Merging ROMs - XZ2 vs XZ2 Compact - Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact Questions & Answers

I currently have the XZ1 and have an EE UK ROM flashed. This enables 4G and Wifi calling (otherwise not supported on the EE network).
I've just received my XZ2 compact, and keen to enable the same functionality, but there is no EE UK ROM on Xperifirm.
Does anyone know if its possible to merge the relevant parts of the EE UK ROM for the big brother XZ2, like the carrier settings part only?

[Q] using 3g/4g with Xperia zl6503 in Sweden

Hi I'm wondering if Xperia zl 6503 is compatible in regards to 3G and 4g/lte bands in Sweden?
Furthermore, I have started to see on eBay that people have started to sell it, is it safe to buy it? Expansys se only has it as pre order at the moment.
Thanks.

Sony Z3+ Dual E6533 Volte Update

Hi Everyone,
I own a Sony device z3+ dual but sony is not providing volte update for reliance jio network for this phone. But Z5 dual & z5 premium already got volte update. I talked to sony several times but they said that this is hardware issue but I'm completely aware that Volte is a software concern. I love my phone and features. It is currently running on Android 7.0.
Let me give you other details :
Z3+ Dual Specs vs Z5+ Dual Specs (please refer gsmarena)
Build Number : 32.3.A.2.33
I am also thinking if there could be any way to install Xperia Z5 dual rom or atleast it's volte patch on my xperia z3+ dual.
These two phones are very much identical.
Will someone give me any favour on it?

Who can made up working zuk z2 volte in korea?

Hello.
I have a question about volte.
support volte in all south korea carriers.
But When I insert usim in korea, zuk z2 working lte data only.
When I make a call on zuk z2, didn't work.
And I can see only emergency call support on *#*#4636#*#* screen. voice discconnected.
How can using volte in south korea?
I think zuk z2 volte priority is low.
Zuk z2 all support all network band in korea.
But I can't made volte call.
MIUI on mi5 is work in korea. But MIUI 8.2.0 version not work 7 months ago.
Now V8.2.2.0 version working in korea.
Who can find why can work that rom?
Korea carrier's some using different volte format.
that is tta-volte.
I think that rom has tta-volte setting.
Please made up working volte in korea.

Volte?

Anyone using volte on the XZ2 Compact? I noticed my lte+ drops to H during calls so it appears it is not working. I don't see an option for it either in my settings. Using the duel sim version.

I am using it, normally if you do not have a setting for it, then it means that your carrier do not support it for the phone model you are using, or it is not activated for your number.
I have the setting but have no status icon for it, so I wrote to Sony who said it is the carrier who decides if a status icon should be shown. And they explained that when calling someone the call screen will write VoLTE if the call is using VoLTE, and my does [emoji3]

Your device needs to be certified for VoLTE use with your carrier and needs to have the proper OEM.sin file flashed to it if it does in fact support it.
At this time in the USA, only Verizon is certified for use with VoLTE. T-Mobile support may be coming in a future update and AT&T will never be supported.
Why in the hell does the XZ1 Compact support T-Mobile VoLTE, but the XZ2 Compact does not. W.T.F. /rant
Any updates on VoLTE on T-Mobile?

Any updates? I want to use it on T-Mobile and no VoLTE would mean that I have to look for a different phone. Don't want a repeat of the horrible experience I am having with my Z5C

Which foreign carriers (USA) are supported in Z2 plus? Pls. share experiences

I am going on a trip to the USA, and would like to know which SIM to purchase there. Do you have experience about which bands are supported or which SIM brands offer compatible SIMs for Lenovo Z2 plus?
Also, I'm running AICP Nougat based ROM. Will changing to newer ROM give my any band benefits?

More than ROM, network is dependent on baseband. Stock ZUI 3.5.x based on Oreo has higher baseband version compare to stock ZUI 2.5 (Indian) based on Nougat !!
Secondly, best is to tweet to respective career of US to ask them along with your phone link to see if they support your device.
Check GSM Arena, or back of phone box, it lists the different frequencies the phone support. Then use the Google or Career website to figure out if they provide services on those supporting frequencies or bands !!
Thanks.

You should buy any sim that uses AT&T services. On T-Mobile you won't have 3G/3G+, although LTE is good. But during a call, your phone would automatically switch to 2G, and since 2G is being phased out, you will have bad reception and dropped calls.
