[Q] Has Google Financing charged you yet? - Google Pixel XL Questions & Answers

I received my Pixel XL yesterday but have yet to be charged for it?
I did the Google Financing.
Haven't gotten any email or snail mail from the card company.
Nothing at all.
And payments.google.com only shows my debit card being charged tax for the purchase.
No other payments.
Am I getting a free phone or is it looking this way for you guys too?
I can't even log into the card company's website because I have no clue what my card number might be, since I have not received any communication from them?

You should have received a letter in the mail with your Google financing card. I received mine about a week after pre-ordering. I can see the charge on my card and I just received an email notifying me that my payment is due Nov 15.

Weird. I have not gotten the card/letter or even any emails.
I pre-ordered on October 15th.
I got the emails with my tracking info.
Got an email talking about my device protection at $5/month.
But nothing from the credit card company.
And if I go to payments.google.com and click on "Payment Methods", it shows my debit card, paypal account, Google Play balance.... but no financing/credit card info.

None of this is from Google Financing or their card company.

Exact thing is happening to me. Had Google finance send the bill to my business and nothing has come in. I already have a credit account with the same bank that Google finance goes thru (Synchrony Bank) and they don't see any payments due.

Wow.
Did you order, then cancel, and then order again? I did. Two days apart.
Maybe they're just trying to catch up on things still.

I received the card in the mail about a week after ordering and I registered with Sycrhrony. When Pixel XL shipped there was a hold pending but when I received phone 4 days later did not pay attention.
I did not get a text from bank for the charge so checked again and noticed the first pending was still there but maybe expired since most pending are proceed in 2 days and there was another pending charge for the day I received phone and available credit matched one charge.
Just checked now and there are no pending and full available credit. I do know Google had problems at the beginning processing some orders with the bank and ordered were cancelled. Maybe they still have some bugs to work out with the bank. I doubt we will get free phones because Google has the finance account info and could verify with the bank about the charges. Just might take a little time.

I first tried to apply for the Google financing but after that it told me I had to contact Synchrony Bank to finish the approval. I called them immediately and within 5 minutes was approved. I then tried to check out on the Google Store but it didn't show my credit. So I called the Google Store number and they helped me over the phone to apply my financing to my Google account which took about 10 minutes. I then proceeded to check out with no issues but have not received anything from them about the financing since. I ordered the Quite Black 32gb Pixel XL from Google directly within about 3 hours after they started pre-orders.

I just activated my Project Fi.
And now it *looks* like Google is just adding my $32 Pixel monthly payment onto my Project Fi bill. So I'm being billed for the $769 instead of having it on some kind of credit card. Interesting.
I have yet to ever receive any communication from Google's credit card company (Synchrony) nor has my credit report reported anything on it.
Cool.
My credit is untouched.
Works for me I guess.

I preordered the phone using Google Financing. I NEVER received anything in the mail for it. I checked my bill which is due on the 20th and it says I owe $0.00 for the month. It does have my total charges on there though.

I chatted with synchrony about this just yesterday, as online it say a payment is due 11/20/16, however it is listed as $0.00.
Rep told me, bill is actually due 12/20/16, and I will definitely receive a paper bill in the mail (I did not enroll in electronic statements/billing).
The actual phone charge was posted to my acct. 11/07/16, and is reflected in my available credit limit.

I ordered my Pixel XL with Google Financing. But when my order shipped, Google charged my debit card $968.67! My order status still shows Google Financing as the payment method. I'm currently exchanging emails with Google Support trying to get the charge reversed.

The bank site I went to needs my account number to register but I don't know what my account number is???
Google wallet has the charge listed but only last 4 numbers of account.

I purchased my pixel XL through the Google store via financing by Google (synchrony). During my purchase I asked them if this could be combined with my project fi service bill, they said they could not just in case I decided to suspend my project fi service. I got my phone, and didn't receive any email or letter about billing for a month. Finally I received what looked like a credit card from google, and soon after an email from synchrony asking me to register my card and account.
The link it provided me was to "credit.syf.com" (don't try and visit and do this before you get the email or you might screw something up. I visited the link, registered my card, it showed my original limit of 1000, minus the 900 I spent at the Google store.
It said my bill was 0.00 for about another month, then finally changed and got updated.
Now when I visit, it shows how much I owe, my credit limit, my payment date, etc etc.
That's just me telling you all how my experience went. Essentially, wait till you get your physical card from google/synchrony in the mail, then register the card at the link provided in your email.

just says new phone nothing about second gen in terms and conditions so I bet if you never registered an existing wp7 device for some of the other eprize promos that were out you could probably redeem this as well even if you had an older device or if you grabbed a first gen device recently.

