Tylt Wireless Charger for LG G3 - T-Mobile LG G3

After messing with some cheap wireless chargers on Ebay and getting the slow charging I said screw that and bought two Tylt wireless chargers for $35 each at a T-Mobile store. Not all stores have them and it took the manager some time to even find the SKU to check inventory at stores. The SKU is SUPM39575. Happy with the Tylt since it's made well and you just place it on and it charges fast enough. Some chargers are picky with the G3 but the Tylt doesn't require any sweet spot to charge. Amazon and Micro center carry the Tylt but it probably cost more.
Tylt probably works with most cases. It does with my Nillkin. I haven't tried with my Insignia case yet.
You need a sticker for wireless charging. I got mine from this thread (thanks iazybandit). Not sure if he has anymore.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/accessories/feeler-buy-qi-nfc-sticker-t2827738
Also you can get them from this place in China. Not sure if Ebay has any yet.
Tylt has a light at the bottom and turns green when charging. If it turns red pull it off and put back on.

Picked up one today. Called 3 different T-Mobile stores. The one I happened upon that I didn't call had them. Only bought one since I already have a Nokia one.

I used the Tylt Vue with my Nexus 5 and absolutely loved it. It's just been sitting on my nightstand the past month until I could figure out how to get wireless charging to work with my G3.
I finally ordered THIS BACKPLATE that finally arrived and after installing it wireless charging is working great!

Tmobile have it for $35? I called two stores and they say it's $70.

Price shows up at checkout.

Thanks for this tip. I had to call around about 5 locations but found one with two in stock. They also had a buy two get one free on accessories so I ended up with a external battery pack for free.

Damn. I wonder why the manager didn't tell me about the buy two accessories get one free. I don't really need another accessory though. Lol

I got them at 35.00 in Chicago 2 days ago.

Using the Tylt Vu with my D851, works flawlessly and charges at full speed. Very happy.

I think that promo is over, just tried and they showed up as 69.99 each. 52.70 after the 25% off back to school promo code. I ended up buying two from Amazon for 59 each (no tax, free 2-day shipping).

I just bought from a place near Chicago and they actually have discount stickers on them, with $34.99 on the front (the original price sticker on the back).
What sort of speed are you getting with charging? It seems to me that it charges a fair bit slower than I was getting with my USB charger.
That said, I have never used the LG charger. I've been using the 2A charger from my Note 2 and the 1.8 blackberry charger that was spoken of highly by a member here.

You should see about 20-25% an hour. This is what I get with mine.

I saw it for $70 I had no idea they were marked down looks like I'll pick one up tomorrow then!
I just ordered a gold battery cover whoop whoop.

Can't find them for $35 here in NYC at all. Nor on T-Mobile's website.
It charges as fast as the wired charger for me.

I think that's about what I'm getting.. but I'm sure I was getting much quicker speeds with the wired charger. I'm going to do some tests over the next few days to see for sure.

Wow, you just missed it. These were on sale for 50% off direct from Tylt. They were selling them for $35. Site now show all sold out, sorry. Alternatively you can get one of these:
http://www.amazon.com/Standard-Wireless-Charging--Shipping-Distributed/dp/B00LE6X5VU/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1417572633&sr=8-11&keywords=qi+charger
Its a Vu clone but works just as well. I also own this version and really they work the same. Highly recommend it as well.

Did you guys get the sticker or a complete new back cover? Wondering which would be the better route (price aside).

I bought a back replacement from Korea total cost was $26 from eBay. Best investment so far. At the time all sellers for the stickers did not have any in stock would have loved to save some money but I'm content and know this is LG made. Get yourself a quality qi charger too. I was lucky and walked into a T-Mobile store in Edison NJ while I was working and they had 2 Tylt Vue chargers on sale for $35. Works flawlessly. At another T-Mobile store in Astoria NY they had on display the new Samsung qi charger for their S6 and it was only able to slow charge my G3. Same thing at a bestbuy too only slow charging on the S6 qi charger.

I ended up getting a complete back cover. Also bought a red Tylt off Amazon's Warehouse Deals. Pretty excited! Just got my phone in today, rooted, put in krowley3's "cleanrom". Loving the phone so far.

qi wireless request

hi just received my long awaited qi wireless pad from china only to find it does not include the receiver part that fits over battery, bahh!!!
does anyone know where i can purchase one from in the UK ,Dont want to wait all that time again ,your help would be greatly appreciated .
sorry, but that seems to be the only choice unless you can find an ebay seller who sells in the UK.
You might want to contact that seller to get them to ship the receiver pad to you.
I would've suggested against getting the transmitter from them to begin with though. apparently the 2nd gen ones are picky and unreliable.

