So...Finally I bought this phone without finding an answer...Result is, that Galaxy Note 3 Neo doesn't have built-in pedometer (for using with S Health you need Galaxy gear equipment).

Tried this?

Actually you can see those sensors available in the CPU-Z app. I also saw some newer devices to use these permissions in system/etc/permission
android.hardware.sensor.stepcounter.xml
android.hardware.sensor.stepdetector.xml
which N3 Neo doesnt have. Also some libs might be missing.
I never tried those cause do not use them. You need to be rooted to add them into system and try then if it works. It might be that with KK update they will add those features.

Thank you for erudite and constructive answer. It is very helpful for me to understand it. I hope they add it to device (so I think, that chance is really small). :fingers-crossed:
Sure...I tried Noom walk, Step counter 2.0 and Runtastic Pedometer on several devices, but accuracy was really poor, even after calibration of all settings in apps. But thanks fylim for your answer.

Try runtastic pedometer pro and runtastic heart rate monitor!! They are awesome and accurate! [emoji1][emoji41]

[REQ] working deodexed s memo

The s memo app is currently not working in a deodexed state.
I presume this app has a dependency on the smemoprovider.apk found under system/app .
Can anyone correctly deodex the apps to be functional on deodexed roms?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
(I also tried myself - by no means a developer but it didn't work either)
Why you don't use "Evernote" ?
It have more functions & is on the Market available for free.

It has improved since the last Time I used it but I actually use the drawing feature often and the eveenote version just doesn't compare. Besides I don't believe in replacement, there must be a way for it to function it's bugging me :banghead:

I have already got that and thankyou very much.
I'm looking for 's memo ' which is different to the memo app (lets you draw and such)
If you do find a way to remove its dependency please let me know.
Thanks anyway

I tryed many of memos from market , to find the best for my needs .
Everynote and S memo was the best i saw , my S memo have some problem , the Everynote is free but with with restriction , so you need to upgrade to premium to use the full features , and its annoying that 99% of not free market apps are permanent licenses as the everynote have 1 month license or one year (
So i really would stick with S memo as its original Samsung and simple as it must be ,...
I really need this memo prog as i have to take pictures of my work and attach files, and make some notes ...so i have a big problem with S MEMO.
If i try to make a new memo , and i take a picture or i choose from gallery i choose then my picture doesnt appearing just blank note ,strange if i choose from my clipboard then its working , .
Another issue when i take a picture and it doesnt appearing i noticed that i'm not in the editor mode just view mode and then if i try to slide the memo left or right to another memo ... i can see the taken picture between the memos in that small column gap in the background , i can see that the picture have the editable nodes etc, so its appearing just somehow in the back of memos so its unusable .
maybe i wrote a bit complicated , but ...
Someone please encounter the same , or have some solution ?? !

Anyone got the free Navigon Australian app working?

Hi all.
Has anyone managed to get the free Samsung Australian Navigon app working?.
It just says our device isnt supported when I try.
See attached screen shot.
I know u could probably change the build prop to get it working, but I would rather not!
Cheers
Corey

Corey.. mate...
You're right... for some reason the navigon app isn't working on the Note II. If you have a look at the comments under the Navigon app in Samsung's app store, you'll see a lot of people have mentioned the same thing.
I am waiting for the phone to launch in Australia so I can grab the official Australian firmware and flash it. Hope it works then!
Cheers!
let us know

if you do manage to get it to run by flashing over to the stock australian firmware, let us know, as i'd like to do the same, but i've not been able to find a rom yet, apart from the optus one for the n7105, which i think might brick my n7100 if i tried to use it.
have you tried changing the csc code? or the product.locale in the build.prop file? if you could get the navigon app to think the handset was australian in that way, perhaps that would do the trick.

Hi,
Yes I already tried that,
I couldn't find a csc for Australia, so i couldn't try that.
And i tried changing the product locale, but it didn't work.
I think that our device hasn't been added to the supported devices list in the navigon app, so maybe if I change the device id I could make it think our device is a s3 or something.
Does anyone know which line in the build prop I should change the device id on?, as the are a few with our devices name on, but i tried changing one a while ago, and my phone wouldn't turn on, and I couldn't get in recovery, so i would rather not do that again
Cheers

Free SSX by EA Mobile (PS3 & Xbox 360 version) for Xperia Devices on Nexus 4 [APK]

Free SSX by EA Mobile (PS3 & Xbox 360 version) for Xperia Devices on Nexus 4 [APK]
I just came across some news that EA released SSX for free exclusively for Xperia devices. It's the version that's on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
The game just does a check on build.prop so to get it to run on a Nexus 4, all I did was spoof mines to an Xperia Z Ultra.
To spoof your Nexus 4 into an Xperia Z Ultra, change the following lines (MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR BUILD.PROP!):
ro.product.model=Nexus 4 (or whatever is here)
ro.product.brand=google (or whatever is here)
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
to
ro.product.model=C6802
ro.product.brand=Sony
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Save and reboot your phone.
After you run the game once and are past the phone model check, you can change your build.prop back to its original state.
The game will run without checking your build.prop until you either uninstall it or wipe the game's data.

Works as advertised. Thank you, I haven't modded a build prop for a game since my Archos tablet.
work flawlessly for me. thanks for sharing pal.
Tried this method for Asus TF701T ( Tegra 4 ) but it didn't work at all, bypass seems to be viable only on Nexus 4 !
BUT thanks for sharing the tip (;
Works great here as we

Hi,
Does anyone have a list of the £500 or so Freebys that I hear we get with the note 12.2?
I found Hancom office in the Samsung apps (app) but the Samsung apps now appear to have disappeared with the latest update?
I also found we get a year evernote pro subscription but what else thanks...

Sketchbook Pro should come pre-installed. If not, you need to look for Sketchbook for Galaxy, not the default app.
For me, it's listed under Galaxy Apps --> Menu --> Purchased --> All.

Best bet would be to back the Hancom Office apps up using titanium backup or helium then restore them after flashng CM.

Can a custom ROM prevent Samsung remotely killing or hobbling Note 7?

Hi,
If I install a custom ROM on my note 7, will this prevent the phone being remotely disabled or hobbled by Samsung?
I remember that, with my original Note 7, when the update that limited battery life came through there was no way of preventing it.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I think that it depends on how and if Samsung plans to disable the phones.
If they just do it through software updates to restrict or disable then the updates can be blocked.
But if Samsung decides to have the carriers blacklist the imei then that can't be prevented by blocking software updates.
Only way around that would be to change the imei. But that is a whole different can of worms. Also illegal.
And yes the update on the original note 7 was preventable. I'm still using mine without the battery restrictions. App used was package disabler pro.
Ah, thanks for the heads up! I didn't even know what an IMEI was until you mentioned it.
If I was to simply use my Note 7 as tablet (i.e. not even putting a SIM in it), would there be anyway for Samsung or my carrier to detect that I still had possession of the phone? Even without a SIM you can still make emergency calls so I presume the phone is still connected to a mobile network.
Also, could you elaborate on how to use package disabler pro to prevent updates? I have installed it and can see a list of packages that can be disabled but not sure which one to disable in order to prevent updates.