IMEI can tell a lot, which they ask for. You are probably correct that it does not have to be a 2nd gen device, but I doubt you could get by with any phone purchased outside of the promotion window.
On a side note, I bought my phone with one number but plan on using it for another, so which phone number would I use for the offer?

This promotion is a pain. You have to enter a bunch of information and take pictures of your receipt and box. Then you finally finish and they tell you a card with a code on it will come in the mail if you're approved. They don't say when, so like mail in rebates, it will probably take two months. Wish they would just credit your account directly instead of snail mailing you a code to enter that credits your account lol.

Rebates are great.
Most people don't go through the work to actually cash in, so companies can afford to give more back with a rebate than they could by just discounting or in this case giving.
I've heard through pretty reliable marketing sources that only about 50% of rebates or less actually get filled out. So, the estimated cost to the company is only about $12.50 per device. So, if the rebate was automatic, that is what you would get or less.
By taking 2 months, they also can verify that you didn't just return your phone, since most carriers give you some time to try it
10 minutes of work. Get $25.00 in 2 months. Not too bad of a deal.
I think I still did better with my first gen Verizon HTC Trophy.
Verizon had a promo giving a free Xbox 360 game, I got Halo Reach (still going for $59.99 in the stores when I got it) and my phone had an issue, so I sent it back and got a new replacement. All they wanted was my ESN for a game. I also got Kinect Sports too(for the 2nd phone) $39.99 in the store at the time.
$25 or $100ish of 360 games...Hmmmm
I think I did all right... (by the way, My phone was an insurance replacement for my HTC TP2, my deductable was only $50)
They pretty much paid me to take the Trophy and No contract of any type.

I got my confirmation from Citi that I'll receive my card in 7-10 days! I was concerned because the phone number I use with my phone (also the one I registered for the card with) is not the number I bought the phone with and is on the receipt.

Got my card in the mail today. Was a simple process and only took a week to get my card. I even totally forgot that it was headed my way, so I was surprised when I got an envelope from Windows Phone. lol

Google store canceled my order

So, I place my order on the 4th for Pixel XL 128g in black using Google financing option. Order was successful, so I thought. Never got a confirmation email or anything. After submitting the page landed on order history with "Canceled" in the header. Login to sysnchrony and all my available credit is gone and there is a pending payment for the amount of the whole order. Fast fw to today, still same pending amount..a rep at google finance tell me that it shows approved and I should contact google store to get shipment info and what not.
Google store has no history of my order and keep insisting I used the wrong email to place the order haha wtf ever. They can't find any damn trace of it. No trace of it in my order history either. So guess I'm not getting the Pixel!!

Were you able to reorder? Even if I ever get to reorder looks like they are out of stock for XL anyways.
Not with Google finance. I went ahead and just put it on my credit card. I tried Google finance again yesterday and it was declined because of the pending charge.
Gotcha. I'm going do the same once the XL is back to stock.
Got email from Google explaining that they had some technical difficulties on some orders, mine being one. Anyways, got $100 off promo code for my reorder when its back in stock.

I used the chat feature on the Google store. The chat agent then scheduled a call back to me from a higher level. When they called, their number didn't even show on phone. I called them back from the help feature chat or call. Don't remember the number off hand though.

Return it go a few days without a phone.
I was a victim of this as well. I called and was told that if I were to cancel my new XL 128gb pre-order and reorder with the promo code, I would have to wait likely another month before I receive the phone. I decided against it, but the rep was cool and added a ton of notes to my account so when I activate it, ill get some sort of credit towards my Fi account to compensate. He also confirmed that my device would def ship on the 21st.
My order was cancelled and the Google store is saying due to financial issues on my end but, the full amount was removed from my bank account (I purchased using the pay now option using my bank card which I used to purchase the Nexus 6 and 6P) . Google is still trying to tell me that my bank didnt approve the purchase but, you can clearly see the purchase amount has been paid to "Purchase authorization Google Devices" and yet, Im being told a different story from the Google support team. Cant ask for a supervisor bc they just tell you that they can only escalate the issue and have someone get back to me. I definitely want some sort of credit or something given I have been a Google faithful for years and have been on the Fi network for a year now too....