Something you don't want to hear, is these receiver are becoming unreliable just like the transmitter, with cases reported to either DOA or stop working after a while with some of the new batches, there are some good new, it's only a small %.
Apparently it's all related to rushed production with bad QC due to great demand.
Mostly with the name 'Charmlink' printed on the front label, so it's best to ask if there is warranty for them.
Another option for Canada and USA buyers, this guarantees no bulky look because it replaces a new cover for you.:good:

that's pretty slick. Should have been stock from Samsung so cases were built off those specs. I would imagine any case that fits well won't work with that cover. Still pretty sweet setup.
that back piece will not fit with any case whatsoever. It's a different size and you'll either have to mod the case or the battery cover.
The receiver pad by itself would add a slight bump that can be circumvented with a more "restricting" case like the otterbox or the ballistic sg

Samsung didn't and does not plan for the phone to be as thick as it will be with this cover on....Here is a Pic of what the other side looks like....now you get a better idea of how thick it is....They left the pics of the back off , out of the Ad for a reason....LOL..

got my Qi pad from Fasttech today. Ordered the 28th, shipped the 30th. Arrived today. Currently $14.80 shipped Also got the wireless charger from Nokia. $38 with company discount (otherwise about $50) from ATT or Verizon. Works like a champ.
Fun Facts
Fits under OEM cover. Small Hump, barely noticeable. (< 1/16 inch hump)
Diztronic TPU Matte Black Case fits great
Charges about 10% in 30 Minutes. Similar to plug.
NFC works fine. Zero issues.
for Reference, I am running DarthStalker X, Stock Kernel.
yup. the Qi receiver pad seems the be the best choice in terms of getting to put your own case of choice as well as not losing NFC at the same time.
I believe the charging speed is a little faster than usb but slower than AC (according to the receiver pad).
the more flexible cases seem to be the ones that can cope with the bump.
Could anyone recommend a trusted website or seller to by the charging pad from?

I see that the N72 charger is only 1.35a. I thought that the N71 charger was 2a, but I could be mistaken and am too lazy to run upstairs and check.
Either way, I'm sure I have some 2a USB charger lying around the house somewhere, or could get one for a few bucks on Amazon. I'm not sure if that's just a suggestion or is actually required. I think it comes down to how much energy your device can draw. I imagine that, unlike a directly plugged in device, using wireless chargers will result in a slower charge cycle as a larger amount of the energy is lost, so it probably needs to be greater than what it normally uses. I know that, in general, you can use a higher mA output than what is required, as the device will only draw what it can/needs, but not sure about how wireless works in this regard.

I've followed a few reviews on this one since I have the S4 and was considering picking up the whole kit. The ones that mentioned trying another charger stated it didn't work. Wireless charging does work a bit differently since you lose some energy transferring the power to the induction coil.
I don't have time to source the reviews right now, but that might point you in the right direction.

This QI charger seems to be made to fit a Galaxy Phone. The edges seem to be tapered and possibily not allow the N7 to fix flush thus no charging. 50% off sounds like a good idea but it is a waste of money if it doesn't work.

just a heads up guys, searching across my multiple chargers in the house as a previous user mentioned the hp touchpads charger is 2.0a as well as the first gen nexus 7. As far as I can see motorola, htc, lg and even the new chromecast chargers are lower than 2.0a and thus not good for this pad.

CHOE Qi wireless charging pad questions

Hi all
I've been looking for a really cheap wireless charging pad for this amazing tablet cause they about $140 in the store by me in South Africa. I found this one but I was wondering if anyone has had experiance with it. How well does it work and how does it connect to the wall as we use different plugs in South Africa and we also work at 220v.
Basically I wanna know if it would be compatible with the tablet and with South Africa's systems?
I live in New York, USA. I bought one but it's shipping from China so it'll take a while to get to me. However, I will report back once I get it and try it out.
I'll tell you my experience but I have absolutely no idea if it'll work with South African systems / utilities / electric configurations or not.
It is powered by a USB cable. Thus, if you have a power brick that's compatible to power USB devices I'm sure it'll work fine.
P.S. As a little FYI the white version is slightly cheaper if that matters for anyone.

Took exactly 7 Business days for it to arrive to me (Ordered Aug 11th evening arrived Aug 20th). Right now it's charging my Nexus 7 (2013). It's maintaining charge rate even with the screen on the entire time (using instant messaging / texting); I'm not really using anything too battery intensive.
So far so good. I'll put it through the wringer for the next week so we'll see if it acts funny or stops working. However, for the past 30 minutes it's been okay.
What case are you using with it?
Edit: nvm, saw your other post, can you recommend a case similar to it in the same price range

Yeah I'm looking for another case or possibly a sleeve. I'm seeing what turns out in a thread about the Poetic and the Moko
For those who are interested in this topic the case Blade Zero was referring to that I have was the rooCASE Dual-View which does NOT work with the CHOE Qi charger.

