PX5- steering wheel control issue & reverse camera blinking - MTCD Android Head Units General

Hello everyone,
I have a Dasaita PX5 and Android 8.0 for my Jeep Compass 2018. Problem is that (1) steering wheel controls have stopped working. Used to work for a while when the unit was first installed then one day just ceased to function. And (2) reverse camera video is blinking after driving for around 20-30 mins (doesn’t blink when engine is on and not running)
I've updated both the MCU (V3.45) and system update (20190731) to the latest ones in hopes of fixing it. I also went to factory settings and tried all canbus that had "Jeep" on it and selected the right model of the car but SWC still not working including the controls at the back of the steering wheel. The only thing that's working is the right side of the steering wheel which is the cruise control function.
I had an auto electrician check it and said “there's no problem with electrical side“ and now he's saying maybe the switches are broken (which I doubt) cos when the car battery was changed not long ago (SWC already not working this time), SWC came back to life but only for short period of time.
Please help me figure this out. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
PS: also posted on android head unit thread. I wasn’t sure if I was posting in the right one. Thanks!

I'd try to disconnect the car battery for some minutes and see if the steering wheel controls return to work at least for some time.
If so, the head unit canbus adapter might be faulty,

I'd say there's a loose connection in the power feed of the CANbus decoder. More likely the ground wire is the problem. It could be loose or broken at either ends (including inside the decoder box) or along the length. Your electrician should know how to test for that.

Thanks for the reply guys. I’ll check this out and inform my electrician. Do you think the camera issue is related to this as well? I might need to order a new canbus adapter..

The HU gets the transmission is in reverse signal from the CANbus box so if the box kicks in and out so will the backup camera.

I put back the factory unit back in (factory unit worked without issues) but the steering wheel buttons still didn't work. Does this mean that the problem lies in the steering wheel buttons and not in the CANbus decoder?

[Q] Help with new Headunit not powering off and some other minor problems

Hi all, new guy here with some problems.
I've bought a new headunit to replace my factory Skoda Stream Radio CD.
My car is an Skoda Octavia mk2 vRS year 2007, so any VW headunit should be OK in my car.
New headunit is a Joying Android 4.4.4 RK3188 with latest official firmware (June 2015).
I was trying to install it this morning for the first time and found several problems.
The most important one is the headunit doesn't power off even with my car completely shutdown and closed.
Headunit install instructions state there are two different methods to connect the headunit.
First and preferred one is using CANBUS decoder box, so headunit power is controlled through CANBUS decoder.
But if headunit doesn't power on when you turn on the car (that's happening to mine), you have to use second method: unplug CANBUS decoder box and connect ACC +12V red wires so that headunit gets powered.
With this second method the headunit starts up OK, but when i turn off the engine, take out the key or even close the car with remote control, headunit doesn't power off at all. I even tried to wait for 20 minutes but with no results. So i had to remove new headunit from the car to avoid battery drain...
I have upgraded firmware from Abril to June version so i got a new feature that allows to delay shutdown after ACC is off.
I set it to 30 seconds delay but still nothing. Headunit stays on.
I already asked to seller, and i'm waiting for an answer. But i thought maybe i could get some valuable ideas here at the forum.
Still don't understand why headunit is not powering on with CANBUS decoder connected. My car should support it, my factory Skoda Stream Radio CD is able to show climatronic info on display.
Other problems i found:
- Headunit buttons don't light even if i turn on car headlights. If i set button's colour in Settings\Elements buttons light for a pair of seconds to show new color, but then they go off again.
- I wanted to set Skoda logo at boot at Factory Settings but asks for a pin/password. Thought it was 126 but it isn't. What is the pin for Factory Settings?
- There's a slight buzzing coming from speakers when i turn on car headlights. That buzzing is not there with Skoda factory radio unit.
Long post, thanks in advance for your answers. :good:
Seems to me wrong or defected harness?
Does your car have factory amplifier? I had one that was making lot of issues. I figured out that the harness was the problem because they sent me a harness that is compatible with my factory head unit. But my car was standard trim that didnt include it. I had to cut one wire they told me to cut it. And it worked fine after that.

Thanks for your answer Scorbion,
Seller is going to send me a new Canbus box decoder. We think it must be faulty, that's why headunit doesn't power on or power off with it. Without Canbus box, ACC coming from VW harness is not a real ACC but a +12V to battery, because VW factory radio does all through canbus, and so headunit is always connected and doesn't power off.
Will update info when i get the new canbus box from seller.
Thanks

i have the same problem. can u fix it?
Did you solve this canbus problem?
Yes, new can bus decoder did the trick.
Long time ago though...
Hardware solution trumps everything
Had the same issue. Im also waiting for the supplier to respond. In the meantime, I just pulled the acc pin off the box and connected the radio to cig. lighter possitive. Works.

Q: PHONE ACCEPT / REJECT not working, all other keys OK; software or hardware?