Same **** happened to me , got my call escalated to tier 2 support , was supposed to be contacted in 24-48 hrs .

yeah, i havent had any response at all. And I have sent multiple emails w/screenshots of my acct information showing the purchase of the "Google Devices" in my acct balance history. It even has my monthly payment to project Fi right above that so called "declined purchase" . So they somehow can automatically take payment for my Fi service, send me my Nexus 6P and my Fi sim cards not to mention my Google cardboard etc.... several things have been purchased through the same acct with NO issues, now all the sudden Im having a bunch of problems... be serious Google....

What doesn't make sense to me...can someone who was approved let me know if they have to wait or can use it right away?

Same here, used it right away. Also interesting note was that I applied using my wife's credit info {with her consent of course, after all, she's the ones who ruined my credit} and still used it right away connected to my Google account.

I have no idea why they say I have to wait...I have the card number and it is just says invalid when I try to add it as a payment in checkout and also tried adding to my Google payments account. I have contacted both Google and synchrony and they have no idea why it won't work. I even logged into the account to verify the funds are available. All there.

Its a card with the account number on it in the mail. Says wait 7 days to get after 10 days if you don't get it call. The card is just the number so you can have it if you need to pay a bill. Like the amazon store card same bank

It took a few minutes, but once it was approved, when I went to the store it told me it was available to use for the purchase.
I did not have to add it as a payment option.
I also had called synchrony, they gave me the number over the phone, and told me it was available for use right away.

Yeah, it was never added to my payment account so I'm starting to think that there is a problem with the account. When I try and use the card number it says invalid so it obviously isn't working. Lol

I would totally check on it. Try and contact Synchrony directly? Mine was not only immediate but I was able to see the actual account via the Google Store showing balance, available credit, account number etc.
Makes me wonder if you did not get "click jacked."

are you by chance using a different email for synchony than your google store account ?
Google and Synchrony can't seem to figure it out. They don't have any idea why my Gmail account isn't showing my credit card from them. They are escalating the issue higher up to see if they can find out where it went wrong.
At least the phone I want is still out of stock!(I was trying to pre-order on the 4th too, been almost 10 days). [emoji35]

I am not same email I just chatted with Google and they don't even see my application or account at all. So I am going to contact Synchrony and see if they can fix that otherwise the Google rep told me to reapply?
I went for the Google Financing option for my pre-order of a 32gb at Project Fi.
But I haven't gotten any communication from the credit card company Google is using.

I went to use it to buy a Chromecast but the option wasn't there.
My experience: ordered 32gb silver xl through synchrony in 10/13. On 10/14, got email that 128gb was in stock. Canceled 32gb and ordered 128gb silver. Card was being declined so had to call synchrony. They said there was a hold on it as they wanted to confirm the purchase for the 128gb since the price was higher. Confirmed it. Hour later, got an automated call to confirm the purchase again. So all in all 2 contacts.
Google store does not show my card. I also have not setup my account with synchrony online or anything. Also not showing anything in payments.google.com. However orders page shows cancelled 32gb and preordered 128gb. shipping est Nov 23ish. Also got all the emails for everything.

2. did you all just sign up at check out of your order to get the financing option?
3. should I being applying for the Google financing while waiting for the variant I want to come back in stock (to avoid possible chance of it going out of stock again during the application process)?

Just wanted to let everyone know that my issue was my wife was signed in to my email when she never uses my PC. So I applied for the financing under her Gmail account!
I felt really dumb for not checking that but she never uses my computer so that is why I never thought of it.
So, all is resolved on my end. So the problem is now that the Pixel XL is on back order I just ordered from Verizon and will be receiving it tomorrow! (I wanted to get from Google for the unlocked bootloader) but the phone will have everything I want(I want root for adaway mainly).