So after using it for a few days, it's pretty good. I've used the CHOE with my Samsung Galaxy S III (i747) with the Qi receiver and my Nexus 7 2013
One minor annoyance is that the CHOE device itself has a blinking blue LED to indicate when it's charging. I don't know if that's something other people would like, but personally I find it redundant since my devices will say on their screen if they're charging or with an LED indicator themselves. This matters for me for 2 reasons: a) My phone blinks with a blue LED to indicate when I've received a new text message, so this throws me off there, and b) I am an energy Nazi at times, and when I see that blinking blue LED go off when I hook it up to my solar panels, I feel like that's energy not going into my battery reserves or in my phone / Nexus's battery.
The Nexus 7 2013 does charge at a decent rate, but during energy intensive operations (streaming with ChromeCast, IM chatting on Skype, and browsing the web), it did lose charge faster than it was gaining through Qi, which didn't happen under the same system demands when charging through USB cable. However, under normal use, without excessive abuse as previously mentioned, the CHOE Qi charger was able to charge up to par.
Only complaint I have is that I wish the surface of the device was some sort of rubber instead of hard plastic, because if my devices aren't on a flat surface they can easily slip out of place (or completely off the device) and discontinue charging. I've done a splendid job by jury rigging the device with rubber bands!!! to prevent my devices from slipping off.
For a budget Qi Charger I'd say it was definitely worth it, and probably going to be harder to find a deal. It also came with a USB micro B cable with the Charger, with a length of about that of the stock Nexus 7 2013 cable.
My current Nexus 4 qi mat works perfect with my new nexus 7. Worth a look if you use multiple Android wireless charging capable devices.

Look for the Morceo TX-5600. It is the EXACT same 10,000mah wireless charger as the Choe one, as they are both made by the same manufacturer.
Shipping is fast from Choe, I had mine within a week, just know that the black one has a GOLD band around the side, it is not mat or bronze like it looks in the pics, it is GOLD. At any rate, mine from China arrived in a weeks time via Amazon. The Morceo version (Identical) is on Amazon & ships from Amazon, for $60.00.

My current Nexus 4 qi mat works perfect with my new nexus 7. Worth a look if you use multiple Android wireless charging capable devices.

That's an extraordinarily high price when you can pick up the same thing from Ebay for less than $20! My Nexus 7 goes on this one each night, with its Asus case fitted, and is fully charged by next morning:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261275119...eName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
It's plugged into the charger that came with the Nexus.
Use Wireless charging with Slimport
Has anyone used a wireless charger with a slimport connected and outputting to a TV? The stock charger connected to the device doesn't charge my Nexus 7. It slowly discharges instead. I wanted to know if I can keep the Device on a wireless charging pad while connected to slimport.
if anyone has both the hardware, can u please try it and out provide your review.
Thanks

PIMT! I ordered the black one, as even though I like the idea of white electronics, I feel like they're too "attention-grabbing". Also, I think the black one was cheaper when I ordered it.

LG G3 851 Supports Wireless Charging

So my back cover has two electrical contacts, I swear wireless charging works.... hehe JK. You definitely need the right cover but the phone DOES support QI charging.
After I pre-ordered the G3 I ordered an OEM slim case from Korea, not realizing it had different electrical contacts than the US version. I read the Anandtech review, they had the 855, figured the US versions had it built in... Sadly, we know the story. So I pulled the wireless charging coil from the OEM slim case and moved it into my original back. It took me two tries to get it lined up but QI wireless charging does work. I have pics but I've only been a lurker on the forum so I can't upload pics. With the placement right now NFC doesn't work... but I mainly just wanted to confirm that QI worked.
I tested with two different QI chargers, both older that were designed with the Nexus 4. The nexus 4 orb wcp-400 and the flat wcp-700. Both were able to charge the G3. However, as others have reported the G3 is very picky about placement on the charger. On both chargers I get 'charging slowly' messages on most placements on the charger. It takes perfect placement for them to display a 'normal' charging message. However, I'm skeptical of these messages, because it does say that the phone IS charging and it didn't matter what charger I had connected, (1.8A, 2.4A, QI,good/bad placement) the estimated battery recharge time was exactly the same.... I'll do some tests and see how long it takes to charge from ~50%, with perfect placement and the non perfect placement too vs the cable.
So TLDR any of the US carriers QI back covers should enable wireless charging with the Tmobile 851. Maybe once I have enough posts I can upload pics. :cyclops:
I can also confirm that this back works for Qi wireless charging one the d851 - http://www.ebay.com/itm/151340368484?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
I am thinking of moving the coil to my Quickcircle- then I will have what they should of delivered...
My backplate will be here early next week. No carrier branding on it so win win
All of G3 varients support wireless charging...just matter of finding the right cover or grabbing the circle case

I ordered the white one but there are links to Grey and Gold if needed on that page. Same seller. Just a heads up though, AT&T has locked theirs down so that it only supports powermat chargers not qi. The other 3 "should" be fine with this backplate.
Edit: suppose the link would help lol

personally looking for a stock back plate that'll work. the Quick Cover is nice and all, but I'd probably trash it like throwing money into the toilet.