Hello, I have recently discovered the forum and the section dedicated to Android head units; before reading a couple of threads, I used to think my unit was pretty decent, but with some of the mods / apps provided here, it is almost flawless now. Thank you guys for your effort.
I have been using my Pumpkin unit for a while and only recently I installed XposedMTC and CarService, along with RK3066 (which I think was overkill) in an attempt to fix the only issue that was puzzling me: not all of my steering wheel controls would work; I got my NEXT/PREV to work and I can see the keycode in CarService app, but I have 3 other keys that don't seem to be picked up by the unit. These are the PHONE ACCEPT / REJECT buttons and the other once (which is the speech-to-command function).
I'm very new to both the Android head units and the modding that is behind it, so sorry if I don't make sense.
I am having trouble understanding if it is software related, or if the connection in this wires is going outside the CANBUS plug wiring; by this I mean that maybe these 3 keys are sending signals somewhere else? I say this because while upgrading from my stock unit, one of the plugs was left disconnected, as it had no socket to connect to in the new radio.
I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, sorry for any inconvenience, but if someone went through this and managed to fix it, I'll be thrilled if you let me know how; the unit is from Pumpkin, and the car is a Mazda 3 from 2010.
Thanks in advance.

Malaysk rom: how to startup app into background and cannot change steering buttons

Hi,
Ik use Malaysk rom (version RK3188) on an seicaneunit in my Mini Cooper R56.
I have some issue's/problems which i cannot solve or get an aswer to...
1.
I want to run the app 'flitsmeister' (a app for traffic info and speed traps warnings). This apps runs in background and popups when it detects traffic or a speed trap, this works OK. But when i start it on boot it stays on top until i press home etc. I would like to start this app on boot and it should run in the background or the home button should be 'pressed' automaticly after a few seconds.
Is there a way to do this in this rom?!
2.
I cannot change the steering buttons control, when i open the menu and press the key to assign it simply performs the default assigned function, i cannot change this in anyway. How can i change the behavour of the steering wheel controls and save this?
3.
Is there a update for a newer android version (5 or 6) for this unit which i can use?
Steerling wheel functionality works through a canbus which most newer cars have. Seicane eonon etc all use canbus.. however thats if your vehicle have one which it should. Problem one.. your missing a canbus..
If you have a canbus 2 issues possible.
Canbus is picky and eah make speaks their own language.. now most chinese aftermarket HU use a multi purpose canbus decoder which your vehicle may not pick up or you have a faulty canbus.
2. Canbus wiring.. now alot of makes run wiring through the oem harness.. depending the hu in the modle of car.. like running a stock crappy system vs an alpine, inifinte, bode system where multipul components talk.. but that then becomes a sound issues differet topic.
The canbus wiring itself could be wrong off the new HU harness you'll have to check seicanes crappy wiring diagram matching to your oem harness. Where the canbus connection is use a multimeter with the car off.., on accessory and started.
Future reference..
Seicane eonon etc have messed up the wiring giving the canbud power even when the car is off.. meaning they ran the power off the battery live wire.. vs just the accessory and on power wire.. draining the battery of your vehicle. Simple fix youll have to just switch the power wire to the correct wire being accessories and on.
At the end of the day you most likely need the canbus for the steering wheel functions to work. Ifcyou have it do soke trouble shooting

[PX5] Dasaita Head Unit or Peugeot 208 - 2014 - Radio & Steering Wheel not working

[PX5] Dasaita Head Unit or Peugeot 208 - 2014 - Radio & Steering Wheel not working
Hello all, I have an issue with my Android Head Unity for my Peugeot 208 from 2014. I have installed and attached everything accordingly and everything is (almost) working perfectly. Except for two issues...
Steering Wheel Study not working
None of my Steering Wheel keys are working currently. I have checked if the correct Canbus-option is selected in the settings (according to the seller it's the correct one), but I still have some cables hanging loose from the back of the head unity (KEY1 & KEY2), do I need to plug these into the canbus decoder, or just keep them hanging loose?
Radio FM not working great...
I got the radio working, but sadly, the connection/signal is static/bad. I have tried connected the antenna/radio cable to the white and/or blue connecters that fit from my car, but both should be connected I guess... But I only have one cable that fits it from my android head unit.
Hopefully someone can help me out... Since the guide from the seller is not helping at all...

Hi! I have a Peugeot wir PX5 too. From what i know the canbus is the only thing you need to connect. So when the canbus is connected, you don't need to connect the KEY1 and KEY2.
The FM is working great by my head unit. Maybe you need to go to the factory settings and change the settings for canbus and for fm ?

Thanks for the reply.. Sadly the seller is only responding with: "Connect key1 and key2 to your car wiring"... But I can't even find which wires are supposedly are the keys on my steering wheel, hehe. So I'm stuck! Thankfully, they're sending a replacement canbus, hopefully that one will do the trick.

Phone functionality inside onboard computer not working

Hello everyone, i recentrly bought an android head unit for my car, a seat Ibiza 2016 restyling. Everything is working as expected except for the phone functionality using steering wheel controls. Other steering wheel buttons works as expected and the little display i have behind the steering wheel shows the radio frequency correctly but the phone part does not work. I can directly use the head unit to call but i wanted to know if someone had the same problem and maybe can give me some suggestions or a way to send that signal to the can box to let the onboard computer manage the phone functionality. The head unit is a Roverone px5 MTCE mcu.
Thanks for everyone who can help me