Google maybe is trying to charge credit cards before shipment because I got a text message Oct 16 3 am asking to confirm if the Pixel 2 XL charge was not fraud. All I had to do is text reply 1 to confirm my Pixel 2 XL 128gb black was not fraud. Check your credit card statements or log online to make sure your credit card has not been put on hold because of google raising red flags for fraud. I ordered right after the presentation hitting refresh non stop. 12:30 central.shipping to USA.
My order was right after the presentation 12:30 central. Order ship Oct 17 with Delivery Oct 19-20

Same getting my pixel tomorrow
Here we go again. Every year with Google where they fail hard from their Google Store. I got a message like the OP for fraud on my banking card. I verified it was a valid transaction online. Google didn't tell me my account was on hold until this morning. No email, no call back. So I had to call the banking institution to tell them that the transaction was valid and now I have an elevated case with Google to make the transaction on their end. Their store has been a nightmare every year they started the Google store. It's so ridiculous. Now I am not sure when my phone is being shipped. I hope it's not going to be a long wait like I have heard years past.
EDIT: I should have known to call my banking institution the minute I ordered the phone on October 4th to be aware of a transaction. I just knew some stupid s*** like this would happen with Google since they are horrible with their store.
OP here, just an update. My transaction will not experience any delays and will proceed as scheduled. ( Oct 17 ship - Oct 19 delivery) Confirmed by Fedex tracking.

Glad it worked out for you. Google didn't notify me of being on hold. This is something that I have read about in the past. They are notorious for this. They should be just like the banking institutions and send a text the minute the status changes on the order, but this is where they fail. You have to be proactive on their orders for things to go smoothly.

I was surprised this morning by a Fed Ex Ground deliver at 835am - they never come that early - must have known I was waiting for my new Pixel XL2! LOL - phone looks awesome - going thru setup and looking forward to root - hopefully will happen soon.

They always charge a day or two before shipment, to ensure proper payment. It's not fraud at all. Not sure why your freaking out. You knew it was going to hit your account?
When you buy they device, the charge hits and falls off. Google then recharges you a day or two before shipment.
It's how it's always been.

What you state is common knowledge. What I am talking about is when the credit card company stops the transaction because they are trying to protect you from possible fraud. If you do not get the text or the email goes to spam you do not get a phone.

Not all companies do that. Smaller banks will do this.
I'm on Google credit. They sure didn't text me.
Citi bank (not small) denied the purchase when Google tried to charge my card on Oct. 4th. Subsequent to that, Google never notified me that the purchase was put on hold via e-mail. Then on Oct. 16, I got a fraudulent charge from my bank, Google tried doing the transaction again on my bank account and were denied. This is when I realized how fu**ed up, like every year previous, google store has been. They didn't notify me TWICE before I figured out what was going on. So now, I have to make sure the bank accepts the charge, which I did. Then Google has to proceed with the order, which in the past has been a nightmare for some people where they would get the phone a month or two later. This is what pisses me off about Google. No correspondence TWICE before I have to call them to get the ball rolling.

Question 6 Pro Pre-Order on Hold due to payment failure that didn't fail

I received an email from the Google store this morning that my pre-order for a 6 pro was on hold due to a payment failure on my google store financing account. There was a link button to Fix Payment. Pressing that button brought up a screen that says that they could not fix the payment and to contact Google. I contacted Google Chat and was told to contact Synchrony Bank. I contacted Synchrony Bank and was told that Google charged my account on the 19th then returned the money to Synchrony this morning and tried to re-charge the account 8 times and Synchrony flagged the account for fraud. The Synchrony rep verified my purchase and unlocked my account. She said they were receiving a lot of calls this morning for the exact same thing. Any ideas how to fix this so Google doesn't cancel my pre-order?
Have you re-contacted Google and let them know that Synchrony unlocked the account (and the rest of the story if necessary)?
I did via chat and I get back a message that my issue is under review "Case in Progress." Whatever that means.

My advice if you're in a hurry to get a P6P;
Use an alternate source of funding and purchase another P6P.
If you ever get the initial device that is now "case in progress" return it within the 30-day no questions asked return period.
Bummer, be aggressive to resolve...

This is good advice. Once Google, (actually Ingram) says they are working on it...it could take forever and end bad.