Sorry I don't trust ebay at all. The first 5 times is my last 5 times
Not all, support Qi. AT&T's does PMA for some retarded reason.
They have a deal with PMA so of course they are going to request and push that standard.
Personally I think PMA and Qi need to be locked into a room and come up with a single standard.
PMA can suck it
charging through a case
anyone tried wireless charging through a slim case?
Um are the prices going to get lower than $40? I thought the back would be a cheap purchase.
Well got my cover today. Can confirm that it does work with QI charging . Unbranded is a double win. It's an actual LG cover intended for these units just before they stamp the carrier logo on it. Win win.

Grey keeps selling out rather fast as that color seems to be more popular. The listing for this one was http://m.ebay.com/itm?itemId=151340368484. All the ~$20 backplates I've seen are just replacements and don't have the charging coil, just NFC.
If you keep an eye on that seller they'll probably come back. When I ordered mine, all 3 colors were available.

One Plus Warp Car Charger Worth $50 Bucks

Anyone have it, used it, and think it's worth the price of admission? Is there a close alternative? I love the wall charger and it is fast, but $50.00 for a car charger seems a little high.
U can get the original one and gives u dash charge speed, that I swhat I am using and good enough for me, all thier accessories are over priced like Apple
If you want WARP charging in your car....what other option do you have....so in that sense, yes it is worth it.
Oppo super vooc / vooc is cheaper and works same as warp.

Source in the US ? I only found $40 plus shipping overseas or close to $50 on eBay/Amazon ... and no cable.
I have a qualcomm 3.0 w port black web car charger. I wont need the wrap charge in car because only time i use to charge phone in car is to uber, and that could be 4 hours plus enough time for regular charge speed
Worth is relative. For me, in no world is a car charger ever "worth" $50. I'd rather just charge at 2 amps or whatever for that price.
get the previous dash car charger, i use that for my OP7 PRO and it charges it insanely fast
Any dash or warp chargers with 2 or more USB ports on them?
I purchased it and in my opinion it is worth every penny. Reason being is i usually forget to put my phone on charge before I go to bed and have a fifty minute commute to work. So by the time I get to work I'm fully charged considering I already have some juice in my OnePlus 7 pro. Oh and btw it's a lot faster than the last series of dash charge.
I bought the dash car charger from OnePlus when I got the OnePlus 5 and when I sold the 5 to buy the 6 I kept the car charger. So when I was buying the 7Pro 8/256 I saw the price and thought NOPE I'll keep the dash charger again and put the $50 towards the phone and got the 7Pro 12/256
No way is that worth $50 when I can get the upgraded phone for the same price. It charges fast when when using Maps, no need to warp charging in the car for that price.

At 45-50% battery I'll be 100% in about 35-40 minutes on my dash car charger I've had for the past 2 years.

The 2 port ones that claim to be DASH charge compatible on Amazon have gotten reviews that say the claim is BS

I always "hand down" my old OnePlus to either my kids or friends and with it goes the car charger... I'm sure the WARP charger will come down in price like the DASH did l, eventually... Folks were *****ing about it's price of $30 in 2016. I used a 5% student discount when I bought the 256/12 gig version, so upgrading the charger was a no brainier.

I bought one for my 6T almost never use it. Normally I slow change because I don't need the fast charging. I can charge while at work and overnight. I do have some PD chargers and that will speed things up.
Better be worth it for €50 I've one one the way. My last 4 phone's were from One Plus and I've had the dash charge for years it still works but now it's got to be faster I guess if I get a few years out of it €50 isn't bad for that kind of technology. You would easily spend on a night out and would think nothing of it.

i have it and will be testing it soon on a longish car trip
Warp charge is worth it for me. I usually just charge my phone from home to work and back. I like that it automatically opens whatever APK you want and puts the phone in do not disturb mode
FYI, these cables work just fine WARP Charging my OP7 PRO

I got it on launch day at TMobile for 25% off. To me it's worth even the 50$. I rarely need warp charge in house as I have more time to charge and it works fine and fairly quick with my pixel 3xl usb-pd charger. Now my commute and average drive times are 10-20 minutes. It's far more effective there as I can get a quick 20-30% battery boost.
