5.type cd c:/WFS
6.type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
7.wait for flashing to finish
8.Remove battery
9.Go to bootloader
10. click recovery wait for visuals
ROOTING:
*same as other methods*but..

Maybe you need to run the file as Administrator. Or try to download the zip file again...
But you DON'T REALLY NEED s-off to install custom ROMs. It's even more likely that you will brick your phone when it is s-off when you are able to change initial partitions.
Really?!! Thank you!!

The only thing you have to remember when you have s-on hTC phone - every time when you will flash custom ROM, you must flash compatible kernel manually using fastboot command (recovery is not able to flash boot partition when s-on). So read OPs very carefully about kernels compatible with that ROM. Most often the best kernel file is included within a ROM zip file (boot.img). Good luck!
Really thank you!

Can I flash this? Since I got it rooted, s off and super CIDed (with "11111111")
Hi, I use Tmobile on a verizon m8 factory unlocked, rooted and s offed thru Sunshie before I flashed ARHD 22.1 and soft bricked it. Restored back to verizon stock (still rooted and s off, Sunshine is awesome).
Then I decided to super CID it to "11111111"
Questions:
1) What could be the reason I bricked it--no super CID or the ROM simply, for some reason, wasn't compatible with my device?
2) (kind of a follow up question)Now that I super CIDed it, do I have a much better chance ARHD won't brick it? And also am I ready to flash this Rom here (t-moble stock rooted right?)?
3)I use both rom installer and flashify on my phone and I flashed a newer twrp under flashify than the twrp I flashed under rom installer (which I didn't realize). When I tried to enter recovery to create backup it's stuck on "entering recovery" screen until I suspected the reason mentioned above and flashed the older version again under rom installer that I was able to use twrp again...
My question: Is it better to use only one of these two apps?

Best way to root my M8

there is one but you need unlocked bootloader or s-off device
here it is
* download the latest twrp 3.1.1-0
* grab any modded firmware package
* delete all files inside the zip except "android-info.txt" edit that text to match your device info
* rename the twrp img to "recovery" then put it with "android-info.txt" and zip it
* put it in your sd card root formatted as fat32 then reboot to bootloader (hboot) and confirm the flash process
* reboot to recovery after the flashing complete then do a full backup and flash supersu.zip
if you need help, more details needed about your device so we can provide a proper files ( final zip )

However, I installed a Custom WOLLA.SENSE7.MM.V3 using this link:

If you are talking about my response/quote directed to K4R33M; then I purposely did not link the thread. It's not applicable to your original question, and won't help you.
If you want to see it anyway, simply click his user name K4R33M on his post, select "View Forum Posts" and you will easily find the other posts he made (where his question was answered).
But his situation is not the same as yours (not even close) - despite his claim as it is the same (one of the reasons I tell people never to say they have the same problem/question, as it is virtually never true). He already has s-off and a custom ROM installed, but had relocked bootloader. Root wasn't even his problem, he was just trying to get xposed to install.
