Question Is it possible to loose the IMEI if I have root but stock firmware - Samsung Galaxy A32 4G

I have been trying to root but in afraid that I'll loose my IMEI if I do it (by stock firmware I mean One UI 3).

Can You Remove Root Yet?

Hey folks
I'm on Verizon and I'm on day 1 of my 14 day return policy for my G3. I'd like to root it (seems like ioroot is compatible with Verizon) and tweak things, but just in case I find something broken with the phone, I need to be able to remove root in case I need to return it. Is this possible yet? Will a factory reset remove root? If not, how is it done (if it can be done)?
Bonus question: If I root it with ioroot and install xposed to perform tweaks on the stock rom, will ota updates still work?
Thanks

Sorry but i am going to borrow this post. I have the D855 and i am rooted via towelroot. Currently on V10a and i received an OTA notification. Obviously i could not install it so how do i get updates? TWRP did not list the G3 on supported devices.

Don't think that works on Verizon.

Yes, if you downgrade it to KitKat with KDZ you can root it, then you can install a bumped Lollipop ROM
Can anyone make Lollipop supported Root method, please...
If they could, they already would have. Revert to kit Kat and root

Alright, thanks. I found the original kitkat firmware, flahed it, rooted it and then flashed a custom lollipop rom.
I just wasn't sure that that when you change roms, you're build changes, as well. Now, i am.

Update firmware without losing HARDWARE root

My box is hardware rooted at 51.1.4.3. Is there a way to update my firmware to 51.1.5.0 and retain root without having to resolder the wires?

If he is at 51.1.4.3 then he can't use the custom roms because those require recovery, which require unlocked bootloader. You can't unlock if you are at 51.1.4.3.

Im not trying to root. I already have root. I want to update my firmware and keep root
Nevermind I see the tutorial has been updated.. Thanks
Is it possible to copy su to the official 51.1.5 rom and perform a manual update?
you should be able to downgrade to 51.1.0.2_user_510058520, install CWM, unlock the bootloader, upgrade to bueller-51.1.4.0_514006420-rooted+updated, install Rbox's boot menu, and upgrade to bueller-51.1.5.0_515020820-rooted.
if you do this, I'd stick towel root on there just in case.
My boot loader is locked. Can't downgrade. My box is hardware rooted at v51.1.4.3. If I allow it to accept the latest v51.1.5 update over the network, I will lose root. The only way to regain root is by re-soldering the wires and perform hardware root again.
The question was: Is it possible to somehow add su to the official firmware, bueller-ota-51.1.5.0_user_515030720-signed.bin, and perform a manual update using this modified file?

Update my rooted phone

My unlocked and rooted h815 is running v10c-xx-eu and a custom recovery (twrp)
It run xposed and some cool module
There is an update for me
V 10 d
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2V...p=docslist_api
Can I ota update, or maybe I should use the pcsuite? Will I lose any data during the update? Is it safe?
Thanks

There's a flashable zip here which contains the stagefright fix, meaning it's the latest update, even though it has a different version name. It's from the Taiwanese (?) or whichever other version of the h815. Works on our international unbranded phones.
DON'T TAKE AN OTA
No, you can't update your phone wit ota if you have root. Is there twrp available for h815?

I was in the same case. This is what I did:
I updated my rooted 10c (locked bootloader) to 10d (stock kdz image) with LG Flashtool.
After reboot, I switched off the phone BEFORE first setup.
Then I used the command tool to flash a rooted 10d.
I didin't loose any app, setting, or whatsoever...:good:

Is it safe to update M8 to marshmallow?

Hi friends, I am getting notifications to update my M8 to marshmallow. Its with unlocked bootloader, rooted and with S-OFF and running stock rom.Currently its running Android 5.0.1 with Htc sense version 6.0 on a Rogers(canadian) network. Will it be safe to update it to marshmallow? Will i be able to root it afterwards?Any suggestions please? Thanks
You will need an unrooted (never rooted) stock Rogers ROM, and corresponding stock recovery, in order to update by OTA.
Otherwise, there haven't been any issues reported (such as root) with Marshmallow. Root requires a newer version SuperSU (2.51 or later), but otherwise there aren't any major issues.

Nope, unrooting won't work OTA will still fail). I specified never rooted for that reason.
You can use a TWRP backup, if you made one before rooting. Otherwise, you'll need to find a stock (unrooted) TWRP backup on the forums.

I'm not sure what you are asking. You can't run the OTA as-is, in order to return to stock ROM, if that is what you mean. This will fail for the same reason a Marshmallow OTA will fail (due to modified software) in addition that version check will probably also make it fail (you can't OTA to the same version already on the phone).
You might be able to extract the ROM for the zip file. But this can be risky, too. Its best you find a previously posted TWRP backup of the stock ROM; or ask someone to post it.

Thanks redpoint!! Please bear with me due to my limited knowledge.I have my own twrp back up which i made just after i got the phone and before doing anything but its an year old backup.I think at that time it was android 4.4.3.But after that my phone took 3 OTA updates. So i can i still use my old stock android 4.4.3 TWRP backup?
I also have recovery.img which i made just after getting OTA update 6-7 months ago.I used "dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p43 of=/sdcard/recovery.img" to save recovery image.

That one is probably too old. The backup needs to match your firmware (hboot, radio, etc.) or at least be close.

Can't tell if that is too old, either.
You should be able to find the needed stock nandroid and stock recovery here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/tutorial-how-to-stock-stock-twrp-t3086860
Sounds like you current version is 4.20.631.2?

What part about never rooted do you not understand???
Stop trying to invent ways around it. You can dance around and cluck like a chicken if you want, it still won't make a previously rooted ROM never rooted.
You've been told the proper way to proceed.
