phone into airplane mode while you're talking to them on it -- which disconnects the phone of course!).
I was sold a dud phone from Google Play with broken wifi, but I didn't fully debug the problem in the first 14 days, so I'm stuck with Samsung's slow service by mail. Google has made it clear that they will not support me, even though they sold a faulty product. I've now been a month and a half without the phone while I've sent it back to Samsung twice for repairs -- it came back in even worse condition after the first repair. I strongly recommend that you do NOT buy directly from Google Play, as they're an internet company and don't have a clue how to support real products. While I like my new Android's features better than my old iPhone, I miss the days when I could just walk into the Apple store and they FIX the problem.

Note 7, AT&T or T Mobile

I want to buy a Note 7 by paying full price, which is best option to go? AT&T or T Mobile? (Regarding Bloatware)
When the unlocked version of Note 7 can be released?
Which carrier do you have? Both have bloat, I think T-Mobile might be worse though. If you can, wait for the 935U or get the 935F now.
I have seen 935F in B&H, And B&H is providing 1 year warranty for it and they said it is imported mobile. If accidentally my screen is broken will official Samsung customer service replace my screen? Or they may have some policies like they don't repair imported devices like that?
I don't know about Samsung, but I bought a moto x force from Mexico and it got a cracked screen, when I contacted Motorola about a repair and the costs they basically told me no since the phone isn't supposed to be in the US. That and an issue with a Turbo 2 is the reason I don't give my money to those commie bastards anymore.
To be sure though just call up, or email Samsung support and see what they say.

Wow, Samsung Canada is so good. It's baffling to me how different legs of Samsung are handling this completely differently. My friend, who purchased a Note 7 in Singapore but lives in the Philippines, had to purchase a flight back to Singapore to exchange because Samsung Philppines told him "no chance" they're taking back his Singapore Note 7, and here's the thing, once my friend got to Singapore, he realized the exchange process requires an appointment and they're all booked up the two days he's there, and even after telling Samsung Singapore his predicament (he flew in for two days just to exchange the phone), they're not guaranteeing they can help him.

I agree this is not a fair exchange. If you don't mind sharing their response that would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

He probably should have saved the money to buy another phone instead. Just imagine with the cost of the air tickets nowadays!

We would be more than happy to provide you with a Canadian Note7 phone in silver colour, however, the Canadian version is a single Sim model. Can we proceed to send this to you?
Sincerely,
Samsung Electronics Canada
I love this phone, but I really regret buying this. Pretty much everything I own is samsung. I will think hard before purchasing anything of theirs in the future. I appreciate the magnitude of what they are trying to accomplish, but this is their making, not mine. I expect to be made whole on what I paid a lot of money for. I can be patient, but I expect what I paid for, nothing less, nothing more.

I know exactly what you're saying. I paid for the N930FD to be imported, I want the dual SIM for traveling and the colour gold. I didn't shell out almost $1400CAD after US to CAD conversion & customs to be handed a Canadian version which I could of gotten for $499-$599 CAD with a new contract... What really concerns me is that whole FAA banning Note 7 thing as I said before I want the FD version cause of travel purposes but if I cant even take it with me .

I'm in a situation now where i called Samsung exchange again, to see wtf is the hold up and she takes all my info and IMEI again. Then tells me that she's getting the IMEI number is invalid crap. I already registered the damn phone fine i told her 2 weeks ago. So now she has to esco this and who knows how long i have to wait..I think i'm done with Samsung now once and for all. Now i have no idea what to be interested in and do not like the lack of features the Nexus devices have.
so pissed...
im trying to find the email response i got when i registered, what was the subject title when they responded, anyone?

I'm going to call Samsung today to see what they can do. I'm in the US with the FD. I got a replacement for the first device, but even this new one says to exchange it. If the only option is carrier branded I'll get it then sell it to purchase the FD
